The best pizza in town! The staff is so nice and they have the best fountain sodas too.

I only decided to check this place out because of all the positive yelp reviews and saw an advertisement saying they ranked as top pizza in Texas. Let me break down why I gave this place a one star review. I hate to be the one who writes a negative review, but when you claim to be the best your opening the door. Pizza Quality - 1/5 - only because they claim to be NY Style, which NY style isn't LOADED with cheese as this large pizza was. It was also very doughy with no crisp. Cheese wasn't very flavorful, greasy pie, and undercooked. Atmosphere - 2/5 Clean restaurant but not authentic Italian at all. I have never been to a true Italian restaurant that has a Godfather poster as you walk in. **You get what you pay for people 18" XXL Pizza for only $12.99 should be a red flag. It wasn't as good as I was hoping for. I ordered the pasta trio (lasagna, cannelloni, and manicotti). It arrived in an aluminum dish. I couldn't tell where one pasta started and the other ended. It was like a big bowl of cheese, noodles, and sauce. The garlic knot needed salt in a bad way. My daughter ordered the kids tortellini alfredo. The alfredo sauce was an extra $3!!! If you like pizza, this is the place to go! Their slices are huge! I can put some food away but after two slices I have to call it quits! They also have sandwiches/subs that are good. I don't get it, man! So many people rave about this place. We've eaten here three times over the last year. We came back twice just because of the high ranking on Yelp, thinking maybe we'd just went on a bad night or something. All three times none of us finished our meals. One time we had kids with us and they didn't even finish their pizza, which is a first. We've had a couple things off the menu and was dissapointed with all of them. The calzones were gross. Pizza is greasy and cheap tasting. Wait staff is hit or miss. Once we had a great waitress, she was extremely friendly and helpful. The other two times, the waitress had that "too cool for school" attitude that waitstaff sometimes get (I've worked in kitchens, bruh. Sometimes at popular places, the staff will get a little cocky. It happens). Two stars because they do give you a lot of food for your money. We just don't get it. Some people say this is the best pizza in town. We've had it three different times and thought it was pretty bad each time. So don't take my review as a "I am avoiding this place because of this review".....tons of people love this restaurant, so you should at least go check it out for yourself. We enjoy Italiano's once in a while, it's mainly that their X-Large carry out is only $12.99 & it feeds the whole family. I like their new location as well, since moving up the road there is more space & it seems much cleaner. Tonight we ordered the 20" half pepperoni, half cheese. The overwhelming grease was quite off putting, when taking a slice out, it was very soft and fell apart in the center. It seemed undercooked and very doughy. We visit a lot of local hometown places, but this was not their best pizza by far. Perhaps they have a new cook? Either way, I had to take my pizza home and rebake it before it was edible. I shouldn't have to bake my own pizza when I order out. Will try again maybe in a few months to see if they can work the kinks out. read more

My husband is from New York so he knows New York style pizza. I've heard this is the best place in town, so tonight I decided to go for the first time. I bought two 20" pizzas and a few other things. I can say tat this is the first place my husband has been to in Texas that he says is LEGIT NY style pizza (minus the brick oven part) they Permanently have our business while we live here. Italiano's is amazing! Super delicious food, quick service. The prices are a little on the higher end but it is worth the quality of their food. Their pizza rolls are amazing, any Alfredo based pasta is yummy. Their desserts are delicious and fresh. Definitely a place I'd recommend for traveling or date night. read more

First time coming to their new location on 31st street. We ordered pizza by the slice and I got a spinach& cheese roll. Pizza was greasy but delicious! My spinach roll was burned on one side but the part I was able to eat was delicious. Took off one star for the customer service. The lady that took our order didn't say "hello" or anything...just not welcoming and the lady who brought us our meal (also seemed to be a long wait for pizza that was already made...‍) looked like she was ready for her smoke break. Italianos was an exceptional, quaint restaurant. Appearance can be misleading. It truly is a diamond in the rough. I had no desire to even try this restaurant. However, many people have highly recommended this establishment. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the pizza was. On a different occasion we decided to try their sandwiches. It's really good for what you pay. It's kinda like fast food Italian and sometimes that's exactly what I want. I've been here 2 times now and I don't have any complaints. Now I've had gourmet pizza, specialty pizza, even pizza in Italy and of course this doesn't compare. This is good pizza at a good price and it delivers exactly what you would expect. $2.95 for a giant supreme slice of pizza. That's a pretty good deal. They heat it up so it tastes even more fresh. I like a thinner Crust so that's what they have. I've had the chicken Parmesan and meatball and it was pretty good too. It's like 5.99 so what would you expect? I see this being a great teenagers hangout bc it's cheap and offers good and fast food. If anyone complains about the food then they need to go somewhere else bc they have misguided expectations. I give this place two stars bc the pizza was okay. I came to visit my husband for weekend bc he's working over here and I was tired from the drive & didn't feel like going anywhere so we ordered delivery & this place was only 4 min away from hotel. I ordered pizza, salad, & wings. The lid to the salad wasn't secure so I almost dropped it & the thousand island dressing was too thick. Salad was not worth $12. The wings were extremely hard! For a $62 total I was so disappointed especially after it being a high rated restaurant. I will not eat here again, and wouldn't recommend DELIVERY. Easily the best pizza in the Temple area. This is the closest to NY style that you're going to find. We spent 4 months in Queens for work and this is so similar to the thin, chewy-crusted goodness that is NY pizza. This is a small, come-as-you-are eatery with zero pretense. Hole-in-the-wall Stromboli and pizza joint deserving of a mixed review. The atmosphere and service= 3 stars. The side salad (too much white iceberg lettuce)= 2 stars. The Stromboli itself (ask for sauce on the side or they will pour it over the top)= 5 stars! It was really good- crispy crust, tasty inside, good marinara to boot... The best Caesar dressing and pizza I've found in Central Texas! The food was fresh, delicious and the pizza affordable. I do have some complaints though. #1 The tea comes out of the soda fountain. #2. The Caesar salad was served in a paper bowl with the dressing on the side. It was a good salad, but it was advertised as a half salad and in reality it was an over priced small side salad. I've never had a Cesar salad that wasn't tossed with dressing and it was really disappointing. We will definitely be back, but I think we'll order to-go next time. read more
