Absolute gem of an Italian restaurant hidden in a large town in Temple, TX! I honestly did not have any expectations going in, and I found the food to be delicious. Serving staff was kind and courteous. I ordered their bread basket - which had a tasteful crunch for each piece of bread (and worth the $5)! I also got their beef stroganoff and was beyond impressed with the dish! Props to the kitchen. If I ever find myself back in Temple, I will return for sure, hungry for more!

A group of friends and I were looking to have some good food on a busy Saturday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Our server Shawn was so attentive and made our experience go from "good" to "pretty awesome". His recommendations for the house wine and the catch of the day were spot on. The birthday girl had a good time and some delicious house-made creme brûlée.

We talked in the renovated Pignetti's; people were kind and welcoming. We sat down and the wait for Sean was training Sarah. Bithe were kind and energetic. We ordered the blackened redfish, lobster ravioli and shrimp pasta. The food was tasty and consistent with the price. We finished with the creme brulee and had a wonderful evening.

Birthday Dinner at PIGNETTI'S we are new to the area and trying out restaurants in downtown Temple, TX. They have only been opening three weeks prior from the Tornado of last year. Great Italian food like I am use to from New York. Everything was excellent, both owners were walking around talking to customers and so was the manager, Shannon who chatted with us for awhile and gave us some tips on other restaurants in the downtown area. Wife had Chicken Picatta, her favorite dish and she loved it. The Bread basket with Oil was great nice hot fresh bread to dip in the hard oil. The Rib Eye Lasagna was very good a little different with the Rib Eye but delicious all the way through. Our waiter Daniel was outstanding and always ready to answer any questions we had. They do not serve hard liquor cause they do not have that type license, they have a wine club on site. Over all a very pleasant and wonderful evening we will be back a few more dishes we have to try. Keep up the great work

Awesome place! Great wine selection, excellent food and the service is always pleasant. Our server Pearl was so nice and knowledgeable. As a New Yorker it was awesome to get great bread and olive oil with my red wine after a year deployed overseas! The sales were fresh and my dinner mates loved the lasagna, osso bucco and the candied bacon appetizer. Definitely check them out!

I found this place through Yelp since it has a great rating. And it was a nice place for dinner. I had order a mushroom pasta, A spritzer. I this was the best pasta I had lately and also my best Spritz so far. My husband had a mussels dish and it was pretty tasty too!

We rented the private room next to the main restaurant for a work event for about 40 peeps. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The tables were nicely sett and we ordered a set menu buffet style of steak, chicken, ravioli, veggies, and mashed potatoes. The food was tasty and nicely prepared. Drinks and cocktails were aplenty and we all were able to converse and have a good time. The cost wasn't bad either, a few thousand. The restaurant itself is one of the better restaurants in Temple.

It is a cozy place with great music and the perfect ambience

Pignetti's - A Memorable Dining Experience My wife and I were looking for a romantic dinner date night and decided to try Pignetti's in Temple, Texas. The glowing reviews for this fine-dining Italian restaurant convinced us to give it a shot--and I'm so glad we did! First, I called to make a reservation, but they only had tables available later that night. I explained that it was just the two of us, and the manager was incredibly gracious in finding a spot for us despite the busy schedule. Second, our waiter was exceptional--attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We ordered the filet mignon and the salmon Alejandro. My salmon was cooked perfectly, with an ideal temperature and portion size, and served alongside a generous bed of vegetables. I also tasted my wife's filet mignon--it was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection (medium), accompanied by potatoes and green beans. The owner, Clinton, stopped by our table, and I have to say, he's an incredibly likable guy--warm and welcoming, which adds to the cozy, inviting atmosphere of the place. I highly recommend Pignetti's for anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience! (We got to meet Clinton the next day. He was super hospitable and shared some of his wine brand and his story with us. We spent a fair amount of time discussing life, religion, wine, and family.)

Pignetti's is a nicer Italian restaurant that is great for the upscale vibes, but the service left something to be desired. My friends and I made a large reservation for 14. The food and atmosphere were excellent, but we would describe the service as bizarre. They only gave menus for every other seat, although the restaurant wasn't full, so it was concerning that they didn't have enough menus. The server was very insistent on taking our wine glasses if we didn't order anything to drink. Maybe that's just protocol, but it felt very odd. I'm not picky at all about service, but we got really weird vibes from the server as it felt she did not really care about being nice to us, which we felt may have been because we were a group of young people. This felt so odd because this is a nicer restaurant where we would expect the service to be nicer as well. We later discovered there was an automatic gratuity of 20% charged for large parties, so perhaps the server didn't care to make a good impression because of that. They also charged a 3% service fee (credit card fee?) in addition to the automatic gratuity, which didn't feel right for such a well-established restaurant. I understand this for hole-in-the-wall restaurants that prefer cash, but a nice restaurant that already charges high prices imparting the credit card fee onto customers is kind of absurd. One of my friends asked if this is illegal, but I believe it is legal in Texas and may have been recently outlawed in California. Apart from these charges and the poor service, we really enjoyed the food. My friend and I shared the black truffle sacchetti. The flavour was delicious. Because we were sharing, the portion was very small. However, a full portion would not have been enough for me either if I were hungry. I really savoured every bite of it.

Was super disappointed about this one. Locals suggested the place and we did a delivery order on the weekend. The pizza wasn't cooked all the way through and the spaghetti was terrible. We love Italian and didn't finish either. I wouldn't call authentic Italian. The only saving grace was the deviled eggs.

