Wow what a great first experience at the McAllisters in Temple. The friendliness of the staff was extremely welcoming. Throughout our meal, multiple staff members came by to check on our needs. They were polite, smiling and just really nice. We observed the manager also walking around checking on the customers. The place was packed but they got our food out quickly and it was really good. Ordered a potato today and boy did they short change me. Hardly any meat or cheese was on it and the potato was very dry. I actually had to add my own ingredients when I arrived home to give it some substance. I asked for sour cream but there wasn't any. Piss poor potato. My advice...do better! read more

Delicious salads! We ordered the pick 2 so it was a small but I wish I ordered a regular size. It was so refreshing on a hit summer day! It was fresh and the combination of ingredients are perfect. I had the Savannah chopped salad with chicken, gorgonzola, and cranberries with a vinaigrette dressing. Yum!! I also had the Chicken bacon ranch potato. It was good but the salad stole the show! My mom loved her pecanberry salad and baked potato too. We placed the order via the app but ate inside. The order was ready on time and prepared correctly with some customizations. Service was good until i asked for my drink to be remade this nice guy grabbed to new cups and was about to remake too new drinks for me without ice and this short curly white girl comes out from the back and said " no watch js do this" as she proceeds to half way the lib and pour it into a new cup and he said " well i didn't wanna be getto" and she said " well it's not getto" YES it is 100% GETTO i asked for the drinks to be remade not transferred to a different cup. read more

This place is great! The food is delicious! My favorite sandwich is the McAlister Club. Service is excellent. The ambiance is great.

I at least got food here twice. First time just to get a half sandwich and soup. I think it was a Garden Turkey but it was a hot sandwich. I ordered the same again but I specifically asked for it to be cold because in Texas it's pretty hot. It's nice to eat something refreshing. I also got the chicken tortilla soup. All is delicious. One of the worst locations we've visited in a while , although the customer service was decent and number of additional items we added to our order were forgotten. We also had a pretty small portion of the "choose 2" nachos. I understand the choose 2 are significantly smaller than normal portions but the portion that was given was more like a 1/4 rather than 1/2. By far my favorite sandwich place since moving from NY. Their sandwiches are fresh and delicious. The French dip is my favorite. The spuds are cooked perfectly and I cannot stress enough, GRAB THE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE WHILE THEY HAVE IT. 11 out of 10. Even got this to go and was still perfect temp. I went Saturday night and this girl with blonde and black hair was standing at the register along with 2 other women, they seemed to be in a mood or something. When me and my husband approached the register to order said girl with two toned hair said very rude like "what are you gonna order" when ordering she said nothing and gave me only the expression of annoyance. She made my whole experience feel like we were nothing but a bother. Halfway through telling her my order I turned and asked my husband if he wanted to just go elsewhere. Being rather persistent on eating here we decided to stay, I mean this girl really made me uncomfortable. I asked for a manager nearing the end of our visit and explained to him what happened, Jessie was a very nice guy who listened and apologized for what happened, he even offered to give us a free desert at the time. We kept declining until he gave us a recipet for our means to be replaced the next time we come in. Anyway we went back and she just did the same thing. 0/10 never going back, what a shame we will miss it. read more

This location sure exceeded my expectations yesterday for lunch. The restaurant was immaculate, and the service was fantastic. Several workers came into the dining room to see how customers were doing. I think 4 of them came to my table throughout my meal and one picked up my plate soon after I was finished. I've been to a number of these restaurants. This one beats all of them. I was probably in and out in less than 20 minutes. read more

Reuben Reuben tasted phenomenal. They went a little easy on the sauerkraut and the thousand island dressing tho, but besides that the Reuben was loaded and delicious. Got a side of Mac n cheese which was extremely subpar. Taste was not there nor was the amount of noodles. Had maybe a total of 10 noodles in the entire serving. We also had to wait a significant amount of time to receive our food along with several other patrons there at the moment (20 min for a takeout order). We ordered over $50 ,2 of them being the Southern Chicken Salad, however, about the time we decided to look at the salads because we were gonna eat 1/2 of our other food then half of our salads, the salad itself tasted great, but as we started in on our salads, SURPRISE NO CHICKEN So called up there to let them know, the girl says to me, I guess you wouldn't want to "BRING THEM UP THERE, TO SHOW THEM THERE WAS NO CHICKEN!!!! Such a great location!! Ordering was fast and easy as always. All the tables were clean, as someone was always coming by taking dirty dishes and trash from your area. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. All the staff was nice and attentive. My husband and I came here so hungry! We ordered so much food, and two girls came to bring it out to us. Everything with our order was great, and the food was all very fresh. Plenty of parking, clean, and tables labeled for proper social distancing. I like this place, it has great sandwiches and plenty of sides. My favorite sandwich is the Orange Cranberry Club - it's really good, and the bread is always fresh and good quality. People go crazy for the sweet tea here, I'm not a sweet tea guy but I went half-and-half w/ regular tea and it tasted just fine. They brew their tea here which is why it's so good. This place could be a 5 star place if they stepped it up a notch in some areas - such as their side offerings. I didn't care for the packaged up fruit cup (that was quite acidic), or the packaged up apple sauce either. If they had their own homemade chips or fruit (for example) that was made fresh then that would really put this place over the top, instead you'll get packaged sides (Lays, Sun Chips, Mott's, Fruit cups) which I guess is no different than Subway. I have yet to expand from the Orange Cranberry Club, they do have plenty of other sandwiches / soups and salads you can choose from, all of which are great quality. read more

Food was very good. New place ( old chick Fil a as I know) is a huge downgrade from the old location that was very roomy and lots of seating. There is the advantage of the drive thru but........... Also there is a large wall decor sticker to left of registers highlighting the place and temple. Here the catch. My job used to order McAlister's Deli during monthly classroom training sessions, so I've had a taste or two of their food in the past. It's been a while, so I decided to drop in for their "Choose 2" combo. (Half Shareable, cup of soup, half sandwich, half salad, half spud). It was a hard choice with all the interesting choices on the menu. I finally decided on the Savannah Chopped Salad and the French Dip sandwich. So the Salad was really good and the Sandwich was your typical hit. No complains as everything was fresh and tasty. Although McAlister's is very much like Schlotskys, I'll give the slight overall nod to Schlotskys with McAlister's a close second. I'll definitely be back! read more
