Baba Ganoush

Decided to go try out Pita Grille in Taylors. We've been wanting to find Mediterranean food like we are used to. We've had some good food here but we have missed kabobs etc. We got the Mixed Plate for Two which seriously had almost everything on the menu. The first things brought out was the Hummus, Baba Ganoush with Pita. The Hummus was delicious and I was so surprised by the Baba Ganoush. It was very different from what I thought. It was delicious! Then came the HUGE PLATES of food. Greek Salad, Chicken Kabob, Jerusalem Kabob, Lamb Chops and Rice Pilaf. Wow! Everything was delicious and flavorful. The chicken was seasoned well and tender. The Jerusalem Kabob was perfectly seasoned and the Lamb Chops were cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The rice was different than I was used to, it had raisins in it. My husband doesn't like rice but couldn't stop eating it. The young man helping us was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be back!!!

I got some food to go. I tried the falafel with tzatziki instead of tahini and the Beef Shawarma which came with fries. The fries were excellent and I devoured them in the car before I got home. It's a small spot but does have tables if you want to eat there. Service was friendly when taking my order and giving me the food. The beef was tender and the falafel appetizer was a great deal for the price!

Chicken shawarma with a side of hummus. Was charged $8.99 the price of the full appetizer.

I visited this café with my sister. Before going, we checked the menu prices online, and when we arrived, the board displayed the same prices. The menu clearly stated that the sandwiches came with fries. I ordered a small side of hummus with my sandwich. However, when my sister checked the receipt after we had already waited for our food, she noticed that the total was much higher than expected. She asked the manager about the price difference, and he claimed that we were charged extra for the fries. She pointed out that the menu explicitly stated that fries were included with the sandwiches, but they didn't offer any explanation or correction. By the time we realized the issue, we had already started eating, so we just let it go in the moment. Still, I don't think it's right, the prices should match what's listed on the menu. We were charged $42 for our meal and two drinks. The sandwiches with fries were $11.99 each, drinks are $2.50 each. Something wasn't right... The photos I uploaded show exactly what we received, and in my opinion, it wasn't worth the price. It also seems like they charged $8.99 the price of a full hummus appetizer instead of a side portion of hummus. As for the food, the fries were crispy and well-cooked, but the chicken shawarma was lacking in flavor. The garlic aioli was not good at all, very oily. My sister enjoyed her gyro sandwich, but overall, the experience left a bad impression. I don't think we'll be returning. They overcharge customers, assume no one will notice, and when questioned, they come up with excuses to justify the price hike. If you visit this place check that your total is not different from what's listed on the menu. If it is I strongly suggest not ordering from this establishment. I found them to be dishonest, and they definitely have lost a customer.

Remodeled, expanded, and updated seating

Excellent, comprehensive menu for the family: Mediterranean, American, and Italian dishes. The staff are very friendly and happy to help navigate the choices. Wonderful hummus, gyros, wings, schawarma, pizza, burgers, lasagna...too many choices to mention them all. It's recently expanded and remodeled to provide additional seating with all new tables. They plan to open the second bar (shown in the image) to expand the menu offerings.

Had the lamb platter from here. It was good, time to try their gyro wrap.. presentation looks good.

I'm writing the review as I sit here.... THATS HOW GOOD THIS PLACE IS! I can't imagine this place ever having an off day. We sat down... looks like a small place but the service is EXCELLENT!! Wonderful place! A little hidden but great spot for lunch. Their hummus is one of the best I've ever had. Super fresh with lots of garlic! Pita bread was soft and warm. I got their chicken pita sandwich. The chicken was cooked and seasoned great! I'll definitely come back again!

#24 Chicken Shawarma, Greek Salad

Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Looks like a hole in the hole but made up for it with good food and superb service.

Food was good, but they will overcharge you more than what their menu specifies. Would not recommend.

The one thing I would offer as constructive criticism is really watch the amount of dry oregano you add after the fact. Most of what we received had more than a dusting, which isn't pleasant with dried herbs. (Note, I love oregano and cook with it all the time. This was just excessive). The other thing I would note is there isn't that spirit of hospitality when you are there, which is what the Greeks are known for. Service was I'd say a bit below average- for example, we ordered a bunch of appetizers, and were done with quite a bit of it. When our food came out the waitress tried to deliver all the food on an already crowded table. We had to ask her to remove the dirty, empty plates first. We also had people run out of water, and she never came back to refill. The other thing was it was clearly a celebratory dinner. It would have been nice to at least ask what was going on. Not looking for anything, but typically a server would at least chat you up. All that said, we will be back and recommend this place to others. Would just recommend tasting the food before it does out to make sure its not caked with dried oregano, and bring a little more of that Greek spirit to the business.

Have you ever discovered that neighborhood gem worth the trip no matter where you're coming from? That's Ji-Roz. This Greek-inspired restaurant is located just a few minutes walk from NOMA on the quieter, residential stretch of Main Street. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance; intimate enough for a casual date night, relaxed enough for a long lunch with friends. And the food? It's guaranteed to spark conversation, with a symphony of distinct flavors that blend seamlessly into something truly greater than the sum of their parts. We order the spanakopita every single visit, and it never disappoints. The flaky crust gives way to a perfectly balanced blend of feta and spinach that sets the tone for the meal beautifully. The smoked octopus with capers is another standout appetizer. It's bold, flavorful, and absolutely worth exploring. For an entrée, don't overlook the fresh North Carolina trout served over a pea and mint purée, accompanied by Greek potatoes and roasted broccolini, and finished with a cucumber and caper relish. It's a masterclass in balance with every component complementing the fish rather than competing with it, resulting in a layered, memorable plate. The restaurant also offers a thoughtful selection of casual wines and beers to round out the experience. As we were leaving after a late lunch, we caught the chef making fresh pasta for the dinner menu. Safe to say, we'll be back and soon.

We originally fell in love with the Chicken Kabobs, but after trying the salmon, it quickly became our favorite dish. The salmon is perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. We live in Asheville, so dining at Pomegranate on Main is always a special treat. We especially love the cranberry basmati rice and always ask to substitute it for the basmati rice mixed with dill and lima beans. Our waiter, Christian W., happily made the change for us. Christian provided outstanding service throughout our meal--friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure everything was just right. We also love the Pomegranate Martini and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys martinis. During this visit, we were skipping alcohol, and Christian suggested the Pomegranate Mojito instead. It was refreshing, flavorful, and absolutely delicious--a perfect non-alcoholic option. What keeps us coming back is the consistency. The food is always excellent, the service is always top-notch, and the entire dining experience is one we look forward to every time. Pomegranate on Main is well worth the trip, and we highly recommend it!
