The deep fried salmon was overcook so bad that it had the texture of leather. I always order the salmon and know what to expect and this was a huge disappointment. I would have sent it back but the resturant was jammed and I did not want to have the other party have to wait for the salmon to be re done. Fries were nearly cold. This meal was not fantastic. Ivar's needs to be able to cook a simple meal right. As I placed my ordered I noted the fry cook was having trouble keeping track of orders from the cashier. read more

9/8/17 Dinner was very disappointing. Ordered fettuccine with crab and it tasted like vegetable fettuccine. I had my heart set on Prime Rib, but they'd sold out by 6:30pm..... Really. I and my wife have been coming to this Ivar's for the past 6 years. We usually go during the hours of 9:00pm. on Friday's. There is a slender young lady, who has been there a very long time and is one of the BEST server, host. She is very fast, very proficient on what she does for the customers. I hope that Ivar's management team, see's that they have an investment, that should be made a manager and hopefully awarded for such a Great job. The food is always, fresh and hot. I swear, we don't wait no more than 5 mins. maybe its less. Its fast.... I will not go to any other Ivar's but this one. The server's are the best, and if there is an issue, they are quick to fix it. .Ivar's is such a Seattle institution - how can you not like their food? Service is always friendly and the quality of the food is consistent. I visit the Ivar's in Edmonds every once in a while because it's close to my work and there is no difference in the quality and service. I have found the restaurants to be clean also! read more

Treats their employees horrible. Makes them clock early even though they're still working, so they're working for free (even if it's only $6 that they lost, money is still money and needed at a time like this). Didn't give their employees the breaks they needed sometimes. Management is horrible and needs work. Minor or not, people need their breaks, even if it's only 10 minutes. read more

2 stars only for good service. $4 CUP of chowder that was just ok. $32 for an order of prawns and chips, clam strips and seafood combo. Minimal amount of clam strips in that basket and nothing like cold greasy fries...The combo...well, about 10 mini shrimps most of which were cooked...1 small piece of fish and a smattering of clam strips. The prawns looked ok. I have NEVER been an Ivars fan, respect the man but not the fast food. My wife and brother love it. I won't be back. I am a Seattle native and I only wish Skippers was still around. I would rather buy some filet-o-fish sandwiches and just eat that fish from Mickey D's. Better fries too. This was a major disappointment. The clams were so overdone you couldn't even tell what they were and were definitely inedible. I had ordered them to go so didn't see until I was home. It was too far to return. I have learned my lesson. If I want clam chowder I will possibly go there but never again for anything else. There is NO WAY the cook couldn't tell that they were burned. If you love fish you gotta love Ivar's! The chowder is also the best. The servers are on top of it to make sure everyone has everything they need. The fish is golden brown and just right and the prices are pretty good considering so overall the value is excellent. A great place to take the family for a relaxing lunch or dinner. This is by far my favorite Ivar's. I've been there several times in the past but not until last night did they bring your condiments to your table and your food as well. They were very courteous & friendly. The restaurant has always been very clean (big thing for me) and had consistently good food. I love the giant prawns with a small chowder. This was my first Ivar's experience, so maybe I just didn't know what to expect. I found the fish to be kind of soggy and the fries to be a little bland. I also thought the fish pieces were small for the price (not that it is very spendy), but I didn't mind that too much. I enjoyed the clams more but found those a bit soggy, too! Maybe I'm just not used to breaded cod and am partial to beer battered.. but either way, I wasn't super impressed. read more

Parents were craving clam chowder and this place had a lot of good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I got the # 1 fish and chips that came with a small cup of the award wining clam chowder. The fish and chips was a complete let down. No flavor at all and complete waste of money. The clam chowder however was pretty good but I would not go as far as award winning. Everytime I come here the food is delicious, fresh, and satisfies my seafood craving. It's a little pricey depending on what you order, but for the quality and portions you receive it is worth it! The customer service is always really nice here too! I'm always greeted with a smile and checked up on during my meal. I came here for dinner tonight, and forgot to ask if my meal came with a drink. When the girl checked up on our table, she informed me that it did not. She then ran and got me a cup and said it was on the house. I'm very happy with this place, I strongly recommend :) read more

First time here, I normally go to the restaurant in Mukilteo. Ordered the Cajun cod and was delicious. Clam chowder as excellent as expected. I was hit with a nice surprise at this location and that is an outstanding service, it was impressive on how the staff treated me as a valued customer and as if this was a 5 star restaurant. I was so excited to see that Ivars was back in Bothell. The menu has been updated with a few lighter items. Service was incredibly friendly and energetic. Unfortunately, we felt like the prices really jumped beyond reasonable considering the portions. I ordered the fish tacos and found one small piece of fish in each of the two tacos. My family and I are so glad Ivars is back in Bothell. We eat there about twice per week, we love it so much.This weekend,we ordered some new items they have on the menu. Coconut prawns/ sweet potato fries. Yummy! We liked so much we ordered a double order of just sweet potato fries. My daughter ordered the Asian Salad and was fresh and crispy. Great for fish & chips, etc. One in our party had clam strips, another had fried oysters. Both came hot and fresh. We also appreciated the healthier options, like the grilled fish and salad with crab (expensive for this type of place, but at least it wasn't fried). Glad to have an Ivars in Bothell again! We've been three time since they opened, and have yet to be disappointed. My husband and I love the Cajun fish, and our kids prefer the original cod. The fries at this location seem to taste better than those at other spots... Not as soggy, maybe? The restaurant has been packed each time we go, but the food is always out quickly. We love the other Ivar's locations we have been to and were thrilled when they opened near our house. You'll get the delicious fish and chips and chowder you're used to, plus some new menu items like fish tacos and crab cake sandwiches. What really makes it for me, though, is their staff. I was in on a busy weekend evening recently with a large to go order. When I got home, I realized several items I ordered were missing. Upon driving back to the store, the manager met me by name and apologized for not ensuring I had my complete order. He had my missing items plus some extra chowder packed up in no time. Anyone can make a mistake, but Ivar's recovery of the situation will definitely have us visiting again in the future. read more

It was my first time coming here and it was delicious. I got the 3 piece traditional cod with fries. It was fresh, hot and crispy. I liked the coating they used on the fish and the fish itself was nice and flaky. They also give you a ton of fries with your fish. I'm kinda bummed they don't have hush puppies but they made up for it everywhere else. I will definently be going back. Yummmm! read more

I have never written a review of a fast food restaurant, but then again, this was not a "fast food experience". I've been to other Ivars and have not been impressed, but this particular store - WOW! They took service and excellence to a new level. They brought the food to our table, offered to get our drinks for us from the soda dispenser (which was amazing in itself - whatever Coke product you ever thought of, is available). Came back to our table to ensure everything was ok. The fish and chips (chicken and onion rings in my case) were amazing and hot/sizzling and crisp. An added nice touch was a staff member coming around towards the end of our dinner offering chocolate mint and hand wipes. Was this fast food? I've been to elegant dining that offered less service than Ivars. Well worth the money spent and the excellent experience! read more
