Such a cute little ice cream shop. I was in the area visiting family and they have the cutest little "hot chocolate stand" setup for the holidays. It was freezing outside so it made for the perfect treat! I tried their hot apple chair cider. So delicious and the staff was so kind. Great service. Doesn't matter if it's rain or shine, it's never a bad time for ice cream. Unless the ice cream isn't great. But even then, it's still not that bad. But this place however was absolutely wonderful. This is a cute little spot in a nice little shopping area. Plenty of street parking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have tons of flavors and toppings. We tried a variety of flavors today and everything was absolutely delicious. Definitely stop on by if you're in the area. Also they do free Clemson sprinkles on game day. read more

We love mama raes, why? BECAUSE ITS HOME. We live about 20 minutes from there but it's a small little joint with such a big heart. They always have little goodies and hunts for the kids. They're always so kind and give so much love in their business and service. They have a bunch of flavors and thankfully when I asked they had a milk alternative which some locally owned shops don't have. They have a super cute seating area to the side that's fenced in with activities for the kids. If you haven't been there go. They've set up a nice seating and relaxing area, including kids' play area outside; at night, they have the ability to play videos against an outside wall, although I've never seen this. While this is Hershey's (I think) ice cream and not homemade, I highly recommend this shop over Dairy Queen or TCBY - no brainer if you're in Pendleton, since Mama Rae's is in Pendleton's downtown, but it's also worth a trip from Clemson. read more

We always love coming to Mama Rae's. The staff is always very nice and fast. The ice cream is really good and there is quite a variety. There is a little courtyard for you sit and eat your treats while you play tic-tac-toe or checkers and you can bring your pet. There are things for the little ones to do as well. We like to get our ice cream and walk around the park across the street or sit at a park bench. read more

This is the cutest place in downtown Pendleton! My 2 year old and I LOVE walking from our house here! The owner is so nice and friendly and lets us taste any ice cream before ordering. She's great with kids and always holds a great conversation. They have an outdoor area with corn hole and huge legos (my sons favorite) and give out chalk for the kids to draw. It's a place I hope sticks around for a long time, because it reminds me of ice cream trips when I was a kid. Such a sweet business with great owners. read more