Since it's a small space and echoey, we could not hear ourselves over the group of people talking. Drinks: We started with the Queen Bee cocktail and a red wine. The cocktail was good but I didn't feel the mixture of flavors worked well for my taste. I can't recall the name of the wine but it was a nice wine to pair with red meat. Appetizers: we started with the fried green tomatoes and the Caesar wedge salad. The tomatoes were a little bland and came out cold (not sure if that was on purpose?). The wedge was good but was slathered in dressing which made it a little too rich. *Side note: I realized after we left that complimentary bread was mentioned on the appetizer menu, but I'm unclear if we had to ask for that...? It was never offered nor brought out. I decided against ordering the French baguette because I assumed there was complimentary bread. Entrees: I had the Ravioli Diablo and my husband tried the Sea Bass special that came with clams, mussels and lobster ravioli. The Ravioli Diablo was just OK, kind of a small portion. For the special, he liked the mussels but thought the sea bass was a little overdone. In hindsight, there was a lot going on with that plate; the ravioli was a bit out of place and it could've used a nice risotto or rice instead. Dessert: we tried ordering Creme brulee but they were out so we ordered the "brown butter" cheesecake instead...I'm including the description from the menu and a picture of the bare cheesecake loaf I received with no toppings (I took the picture after my husband took a bite). I'm actually most disappointed about this since I was hoping it would be the part of the meal to make up for the mediocrity of everything else. "Vanilla bean brown butter with candied pecans and soft whipped cream" Honestly I tried to be optimistic but it was overall not the experience I was hoping for. Especially for a $200 bill.

I thankfully read the reviews in advance and learned about the surprise "non-cash adjustment" fee, so I came prepared, but this was troubling. I liked the booth seating in the restaurant and the cozy vibes. The food was mixed. They gave us complimentary garlic bread, which was pretty good. I opted for the chicken fettuccine alfredo, and my friend got the linguine primavera, which is vegetarian. I added a "small salad" for $1 as it seemed appealing, but it was a big mistake. I described the salad to my friend as "gross" (not a word I like to write in reviews, but it so accurately describes my thoughts). It was an assortment of lettuce and some other unknown vegetables absolutely bathed in vinaigrette. Like, half the bowl was just vinaigrette soup. I did think the fettuccine alfredo was decent though, and the chicken was moist and soft. My friend said her pasta was fine. Neither of us finished our meals, even though the portion size didn't appear to be that large.

After…read morerefurbishing I heard they changed it up a bit so I suggested to the hubs that we try them out for date night - and MAN were we Supremely happy we did!! This little place is completely redone inside to look like a high class bar and dinner venue!! We stared w the Ahi Tuna Crudo - super fresh Ahi tuna beautifully presented with a surprising and refreshing arrangement of pickled celery, and sweet Italian peppers, served over a delicate avocado puree and tiny dots of citrus ponzu. The plate was Beautiful! Our next adventure; lightly charred pieces of octopus atop slightly pureed cannelloni beans. Now this is an unlikely and unusual pairing, but it WORKS!! SPLENDIDLY!! And again, the presentation is beautiful Generous portions of octopus with a char that gives it a slight smokiness and perfectly cooked to make for a tender bite and with the puree? Not since Italy have we been so amazed!! The saltiness with hints of chilis in the background, the texture of the beans, the slight chew and smoothness of the octopus; an elevated flavor combo that knocks it out the Park! As we wait for our main courses the restaurant fills with patrons and I'm gazing around, noting the Huge pizza oven. It's rustic and beautifully made; tiny tiles overlaying its upper surface making for a gorgeous and impressive visual in the midst of the bustling kitchen. I love that it is used as a WALL of sorts on its outer edge. I also love that one has a view of the kitchen via a smallish viewing glass next to the oven. Another site is the bar! Now mind you. This is TEMPLE. But this bar, and really the entire inside of this establishment is something you'd expect to see in the bigger cities like Austin or Dallas!! It's Truly a class act!! White linen clad tables, servers dressed black and white, beautiful decor. Not something you would expect in this area!! Our awesome server Austin takes excellent care of us; taking the time to stop in often to chat and share with us his wanderings, life experiences, and Menu Expertise!! We love the interaction! And then Austin brings out our MAINS!! And OH MAN GUYS.... First up is the Osso Bucco. I've had Osso Bucco in many places; I've MADE Osso Bucco. This is PERFECTION. Not too much demi which is almost ALWAYS the case, in stead of Drowning in the sauce this dish gives just enough so that you can scoop up perfect bites of light and creamy polenta. Not a trace of its gritty source this polenta is airy and buttery smooth promoting mere corn to another level altogether. The Real Star here tho is the Veal Shank. We are presented with lavish portion - the shank bone is served with a tiny bone fork alongside; given to scoop out the unctuous velvety richness that is the inner MARROW!!! And when I say wow? I mean WOWWWWWWW The flavor of the shank is a consume of beefy richness with hints of herbs As much as I LOVE LOVE LOVED the veal tho? The homemade pasta stole it for me honestly. Now, my hubs and I are blessed enough to go to Italy a couple times a year, and we have YET to taste pasta like this!! La Riv makes their own pasta in house and GUYSSSSSSSS we tried the Pappardelle with beef rib; Gorgeous braised beef chunks swimming in a delicate jus and herb ricotta to mix in. The beef is melt in your mouth tender while the Pappardelle has a slight bite telling you it is FRESH!! I LOVE the texture of this pasta. It is my favorite of the pasta cuts and I just could not get enough!!! But I had to hold myself back so I wouldn't eat ALL of hubs dish!! We absolutely Love this little Gem on W Adams in Temple. I did not care for the spice on the broccolini - I was not expecting it. The broccolini has a beautiful smoky charred flavor with pine nuts and they put some sort of spicy chili oil on it that I found distracting. Great wine list and cocktails but I wish they could expand their wine by the glass menu. Hopefully they offer a rotating seasonal menu because it seems they keep the menu pretty tight, which is ok with me as long as they change it up a couple times a year.
