Went on a road trip today, that brought us back through Salado. We decided to drive down Main Street and take a look at this adorable historical little town. My husband said PIZZA, so we decided it was time to get out, stretch our legs and grab some food! First impression: how cozy. Brian met and greeted us with such enthusiasm. He had great suggestions for a quick small bite! They offer pizza, pasta, a little salad bar with fresh scooped, to order, ice cream. They had it all!! We received the most delicious personal pan pepperoni pizza. Delicious, bite after bite and then made us realize, we needed to take an extra one home. We met the owner, Carol and her husband Wayne. This place was great! I got fettuccine Alfredo, and my mother got a calzone. The Alfredo was great, 5 stars. Their service is good, but their salad bar looks gross- I wouldn't recommend eating from it ngl. This place looks like how I think old fashioned pizza places should look. Easily the worst wings I've ever had. If I wasn't in a hurry to get home, I would have returned them. When I was a few miles down the road and finally saw that they were burnt. I tasted them, and not only was the Parmesan flavor missing, the dry wing itself contained an overbearing burnt garlic flavor. This experience was a bit surprising as the staff seemed very polite and engaged, the family enjoyed the pizza, and the restaurant itself was clean. Have only been in one time so far about two weeks ago and ordered a basil pesto pizza with different toppings and it was extremely good. I will say though charging a $1 for a 4 ounce cup of ranch is ridiculous, however, the ranch was good it's like my homemade one. Decent selection of craft beer which was good as well. As far as service, didn't have any issue with it. The kid (early 20's) carried himself like he hated having to be at work. Kinda like when you have a teenager that has to do something they really hate doing and they slouch around with attitude. The overall feel of the place was good. All in all - while not fancy the food was GREAT!!!! Again, the jalapeño bread sticks - wow!!!! The place definitely reminded me of a pizzeria I used to go to after school back in NY called Rosario's. Where the effort was placed on the quality of the food and not just decor.... The place is clean - so no worries there!! I really really hope the owner sees this and here's it out... I came in this afternoon and the place was completely empty. I brought my family in and my mom who was paying separate. That's 2 tables. Another lady came in that was picking up a to go order. The gentleman at the desk was completely arid. I said we have only been here once so please be patient, as it was pretty clear he was annoyed and wanted me to order fast. Absolute 0 kindness, hospitality, anything. That's not the personality you want at the front of your store. We order water cups (12oz) and we're charged .25. Seems a bit ridiculous it ok? Then comes the aggressive signs posted all over. (See pics). Honestly, Salado isn't really a town that needs such signs... but, if you are SO concerned about people taking a scoop of ranch, I would highly suggest changing the verbiage. It's so off putting. Not to mention the tepid environment and staff. Also we asked if the cook could do have pepperoni on the pizza and we're told no we needed to order 2 separate pizzas. The logic behind this when there is NO ONE at your store, and we would be paying full price for pepperoni is absurd. I didn't ask for this at 7pm on a Friday night with a full building and to go tickets everywhere. There may be a reason why your place is so slow. Your lost 2 family of customers today. Taking down the signs right off the bat would make your establishment much more inviting. Totally and completely off putting. read more

This has just became one of my favorite family spots! The pizza, breadsticks, and salad bar was delicious. Pizza was a bit more expensive. The service was helpful and courteous. The location was good and business was clean. I will totally be going back. I had three boys 14,12 and 8 and a large, X-Large , 8 piece breadstick, and 6 scoops of ice cream was was more than enough to fill us all. Highly recommend and don't miss out. read more

Came on a Sunday afternoon after church. Not super busy but it took a good while to get our food. I ordered a personal pizza and cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were kind of burnt on the edges and tasted a little weird. I didn't hate them but I have for sure had better. The pizza was also not my favorite. Their red sauce had a particular taste that I was not a fan of. The pizza kind of tasted like it was from Chuck E. Cheese in my opinion. My friend Emily really liked her alfredo pizza though so maybe I should have gotten then instead. The atmosphere felt like it was straight out of a 90's sitcom. I was coming thru from temple to San Antonio. Was craving good non chain pizza found the spot. The reviews were 50/50 it seemed so I decided to go have my own experience without expectations. This is what I got; 1 sm thin pepperoni & banana pepper Flavor was great, however burnt on edges and soggy middle. Believe it's a temp/cook time issue. The guy that greeted me was off putting. Big guy in bright orange shirt wearing a mask says "hi" I said "hello, give me a sec it's my first time" he proceeds to not respond and just turns around & goes to the back, never to be seen again until he brought my pizza out. The lady that came & took my order was polite enough I tipped over 25% (fam/vet owned so I tipped more than I should've) I happened to be outside when my pizza was ready, the only reason I knew it was ready, same big guy from beginning opened the door looked at me and closed the door, no "hey your foods here" or "order #36" just opened the door & closed it. Luckily I sat by the window so I saw him set it down & walk off so I went inside to see my burnt pizza. I was working so I just ate and left without complaint. The inside is neat kinda 90's feel, being a 90's baby I enjoyed it. How ever there was zero salad at the salad bar, just cold pasta (1). I hate to say my first visit will be my last. I rarely talk bad about any business as you can tell from my reviews. We moved to Salado about a year ago. I love my pizza being from the North-East. We tried this pizza and i was hooked. We ordered here all the time. Recently we stopped. Past 4 times over the course of 5 months my son, my wife and myself got sick. Cant officially blame here however, itvwas aftwr we ate here. In the bathroom for 3 days. I am not sure what happened but the food quality went downhill. We have yet to order since. That was 3 months ago. read more

Let me tell you about this little restaurant... I took the dance team of 37 high schoolers I direct to this little pizza place before the Salado parade. They worked so hard to get food out quickly to all of us! The team members did have to wait in line quite a while, but we expect that when we bombard a restaurant and can't make a reservation. We all ordered different items, from pizza to wings to salads and calzones. When teenage girls ask for to-go boxes, when they literally have no bus to store the food on, you know the food was good! The manager (might have been the owner) was very sweet and accommodating. They were consistently clearing tables and we had no problem finding seating for all of us. We absolutely will not be returning. Found a hair in the pizza, mold inside the ice cubes for our drinks and the workers were not the most pleasant smelling people. Wings were tough and pizza was alright. But all those other things combined were enough to make up our minds. read more

We are in the Salado area quite often usually at Chupacabra or Barrow Brewing. We have been meaning to stop by...since pizza is one of our favorite foods. This used to be the only pizza place in town, so not sure if they've become complacent or just no previous competition. The first no-no is canned mushrooms! No excuse mushrooms are inexpensive and easy to slice. Canned has a strange taste, texture, and color. Pizza was very salty we couldn't tell if it was the crust itself or something brushed on before baking? Frozen pizza was what came to mind when trying to describe the taste. On the upside the front of the house was spotlessly clean and so was the restroom and that gets huge points!! Excellent location in on Main Street. The young lady at the counter was very polite and friendly. Plenty of potential here. They just need to think outside the box...a bit more artisan less Papa Johns. read more

Went here with my wife for the 1st time a couple months ago. We loved it. They make everything by hand. The personal pizzas are good, the pepperoni rolls are good, the personalized hand made calzones are good, the wings are good. Everything we have tried we loved. Did I mention they have a salad bar?
