Then we started trying new ones opened in the area and now often go to one at the mall for good ramen and conscience. I was craving for Okinawa soba so decided to come here without driving to South Bay. It's Friday around 1:30pm and the shop is relatively busy that only a couple of tables are available. We sat down and started looking at the menu - now a digital one with a tablet on every table. You can browse the menu on the tablet and put your order in on it. We ordered Okinawa soba and miso ramen. For $15 each, it seems like a decent price. We like the broths here. It's rich and deep without a layer of fat on top like most of the ramen shops. The noodles are firm with a nice bite to it. I especially like the Okinawa soba because it uses thicker noodles. The meat is tender and has a sweet flavor to it. If I had to nitpick, they don't have the Okinawa chili vinegar to go with the soba. It's a small shop. The walls are sprayed painted to look like a Japanese night time izakaya vibe. We will definitely come back more often.

Unfortunately, today made us realize the drive is no longer worth it. As we walked in, the owner (I assume) was so focused on his phone that he didn't greet us or acknowledge us at all. We had to approach him and ask where to sit because he didn't even look up. It felt unwelcoming and very different from how this place used to be. On top of that, the food just wasn't the same the flavor was lacking, and the overall experience didn't feel like the restaurant we've supported for years. It's disappointing to say, but this place has lost our business. Great customer service and consistent quality matter, and sadly both were missing today.

For him he thinks that was a good enough portion because it tasted a bit too creamy for him. For me it wasn't enough! It was soooo deliciousssss. Dry noodles here for the win! Worth the $18! It was my…read morefirst time ordering takeout from here but I dined in before and enjoyed their ramen noodles. I placed my order through their website and ordered the original Nagoya Mazesoba non-spicy with poached egg (15.29). I selected the earliest pick up time and then headed to the restaurant a few minutes before. However, to my surprise, the staff told me that my order wasn't ready yet and would need another 10 to 15 minutes. This is already after the 15 minutes of the promised due time when I placed my order, so I had no choice but to wait outside the store. This made my experience annoying because now I waited a total 25 minutes for my food. They should not have put an asap ordering with a due time if their kitchen wouldn't be able to meet the time. It seemed to me that their kitchen forgot to cook my order until I arrived at the store and they noticed the order, because my order was ready 10 minutes after I arrived and waited outside. The only good thing is the staff was nice enough to bring out my food instead of letting me go inside to get it after the time they told me passed. This is why I had to drop a star in my review. As for the noodles, it is similar to my memory of how it tasted. The sauce is very flavorful and a bit greasy as you get to the last couple bites. But the portion is still a bit small and also the noodle texture seemed not as chewy and soft. It might be because it is takeout or the kitchen was in a rush to cook it. But overall it was just alright and not as good as I remembered. If I do come again, I will dine in to see if the noodles taste any better. Because of this, I definitely would just recommend dining in. Dining in also gets the free bowl of rice.

I am regretful though. Otherwise, their main ramen tasted very good. The chasu meat was very good and the Ramen came out hot. The oyster that was off the menu was amazing. Place is really cute and very Japanese. Honestly, I won't be coming back. I can't help, but feel like I was fed leftover skewers. The host was so nice, but unfortunately something was wrong with the cook. I should have not eaten the platter and hope I don't get sick. Update: I am pretty sure this gave me stomach issues, but instead of the skewers, maybe the oyster.

All of these items were beyond amazing. The ramen had to be the best ramen I have ever had. The broth was rich and flavorful , noodles were cooked perfectly , chashu was perfectly tender , soft boiled egg was jammy and runny. The gyozas were great. I love how they pan fried it and made it extra crispy while still being soft and flavorful on the inside. The karaage was so juicy and good; squeezing lemon to it definitely adds a nice brightness to it. Service was so good! Everyone was so nice and explained the menu clearly. We were seated pretty fast at the bar. Food came out fast as well. Ambiance is great! A clean restaurant that is nicely decorated to make you feel like you're not even in the Santa Anita Mall. Overall, would LOVE to come back again.

I ordered the Red King again with the tonkotsu pork broth, light on salt and oil, regular thin noodles, and pork belly. The broth was still rich and flavorful without feeling too heavy, especially with the lighter customization. The noodles had a great texture and the pork belly was tender and satisfying. We also got the chicken karaage as an appetizer, and it was crispy, juicy, and a great starter before the ramen came out. Service was excellent from start to finish. Our food came out just minutes after ordering, which was impressive considering how busy the place gets. Our waitress also checked on us throughout the meal and made sure everything was good without being overbearing. The ambiance is really nice and clean. It gives off the feeling of being in an authentic ramen house with a lively but comfortable atmosphere. Even when busy, it still felt organized and welcoming. The biggest downside is definitely parking. Since it's located in the mall, finding parking can be a mess and probably the most challenging part of coming here. Overall, this spot continues to impress me and I'll definitely keep recommending it to friends and family.

For appetizers we ordered the Takoyaki, chicken karage and our main dishes Deluxe Tsukemen x3. The Break down: Atmosphere: 4/5 They greet you as you walk in, which I sets the vibe. You're welcomed into a cozy apace that has some decorative elements even to the music choice. Reminds me of our trip to japan, which I MISS SO MUCH! The Food Takoyaki: $8.95. 4/5 Stars. - Comes in 5pcs with sauce and bonito flakes. I liked how the outside was a bit crunchy and inside was fluffy! Karage: $8.95. 5/5 Stars - Comes in 5pcs. The sauce was tangy sweet kind of like teriyaki sauce. It was crispy but still so juicy and soft. HANDS DOWN GET THIS! Loved it so much I could have a whole bowl Tsukemen: $22.45. 5/5Stars - If you aren't familiar with this, the broth is separate from the noodles. Its a different way of experiencing noodles. The broth is thick, creamy and flavor profile is on point. Inside of the broth there is mushrooms and pcs of pork. The noodles are cooked perfectly and also comes with pcs of nori, soft boiled jammy eggs and 4 pcs of thick chashu. Portion size lets just say they are generous and we all can EAT ^^, Kakigori (MATCHA) $8/$14. 5/5 Stars - Definite MUST! Its made with Japanese shaved ice, a very creamy soft cream matcha sauce and matcha powder! I cant tell you how good this dessert is. The wife is obsessed and one if the main reasons why we found this spot in the first place. Please try! Service: - Super friendly staff! They are quick to get our order and serve our meal. I asked for more limes for my noodles 2x and both times they were quick. Made us feel very welcomed and checked in on us on a regular, which also reminded us of the service Japan showed us once upon a time. Overall: We love this place and we keep coming back with new people to share this type of noodle experience. Check them out im sure you will enjoy it. Lets just say we drove an hour to eat this. You def will not be disappointed :)

The…read moreother two ordered tsukemen ($26.50 for the spicy deluxe and $23.50 for the spicy chasu) and found it very salty because they chose to consume it not by dipping the noodles in the bowl of broth, but rather by pouring all the broth from the bowl into the noodles, trying to recreate a normal bowl of ramen. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.
