The ambience is very loud. It can be difficult to hear and you feel like shouting. This ruins the romantic "date night" feel for me. The service was excellent. Our waitress was "Augie" (short for Augustina) The food was the big surprise. The bread was amazing as was the dipping oil. The garlic butter with honey was wonderful on the bread. We got the tomato soup and it was one of the best I have had in a very long time. We got the eggplant rollitini. The butterfly pasta was the star of the dish. While the eggplant was excellent the butterfly pasta I could have eaten every day. The green beans were a little over cooked but still not bad. I will include a picture of the HUGE slice of chocolate cake I received. I will be eating it for a week. The price for four people was $150. So it was not outrageous. Recommended. read more

We chose Pignetti's for my wife's birthday dinner because we wanted to see if it would be worth returning once Temple starts charging for parking. Consider this our "test run." The evening started with a game of Restaurant Hide and Seek. After being seated, we sat for quite a while wondering if we were part of a social experiment--no water, no menus, no acknowledgment. Eventually a waiter arrived and, very honestly, said he was there to take our order because we'd been "ignored." Accurate assessment. We placed our order, and later a woman who appeared to be a manager brought out our appetizer, apologized for no one taking care of us, and said the appetizer would be comped. A very nice gesture--unfortunately one that didn't make it to the bill, where the appetizer showed up like it never heard that conversation. The food itself? Genuinely good. No complaints there. However, my wife's Caesar salad never arrived. She didn't bring it up because, frankly, after the earlier disappearing-staff act, it felt like tempting fate. We paid the bill (about $100), including a surprise 3% credit card fee we didn't see posted anywhere. We opted to take dessert home, mostly because the night already felt complete... enough. Bottom line: the food has real potential, but the service needs leadership, consistency, and maybe a map. It's hard to justify coming back in the future when you factor in parking fees, credit card fees, and the possibility of being politely ignored on a special occasion. Absolute gem of an Italian restaurant hidden in a large town in Temple, TX! I honestly did not have any expectations going in, and I found the food to be delicious. Serving staff was kind and courteous. I ordered their bread basket - which had a tasteful crunch for each piece of bread (and worth the $5)! I also got their beef stroganoff and was beyond impressed with the dish! Props to the kitchen. If I ever find myself back in Temple, I will return for sure, hungry for more! read more

Birthday Dinner at PIGNETTI'S we are new to the area and trying out restaurants in downtown Temple, TX. They have only been opening three weeks prior from the Tornado of last year. Great Italian food like I am use to from New York. Everything was excellent, both owners were walking around talking to customers and so was the manager, Shannon who chatted with us for awhile and gave us some tips on other restaurants in the downtown area. Wife had Chicken Picatta, her favorite dish and she loved it. The Bread basket with Oil was great nice hot fresh bread to dip in the hard oil. The Rib Eye Lasagna was very good a little different with the Rib Eye but delicious all the way through. Our waiter Daniel was outstanding and always ready to answer any questions we had. They do not serve hard liquor cause they do not have that type license, they have a wine club on site. Over all a very pleasant and wonderful evening we will be back a few more dishes we have to try. We rented the private room next to the main restaurant for a work event for about 40 peeps. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The tables were nicely sett and we ordered a set menu buffet style of steak, chicken, ravioli, veggies, and mashed potatoes. The food was tasty and nicely prepared. Drinks and cocktails were aplenty and we all were able to converse and have a good time. The cost wasn't bad either, a few thousand. Pignetti's - A Memorable Dining Experience My wife and I were looking for a romantic dinner date night and decided to try Pignetti's in Temple, Texas. The glowing reviews for this fine-dining Italian restaurant convinced us to give it a shot--and I'm so glad we did! First, I called to make a reservation, but they only had tables available later that night. I explained that it was just the two of us, and the manager was incredibly gracious in finding a spot for us despite the busy schedule. Second, our waiter was exceptional--attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We ordered the filet mignon and the salmon Alejandro. My salmon was cooked perfectly, with an ideal temperature and portion size, and served alongside a generous bed of vegetables. I also tasted my wife's filet mignon--it was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection (medium), accompanied by potatoes and green beans. The owner, Clinton, stopped by our table, and I have to say, he's an incredibly likable guy--warm and welcoming, which adds to the cozy, inviting atmosphere of the place. I highly recommend Pignetti's for anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience! (We got to meet Clinton the next day. He was super hospitable and shared some of his wine brand and his story with us. We spent a fair amount of time discussing life, religion, wine, and family.) read more

