On August 4, 2026, around 9:50-10:00 a.m., I attempted to place a phone order for a egg breakfast plate with a substitution of fries for the standard hash browns and a side of gravy(no drink). I tried ordering online, but the system would not accommodate my special request, so I called the restaurant. I had to dial three times before anyone answered. When a staff member finally picked up, I stated my order, but they did not acknowledge my order and last name was correct, and instead hung up in the middle of me speaking. when I arrived to pick up my order, I was quoted $21.22 for a single breakfast plate with no beverage. Upon receiving the food, I discovered they had prepared hash browns instead of the fries I had requested. After being awake for 36 hours for work and already frustrated by the earlier phone experience, I simply requested a refund. I have eaten at this restaurant many times and this was my first experience of this nature. unfortunately, customer service has shown a gradual decline in recent months. I hope management can address phone responsiveness, order accuracy, and overall consistency so visits can return to the standard previously enjoyed. read more

When you go into the restaurant you order at the register. A board on the wall is there once you walk in. You can eat in. It's an older diner but looks kept up. The people are very friendly. The food is prepared to order. I had a fish sandwich with onion rings. The fish was crispy and tender. My husband had the hamburger, they put everything on it that he asked for and fries. Typical burger joint; food tastes good. The fries were crinkle fries. A little on the soft/soggy side. Not crispy. They offer Brunswick stew too. I know it must seem crazy to give a "fast food" type restaurant a 5 , but I don't care! This place is the BOMB ! Everyone is so welcoming. They are interested in their customers. Talked to me, a first time Besto customer, for 5 minutes... even though they were pretty busy. They kept working, but they were genuinely nice and made me feel so welcome. Others walked in and it's like they have known them their entire lives! Felt like home. *Food was terrific. *Cost was very fair for the amount you are given in each serving. *Atmosphere was average. Place could use a deep cleaning in the table areas. *People working there were phenomenal! * And where else can you go to eat and find a Bible Study?!??! Bestows doesn't make any sense to me. I ordered a hot dog plate from them. I got exactly the same hot dog they sell at skins. If I wanted a skin's hotdog, I would have ordered one. Why does other people have to copy someone else's food especially when skins hot dogs sucks I've been eating at bestows for a lot of years. The first time I tried the hot dogs. Um, yes please. This is a hole in the wall in the best sense. It knows what it is. It's not a destination. It's not five-star dining. It's not fancy. But, it's good. Damn good. And cheap. Damn cheap. Like burger, fries, and soda for about $6-$7. And the burgers are good. Damn good. The fries are really good if they're cooked long enough, which sometimes they aren't. besto used to be good, but has gone downhill with the new owner. paid 5 dollars for an order of fries that had already been re-fried a couple of times by the looks of them... some were just transparent husks of a crinkle fry. I picked through and found one that "looked" edible, but I was mistaken.. I bit into it to taste the most horrid french fry I've ever come across.. not sure if it was fish or rotten chicken juice, but something nasty was on that particular fry. I literally gagged. of course, the only things they would replace them with was other stuff fried in the same nasty grease... no thanks, I will not be returning. read more

I love burger "joints", and this is a must go place in Anderson if you are like minded. The place is apparently a landmark in Anderson. You don't become a landmark by serving bad food or by having unpleasant staff, so right off the line I can say this is a good joint. The people running the place had a lot of personality and I enjoyed making small talk with them as they cooked my meal. Obviously burger and fries was the choice for the day, and both were cooked to order and served too hot to trifle with. Excellent. No warmed over food here my friend. I've been trying to eat local and try new places. So we checked out Besto. The prices are great. The food is good. I asked for sour cream for my sweet potatoes fries and the girl gave me the most disgusted look and said um no we don't have that. The place is a small little shoppe that needs some updates and a major deep clean. It seems like a nice place and def a must visit for summer dogs and ice cream. The place isn't very clean. I had to wipe my own table off. There was crumbs and ketchup on the table. So I pulled out some hand sanitizer and a paper towel and wiped it off. It wasn't busy so I'm not really sure why it wasn't clean. Behind us on a table there was a rag which I wasn't going to use it looked gross. The girl came out grabbed the rag and wiped off a different table, doesn't seem very clean to me. They could def use another hand to clean or a day of shut down to clean it up. My grilled chicken was delicious and so were my fries and the rest of the family enjoyed their food as well so I'm giving a 4 star due to the food being so good. The service could be more welcoming but times are hard it happens. I will be back though maybe through drive through. read more

This is such a great place! I went today for the first time, and it was delicious! Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious! I had just woken up and was hoping for some breakfast, and even though they were serving lunch and didn't have some breakfast items available, the lady still offered to make me a breakfast sandwich. It was so good!!! If I could recommend anything, I think it would be nice to have napkins at the tables, but the service was incredible! I've stopped by Besto twice recently. One time to grab some ice cream and then last night I stopped in for dinner. I just moved back to Anderson after being gone over 5 years, so I was hoping Besto was as good as it always has been. Sure enough, it was. The cheeseburger looks so simple to the eye, but it's got great flavor and is delicious. You don't stick around as long as Besto has if you aren't doing something right. Disappointed in the vegetable soup and cornbread I just ordered to go. The soup looked good, but tasted about like dishwater. You could tell they had just microwaved the two corn bread muffins cause they were rubbery. Nasty!!! So, the vegetable soup, two rubbery corn bread muffins and a large "sweet" tea (that wasn't sweet) cost me $7.96!!! Yeah, I got ripped off! Besto is an Anderson Landmark for over 50 years! We love their Breakfast, they have super Hots dogs, Cheeseburgers, Country fried Steak Plates, Fish, etc. They also have many flavors of their own Homemade Ice Cream. I think that they have the best Hot Fudge and Bannana Splits in Anderson. read more
