A MA ZING is all I can say.....I've lived in the Northeast and this is the closest thing you're gonna get to NY style pizza in while TX. The Calzone, Stomboli and just the slice of pepperoni pizza is just incredible. I don't know if it's the sauce or the cheese, but dear LORD is this stuff to die for.....even the crust is good. Ordered take-out for pick up @ 12:30pm on Sunday. Picked it up @ 12:20pm. One word: disappointed!!! I read the reviews and gave it a try. Mistake! Ordered turkey and provolone sub. Turkey was dry and extremely salty. Didn't finish the sandwich, fed it to the garbage disposal. Ordered kid's meal of lasagna. The lasagna was mostly water, like it had been frozen and re-heated. Horrible taste. This was fed to the garbage disposal because child refused to eat it. I thought the garlic knot that came with kid's meal would be better. It was very doughy and moist. This was fed to the garbage disposal. This experience was disappointing and a waste of money. I ended up cooking something to eat. Fantastic. Came in thru town from Waco, after we read the reviews we decided to give it a go. This is what we ordered - side salads / individual pizza slices / kids spaghetti and Stromboli with sauce in the side. Their sauce is amaze-balls. Really good ! Affordable. Fast. Great service. I just love this place. Had their pizza at a birthday party a few years back and never even realized this little place was located where it was. Our family has been ordering/dining here ever since. We can feed our large family and not break the bank.. AND we are always so stuffed. Spinach mozzarella rolls are a must try if you like spinach. AND their garlic knots.. salads are great also! it's hard to NOT get carried away when ordering here- everything is SO GOOD! Food prices were inexpensive. The food was decent. I had eggplant parmesan and it was okay. My son had pizza it was pretty good. My daughter had fettuccini alfredo that was more sauce than anything but she didn't seem to mind. Garlic knots were good. We must have went on a bad day. We went because of all the great reviews. Service was very slow and not friendly. Got our order wrong. But the main issue was the food wasn't good. Good news: Italianos is much better than any chain pizza restaurant in town. They make huge, delicious 20" pizzas. Bad news: Italianos knows they're good and their prices have begun to reflect that. Adding toppings can get expensive here. If you do go to italianos and want a pizza with some character, I recommend the chicken Alfredo pizza. read more

My husband and I tried this place on a lark. It certainly isn't anything to look at on the outside, but the food is DELICIOUS! We routinely get the supreme pizza... it is our default. We also LOVE their pepperoni roll and spinach roll, as a nice appetizer. I personally like them even better than the pizza! The stuffed pizza is enormous. It fed my husband and I for 3 meals.... and at $20 that's a bargain! This is our go-to place from now on... no more Pizza Hut or Papa John's at our house! Italiano's has got it going on. This place may seem slightly sketch, tucked away in an old shopping strip next to a gas station, but it's better than any chain out there. The pizza is always hot but still great cold the morning after. They use 100% real cheese, and the slices are BIG. It's hard to find a slice here in TX that actually tastes (and doesn't just resemble) NY style pizza but Italiano's could hang out with Yankees. The Garlic Knots and Pepperoni rolls are great as well. Kevin McCalister is my boy so in honor of him my go-to is a slice of classic cheese. Prices are reasonable, you can carry out an XL Pizza for only $10.99. The service is typically pretty nice, they've even given us free drinks before. Just don't arrive too close to closing and order something big, they'll do it but they'll be a noticeably ticked. read more

This review above mine is crazy. First it says the same thing on many different restaurants and Italiano's doesn't even serve hamburgers nor is it a hole in the wall. I am Italian and raised with all the Italian recipe s my grandmother brought with her from Italy. And of all the Italian restaurants in my city of Temple/Belton Tx Italiano's's is by far the best. I HATE giving this restaurant 1 star! This is such a sad sight when I have to give my favorite Italian restaurant in Temple a single star. It all happened last week when my in-laws came to visit and I suggested we go to Italiano's. My father-in-law and I both ordered the Stromboli while my wife ordered Cannelloni and my mother-in-law ordered a slice of pizza. I don't know what happened to the Stromboli but my father-in-law and I both had food poisoning that night. The women were both fine. All I know is that I will never eat a Stromboli there again. I have to say of all the places we can go, we chose Italiano's. Every thing that we have tried has been great and is always hot just out of the oven. We were there Friday night 10 minutes before closing and they took our order with a smile and the waitress was nice and pleasant with us. Not one time did they say we are about to close. Calzone wasn't anything close to Italian, was drenched in sauce when usually sauce is on the side. I had sausage and peppers for a filling, and the sausage was processed, the peppers weren't cooked. It was very small, and didn't end up being enough for me. I'll have to try the pizza, but overall I won't ever get the calzone. read more

This place is always great! What gets me coming back is the super low prices! You can get an 18" pizza with one topping (to-go) for under $12 and most entrees are about $7 and they never fail to fill me up. Personally, I can never get enough of the baked ziti and my husband loves their strombolis. The dining room isn't very large but remember that you can get your food to go. Don't forget to try a cannoli for dessert! Like most restaurants in Temple, they are not open very late so no late-night snacks from here. read more

Fantastic!!!! By far and away, the BEST pizza place on Temple. I read excellent reviews about Italiano's, and I had high expectations. I ordered cheese sticks, garlic knots, and an extra large pepperoni pizza for my daughter and myself. My wife ordered a house salad and a margarita pizza. First, I love the restaurant. As Tessio said, in the Godfather, "It's perfect for us. A small family place...where people can talk in private. Good food. Everyone minds their business. Perfect." Second, the service was top notch. I called the order over the phone. The person took my order and then read it back to me to make sure he had it right. No one does this anymore, and that's why orders get screwed up. It's the little things that matter. Third, the food. AMAZING!!!!!! I mean, WOW!!! Everything was perfect. The pizza was large, cheesy, and floppy. Just the way I like it. The cheese sticks were the perfect size. Not too big, not too small, and cooked to perfection. Everything was perfect. Italiano's has earned my business for as long as I live in Temple. The pizza was good, but the service was TERRIBLE. I begin the transaction with stating I was interested in the 11.99 special. I place my order and realize the number was extremely incorrect. I was charged 16.99 and the cashier failed to inform me. So we void that transaction and the employee Megan had an awful attitude about it. We finally get it correct and wait patiently for the pizza to be finished. I have my teenage brother with me, and the entire wait the two female employees stand behind the counter and proceed to gossip about very inappropriate things involving men and showing pictures of said men to each other. I have lived in Temple since 2009. I've been making the same request for the entire time- to remove the sausage because my husband is allergic to MSG. This time the sausage was not removed and we were told it was ground beef. I was up all night with medical issues. The next day I called to let them know- I di not get an apology, I did not get a coupon, I did not get a request to come in and talk with the manager. I got "We cannot guarantee that your pizza won't have contaminants and it would be better if you don't us Italiano's in the future. I'm always a fan of supporting local establishments, and this is one of my favorite. The service is friendly, the food good, and prices very reasonable. My usual pick is a house salad with house dressing (tomato vinaigrette, very tangy) with 2 spinach rolls. My boyfriend loves their stromboli. The pizza is HUGE, and quite tasty.
