This place is no longer open. It's a cake shop. Poor owner said she's been there a year.

Strange location (medical plaza) but amazing food! Everything is vegan and agave is used instead of…read moresugar in smoothies. Enter, order on the kiosk, take a seat till your order appears. There's beautiful art on the walls. I had the mushroom caprese melt and my friend had the garden kraut mushroom Reuben. Both were served warm on perfectly crunchy house made spelt sourdough. I had the delightful potato salad, and my friend had the ginger Napa slaw. Portion sizes were appropriate for a filling lunch. Prices not bad considering the healthiness of the food and that a side is included (around $15 for a sandwich and side). Staff was helpful with the questions we had, accessible even though there was a kiosk to take our order. Check this spot out!

ALSO location is changing soon** Now, with that out-of-the-way, my review: this is a beautiful all vegan eatery, with lush interior colors and vibrant HEALTHY PLANT-BASED menu choices. The pictures included with my review are current as of the posted date. SMOOTHIES/ SANDWICHES/ DESSERTS/ FRESH JUICE & TEAS/ KID MENU/ HUMMUS/ PASTA SALAD/ FERMENTED PRODUCE are all available on the digital menu (see pics) My daughters and I are on a multi-day road trip, we stopped in for brunch. We enjoyed pasta salad from the pantry (i.e. grab and go fridge) and staff made avocado toast for my girls which is not currently on the menu, but was offered when they noted surprise over the outdated menu expectations. The pasta salad is phenomenally flavorful. It hit my taste buds like an electric current!! Homemade bread and mashed avocado never disappoints but theirs is next level. Staff is so sweet, kind and understanding. I hope this place thrives in its new location because it absolutely deserves to. My only advice to Hungry Caterpillar is "Live Long And PROSPER!!" Yes: 100% VEGAN YES: family friendly

This self service place comes in clutch for the morning coffee while I was visiting…read more I didn't try any of the food but the menu is pretty big and there's a lot of good looking food coming off of the line. It was pretty slammed when I was there so the employees were in the weeds for sure. But I was happy with my espresso. The location is right in the 5 points area so the walk factor is legit. The seating outside is probably my favorite part. Who doesn't like sitting on picnic tables in the end right.

Organic products throughout the menu, as well as some gluten free options ... which was exactly what we were looking for! When we arrived, we found this pleasant environment with ample seating outside. As we began to review the menu, the manager of the shop was very friendly and helpful in navigating their menu. Ultimately, I decided to sample the bacon, egg, and cheese wrap. It was quite good. I believe they used a cheddar that was a bit strong for my taste and would have preferred some milder cheese options (like provolone). Regardless, it was tasty. My only complaint (and this may be specific to me) is that they did not have a cola flavored diet drink to offer. Yes, I admit, I need my Diet Coke with my meal. So, I had to walk around the corner and find a place to sell me a soda. Other than that, a great option for a meal.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my bestie trying out their Arepas! It was a little after lunch rush but…read morestill had a good number of customers in the restaurant. The server was really friendly and recommended some great options for us. We ordered the following: 1) THE QUEEN - classic Venezuelan "chicken salad" with their home-made avocado mayo, cilantro and sliced avocados (also known as the Reina Pepiada). Fresh with a great balance of umami flavors! The cilantro green sauce was an amazing add-on with a little spicy kick! 2) PORKO LOCO - slow cooked pork marinated in red wine with queso blanco. Tender, moist, and very flavorful. Amazing! 3) CACHAPA - soft crispy pancake made with sweet corn and fried cheese in the middle. Flavor bomb of sweet and savory! 4) EMPANADA (BEEF) - tender, shredded beef with great flavor of savory. The dipping sauce was white, tangy, vinegary, creamy with a slight spiciness. Delicious! 5) SOURSOP JUICE - rare to find restaurants with this drink. Ate the actual fruits in my homeland in SE Asia. The juice was milky/creamy, sweet with an earthy taste. Great health benefits eating or drinking soursop -- antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, etc. Other notable item was the Passion Fruit Juice however, I did not try it. My bestie really liked it. Overall, wonderful experience at the restaurant of the food, service and great interior feeling creating a great ambiance. Definitely will visit again and try out more menu items.

Was visiting a friend in JAX and we decided to go to the symphony. We needed a place to eat!…read moreBeforehand. We looked up a few places that had food both of us would like. I like more of American fusion and my friend likes vegan. We made a reservation considering the symphony was playing. When we arrived there were a few open tables so who knows if it mattered. Next was hostess getting us to the table. Sometimes I wonder if they like their jobs. I don't think it is too hard to walk someone to a table, help them sit down, smile a bit then do it again. You could be flipping burgers. But seriously just smile and fake it. Our server was nice yet he looked like he had been gaming all week and forgot to take a shower. I say this as a mom. If I'm going to fine dining, I'd like the staff to brush their hair. Boomers and Gen X appreciate well kept staff. I mean, you had to touch your greasy hair to get it out of your eyes then touch our plates. Plus we barely saw you. No refills. Now to the food. I forgot to take pics. My friend had a salad and I had the $20 chicken sandwich. We are foodies and prob could have cooked up same at home. When I eat out and dine at high rated places, I do have some expectations. It was subpar. And finally we had decaf and espresso after the meal. We know coffee. We've traveled the world. Her espresso was just off. I tried it and choked. And last the bathrooms. They were clean! However there was a line. Only one ladies, one men, one both. And it's in this weird narrow space. Prob not going back. Always love me a new adventure.

We recently had dinner at Bellwether. They're on the northwest corner of Laura & Forsyth, downtown…read more This was our second time there but the second time for both of us eating there as we dipped in previously for me to eat when my wife had eaten elsewhere beforehand. We started with the Korean Fried Broccoli and we both had mixed feelings about it. We liked the overall taste but we both expected the breading to be far more crispy than it was. Having never tried it before, that could very well be how it's meant to be but when we see "Korean Fried", we are thinking crispy. Again, it wasn't bad, just not what we expected. I ordered the Steak Frites for my entree, which I ordered medium rare. Let me start by saying that the cook on the steak was perfect and I REALLY liked the fries and the seasoning on them. However, I was really surprised by how tough the the steak was. I mean, really tough. I liked parts of it but found it hard to enjoy most of it. My wife ordered the Sheep Style Smash Burger. She thought it was a good smash burger and the "sheep sauce" was a nice take on 1000 Island. She liked the potato bun and she really liked her fries as well. So it seems her entree was more of a success than mine. It's worth noting that our server Maya was fantastic. She added a lot to our enjoyment of the evening. Our server the first time was awesome too and I liked my entee (short rib) a LOT more. So we'll stop in again to try some other things eventually.
