Fish sandwich
Nancy C.

When you go into the restaurant you order at the register. A board on the wall is there once you walk in. You can eat in. It's an older diner but looks kept up. The people are very friendly. The food is prepared to order. I had a fish sandwich with onion rings. The fish was crispy and tender. My husband had the hamburger, they put everything on it that he asked for and fries. Typical burger joint; food tastes good. The fries were crinkle fries. A little on the soft/soggy side. Not crispy. They offer Brunswick stew too. The burgers are fresher than a chain burger place.

Incredible ice cream! Randomly decided to stop here one night and they created a whole off menu item to my request

Bible Study?!?! Wow

I know it must seem crazy to give a "fast food" type restaurant a 5 , but I don't care! This place is the BOMB ! Everyone is so welcoming. They are interested in their customers. Talked to me, a first time Besto customer, for 5 minutes... even though they were pretty busy. They kept working, but they were genuinely nice and made me feel so welcome. Others walked in and it's like they have known them their entire lives! Felt like home. *Food was terrific. *Cost was very fair for the amount you are given in each serving. *Atmosphere was average. Place could use a deep cleaning in the table areas. *People working there were phenomenal! * And where else can you go to eat and find a Bible Study?!??! I will definitely be back and I'm looking forward to those amazing, fluffy pancakes again!

I stopped by on a Friday evening for a couple hot dogs. They didn't take long at all and very phenomenal! Staff was excellent & nice family atmosphere. I recommend.

Talk about old school. This was an interesting discovery. There are several buildings including a…read moreFarmers market so I wasn't sure where the restaurant was. I went in the Farmer's Market first. It looks like an old barn. There were lots and lots of homemade choices- "canned" soup bases, fruits, vegetables, salsas, jams, flavored oils to name a few. There were also fresh fruits, nuts, honey, vegetables, dairy products and cakes. There are four areas you can eat. The main "restaurant" is small with only a few tables. Evidently it's a favorite of older local gentlemen to gather for an early breakfast. There is also the "Pig Sty," "The Chicken Coop" and the farmer's market area. Some of these can be cold in the winter and warm in the summer so dress accordingly. The farmer's market area is heated by a wood stove. The staff here are so friendly. It felt like we were visiting family. The food was good ole country food. The hubby and I each ordered the breakfast plate. I had coffee with my choice of several flavored creamers. If you pay in cash you get a discount. If you are in the area you should check it out. You can order from the breakfast or lunch menu. Plan to stay a few extra minutes and look around and support local farmers. We brought home some boiled peanuts. Fun experience and good breakfast.

The property overlooks the Hartwell Marina, and the front porch is adorable with its rocking chairs and windows to the bar. Inside, it's a deliciously divvy atmosphere with mismatched tables and chairs, high and low ones, and barside seating. They offer live music most (all?) nights that they are open. Always a bonus! I started with a craft cocktail of cucumber something but traded it in for a gin and tonic. My husband ordered his ushe of fried shrimp with onion rings and home fried potato chips. He said the shrimp was good and the onion rings and fried chips were as well. He would not eat the hushpuppies. We both found the outer shell to be tasty, but inside a bit tacky and without much flavor. I ordered grilled grouper which I felt came off the heat just a tad early for my taste. It was fresh enough, though. The green beans I ordered were right out of the can, but the mac & cheese was good. It is not grandmas's homemade fare, but if you like pasta and you like gooey cheese, you'll like this. In general, everything just needed some seasoning and a tweak. My husband ordered a chocolate chip cake which was their dessert offering for the day. It was delicious. Our service was pretty good, and I would give them another try.