Pignetti's is a nicer Italian restaurant that is great for the upscale vibes, but the service left something to be desired. My friends and I made a large reservation for 14. The food and atmosphere were excellent, but we would describe the service as bizarre. They only gave menus for every other seat, although the restaurant wasn't full, so it was concerning that they didn't have enough menus. The server was very insistent on taking our wine glasses if we didn't order anything to drink. Maybe that's just protocol, but it felt very odd. I'm not picky at all about service, but we got really weird vibes from the server as it felt she did not really care about being nice to us, which we felt may have been because we were a group of young people. This felt so odd because this is a nicer restaurant where we would expect the service to be nicer as well. We later discovered there was an automatic gratuity of 20% charged for large parties, so perhaps the server didn't care to make a good impression because of that. They also charged a 3% service fee (credit card fee?) in addition to the automatic gratuity, which didn't feel right for such a well-established restaurant. I understand this for hole-in-the-wall restaurants that prefer cash, but a nice restaurant that already charges high prices imparting the credit card fee onto customers is kind of absurd. One of my friends asked if this is illegal, but I believe it is legal in Texas and may have been recently outlawed in California. Apart from these charges and the poor service, we really enjoyed the food. My friend and I shared the black truffle sacchetti. The flavour was delicious. Because we were sharing, the portion was very small. However, a full portion would not have been enough for me either if I were hungry. I really savoured every bite of it. read more

We had a delicious dinner here! We made reservations ahead of time so there was no wait. Service was prompt and efficient. Don't skip the bread basket. I know, I know, it sucks that you pay for it. Just do it! It's worth it! No wine for us, we were skipping out to go to The Parlour right after so no need to imbibe. I had the mushroom ravioli and my husband had the veal scaloppini and they were both fantastic. A bit rich but wonderful! Only complaint is that we got seated right next to the step down and every time someone came into the room, which is a lot, it shook my seat. Nothing horrible but got a bit annoying. We came here for a late dinner last night. It was our first time back since the tornado. They did an amazing job with the decoration, environment, lighting of the smaller room. I had dinner last night at Pignetti's with my son and granddaughter. They were on their way to a Father Daughter Dance and he wanted to eat somewhere special. Pignettis was a good call. My son ordered the blackened red fish, my granddaughter chose the filet, and I got the Meatballs Arrabiata. We all enjoyed our meals. I even had enough leftovers for lunch today. I do not EVER recall having a restaurant charge a CC fee for 2 people automatically. I also think it is absurd to ask us to pay for bread. It should be built in to the entree cost and automatically brought to the table like in every other Italian restaurant I have ever visited for the past 50 years. The tables were tight so you could see the waiters having a little trouble maneuvering around and also enabled the restaurant to be a little noisy. My Filet Mignon, was good but slightly undercooked. My date had the salmon which also was not exactly the way she requested. But note that overall we did have a pleasant experience and will probably return. But I will have to bring cash or a check to avoid the CC fee. In today's society, using a CC is pretty standard and businesses need to understand it is essentially the cost of doing business - so again, build it into your pricing! read more

Came in as a party of four around 5 and IMMEDITALY got seated. Our waitress Anya (sorry if I spelt that wrong), was amazing, made sure our drinks never got empty and constantly was making sure we were doing good and was very friendly. We all ordered a pepperoni pizza, chicken Caesar salad, heirloom Margherita (gluten free cauliflower crust), and Fettuccine Pignetti but with GF Penne. The ambience is very nice, a bit on the romantic side since lights are dim and candlelight at the table. Lots of tables inside, and has a very exquisite wine collection. Caesar salad was great, had j the right amount of dressing and wasn't too tart. Pizzas weren't the greatest, it was definitely a bit overpriced for what we got but it was on the nicer side of dining. They had a gluten free crust, which came in a medium size (if I remember correctly). The Margherita was good, had a good ratio of tomato and basil and cheese. Definitely would come back for a date night but not a family outing unless it was celebrating something. read more

