My wife and I have been here several times for date nights and have never had a bad experience. The pizza is excellent. It's a really good wood-fired pizza with a great crust, and it's what keeps us coming back. They have a lot of beers on tap and usually have some interesting seasonal cocktails as well. Service has always been friendly, and it's a nice little restaurant without feeling overly fancy. It can get pretty busy, and Holland is a little out of the way for us, but we've always felt like it was worth the drive. Good pizza, cold beer, nice people, and a great little place for a casual date night. We'll definitely keep coming back. read more

First time here and I honestly didn't know what I wanted to order, but my server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. I told her what I was in the mood for and her recommendation was spot on! It was probably the best pasta I've had since moving here, and I'm definitely coming back to try more of the menu. She also made the drinks herself, and you could tell she was a pro. Every drink was delicious and well made. I also had a beer, and it was ice cold and refreshing. Definitely hit the spot. The inside of the restaurant was also a pleasant surprise. For starters the outside is very attractive, great cur appeal, and the inside didnt disappoint. Once inside, it was nice and cool, and very cleansing appearance. I ordered the canivor pizza and a Dr. Pepper. I wish they had fountain drinks, but I made it work with one can. The pizza arrived and the appearance did not disappoint. It was very hot and fresh, and forst bite hit good. Very delicious and the texture of the ingredients and the crust was spot on. Everything about the pizza was great. Fresh ingredients, and a crusty but chewy pizza crust, hits all the spots when cooking dinner at home isn't what's on the menu. The carnivore is a pie full of flavor and all the meats. The onion adds just the right amount of tang to cut the richness. The chicken bacon and ranch pizza is something different but def worth trying, delicious all around with that grilled chicken and real bacon. We also got the citrus salad. It's light and perfect accompaniment to our dinner. The vinaigrette is flavorful and not over bearing in flavor with the cranberries and HUGE walnut pieces. The fresh cheese brings it all together for a nice salty bite. This salad is great as is, but we added it to the top of the pizza, and it made for the perfect slice. These pizzas are 12', fed 2 people with the entree size salad and we had plenty of leftovers. Could have easily fed 3-4 people happily. read more

Our family dined in this historical building in Holland, Texas. The restaurant was super cute, mom and Pop Italian restaurant. I ordered the Caprese sandwich which was made with woodfired bread. That was absolutely amazing. The fresh slice mozzarella cheese was drizzled with balsamic vinegar, tomatoes, and arugula. It was so scrumptious! my sister shared some of her Italian salad with me before my sandwich arrived, and that was very good and hearty with Housemade dressing,l and fresh Italian meat. I ordered the apple cider margarita cocktail that was spiced wonderfully for the season, served with a dehydrated apple slice on top. I love this restaurant and look forward to going back in the future and trying a different dish. read more

First the good. The non-pizza menu, while short, has a good sampling of Italian classics. I had the Penne Arrabbiata and my partner had Rigatoni Bolognese and both were very good. I had a choice of adding chicken or shrimp to my dinner, but I wish there had been an option to add beef or pork too. There is a full bar available with a pretty long list of cocktails. We were impressed enough to go back to try other entrees! Now, the bad. This is a pretty ambitious restaurant in a small town and they have hard choices to make. It's currently a pretty self-serve format and the food deserves better. I hope they are successful enough to be able to add more staff soon. read more

The food is okay, there is a limited menu. Service is horrible, with a side of attitude from a teenage girl. The only nice employee is the young man behind the bar. Even the manager/owner was rude when I told him that I waited for my pizza, and then when the server finally realized who the pizza belonged to she slapped it on the table and walked away without a word. Customer service speaks volumes in a small town. EVERYTHING is self service, silverware, plates, napkins, water(if it's working). One positive best thing about the restaurant is that the bartender is friendly. It's not likely we will be back. read more

This is a cute spot in the midst of a town with limited options. The interior is nicely decorated and welcoming, although we weren't quite sure what the overall theme was between the food and the photos on the walls? You order at the counter and can leave your tab open. Since it was our first visit, we were still figuring out how everything worked. The girl at the counter told us to order there and sit wherever we'd like, which was fine. I asked for a glass of water, and she said they didn't have that, then walked off to deliver an order before taking my husband's drink request. Once she returned, I ordered a sparkling water since that was the only option visible. As we walked away, she casually mentioned there was a water station at the end of the bar. I'm sorry what? I just asked for a glass of water and she said they didn't have that, but I walked to the end of the bar and sure enjoy there is a station for glasses of ice water? Our appetizer came out fairly quickly. When the server dropped it off, she asked if we needed anything else, and I said yes, napkins and silverware. It turns out there's a self-serve station for those items near the register, but we hadn't noticed it since it was our first time. A simple mention from the staff would've gone a long way in making the experience smoother. We arrived around 5:40 PM and later noticed a sign outside that said Happy Hour 3:30-6:00. It would've been nice if the bartender had mentioned that when we ordered, as we were still within that time window. Overall, it seems like this place may assume people already knows how things work, which can make first-time guests feel a bit lost. That said, the food was delicious and fresh, the atmosphere was charming, and the restaurant (including the bathrooms) was very clean. I'd definitely give it another try now that I know what to expect. This was my birthday choice for dinner so I was disappointed, but as stated, the food was good. read more

I work nearby and decided to stop in on my way home, and I'm so glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised from start to finish. I sat at the bar and ordered the burrata prosciutto along with a house margarita--both were absolutely fantastic. The portion size was generous, and the flavors were incredible--fresh, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. You can really tell this is a small, family-owned spot that takes pride in what they serve. Was so excited to try Svizzero. Small place but 4/5 open tables when we got there. Ordered food at 5:50pm. Food came at 7:10pm. Hostess had left and no wait staff, so unable to order more drinks while we waited. Food was good. Tried to order dessert but were told the kitchen wasn't taking orders. Left at 7:45pm. A family friend recommended Svizzero. It's housed in a historical building and parking was easy. We enjoyed the beer, espresso, gelato, and pizza. We especially liked the pizza crust and were surprised the see the pizza diavola on the menu, as we've mostly seen this as a standing item on menus in Europe. The bartender was welcoming and friendly. There was a steady flow of customers coming into order take out and a steady flow to dine in. I don't know how long this place has been here but it is so cute inside and relaxed. The staff was all very friendly with our group of 9 including some little ones. The menu is simple but with something for everyone. The food was delicious. We all sampled off each other's plate and there wasn't anything we didn't like. The Gelato was a hit too!