Hell's bells! This spot was delicious and PACKED on a Friday night! Hubs Yelped it, I obliged, and we both got more than we bargained for. His truffle pasta was handmade (I could tell) and delicious (I tasted it) , and my blackened salmon salad was effing amazing! I'm not even a "salad for dinner" girl, but it was recommended, I went with it, and I'm so glad I did. The salmon was cooked beautifully - not over, just perfect. We also tried the creme brulee for dessert and while it hadn't had time to fully set (I'm sure as busy as they were, orders were flying out of the fridge), I can't even knock it as it was still so tasty and the vanilla bean was popping. I would have like to see some sort of berry garnish to make it more appealing to the eye, but again, the flavor was spot on without the bells and whistles, so I'll move on. This was our first bad meal at Pignetti's over several years, and it was really bad. We went for my wife's birthday dinner (no one asked if this was a special occasion), and we both had the Iron Table Steak Pizziola (see photograph of description). The meat was HEAVILY, not "lightly" breaded. The sauce seemed to have come from a jar. The mozzarella was thick and over abundant. Our server said the meat was cooked medium. but it was severely overdone. The final nail in this coffin meal was the gristle present in my wife's meat. Pignetti's has been one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Temple since I've lived here. They recently sized their menu down which I actually prefer. We went relatively late for dinner, but the staff were all still efficient and friendly. The pours of wine are large and our waitress was able to answer several questions about the wines and seemed knowledgeable. For an appetizer, we had the smoked beef arancini, and it was delicious!! I just wish there were more than four pieces. For my entree, I had the meatballs arribata - very tasty and a great portion size. The restaurant was clean and put together well. Had a 7 pm reservation at Pignetti's for 4 people on a Saturday night and we had to wait 40 minutes for our table, past 7:30. The host apologized but no one else at the restaurant acknowledged this, and no one offered us anything as a gesture. Instead, the waiter showed up and asked us at the beginning if we wanted bread, without mentioning that they were going to charge us $5 for it (?), which they later did. Bread and butter is literally table stakes at an Italian restaurant, and after the long wait past our reservation time, this was insult upon injury. I'm surprised they didn't charge us for water. Someone else at the restaurant mentioned that Pignetti's makes people wait long past their reservation times every Saturday night, which means that these wait times are not a fluke but are actually predictable and purposeful overbooking--which is exploitative, like the airlines. The food was decent, although a little slow. My chair was situated near a doorway and too close to another chair, so people were bumping into me the whole time. When the manager stopped by our table, he didn't mention the wait or ask if everything was ok, but instead just asked how the food tasted. We said it was fine and he left. Then the bill apparently has an excessive 5% credit card fee that no one mentions. In this way, Pignetti's seems happy to continue on its cynical path without improving, and losing customers like us in the process. All in all, disappointing. read more

First impression... nice ambiance. Limited menu due to remodeling (?) but found some good options. Food came out and two of three entrees were like warm... like they'd been sitting out for a while. The third entree was the filet mignon and it was undercooked and we had asked for medium rare and it came out very rare. Server was nice but argued with my mom over the menu item that he told her she 'overlooked' but then he changed his toon when he looked for it on the menu and saw it was in fact not there. Seemed a bit rude and hasty. Not going to come back to this spot. This was our second time here and neither time were memorable in a good way. :-/ read more

What a gem in temple. We dived so quickly into food didn't even take a picture. Sean was an amazing waiter and sommelier. Started with the meatballs which had the best marinara to it. Went onto the tomato basil soup which so simple but blew us away! Lastly, special of the night was Osso Buco served over mashed potatoes. Everything was amazing. I even bought their olive oil mix for the bread. Can't wait to drive back through for a meal. read more
