But as for the food itself, the standouts would be the fried shrimp and the lobster. The shrimp is perfectly fried and I enjoy how soft the shell is. I like the lobster alot too. Each time I've gone or taken food to go, I feel massively dehydrated after that I get a headache if I don't drink enough water. I had the Lunch Set C menu, which came with a full table's worth of food for about 5 people for $158. The service was top tier, and the waiters were attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a high end Chinese restaurant. The ambiance is dark, but each table had its own bright lighting, so it didn't feel too dark. Now for the food, here are my thoughts. Snowflake Beef with Garlic - Came in an interesting box grill, and it was perfectly cooked. Medium-rare with a slightly crispy outside and a tender, soft inside. Very flavorful. (5/5) Array 35 Signature Roast Duck - Best duck I've had. Crispy skin, and the meat was so flavorful. It came with wraps, veggies, and hoisin sauce. This is a must get. (5/5) Cold Mixed Cucumber, Century Egg, Eggplant - This is an interesting dish, but I love century egg, and this was actually amazing. No weird taste at all. (5/5) Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce - Tender meat in a nice, spicy sauce. It's delicious. (5/5) Braised Black Cod with Potato Starch Sheets - Perfectly cooked cod, and I really enjoyed the potato noodles. So good and flavorful. (5/5) Seasonal Steamed Dimsum - This was a veggie bao, and it was so good, especially for being vegetarian. (4.5/5) Homemade Shrimp Paste with Hotpot - A simple dish, but the flavors were good. It came in a steaming pot that kept everything warm. Delicious. (4.5/5) Stir Fried Seasonal Veggies - These were stir fried string beans, and they were good. Perfectly cooked and seasoned well. (4.5/5) Snow Fungus Pear Soup - A nice dessert that comes with the set. It came with 5 bowls and was super refreshing and tasty. (5/5) Normally, I have something to say about the food, but everything here was absolutely delicious. Yes, it's a pricey experience, but the ambiance, food, and service make it worth it for special occasions. Parking - They share a lot, which was pretty plentiful when I visited.

Pan fried dumpling (sheng jian bao) - Surprisingly good! tasty, juicy inside with lots of broth. Popcorn chicken - decent as well, generous portions with good meaty chunks Wonton in red chilli oil - It was decent but I wish it had a little bit of vinegar to add some tang. Soup dumpling/ Xiao long bao - This was okay, skin was a little thick but generous fillings with lots of soup House noodle soup - Broth was very tasty and it was a comforting soup dish, but nothing to rave about. Devil spicy beef noodle - Was expecting this to be super spicy, but honestly the spice level is just medium and it was more mala (numbing spice) than just regular spice. Overall meal portions are reasonably generous. Will return again.

The Peking duck is still a stand out. Depending on the amount of people we love adding the signature crispy grouper with the sweet and chill or the short ribs. I love the Chengdu Style Green Bean Jelly. It's spicy numbing with a bit of tartness. They recently revamped their menu adding a lot of new things and their drinks list has grown substantially. Their grilled on the bone beef rib is excellent and new jellyfish appetizer has a wonderful crunch. We haven't tried every menu item because we always get at least one duck which takes up space but we are always aiming to try one new thing each time.

Given that this place is definitely on the higher end in terms of price, I was expecting the dishes to be a little more unique and exquisite. Peking Duck - 6/10 Pretty standard. The duck skin was crispy and fatty, which was good, but the actual meat was a little dry. The wrapper was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. Crispy Walnut Shrimp - 8/10 By far the best dish of the meal. The shrimp was lightly battered but incredibly crispy, and the walnuts were excellent and complemented the shrimp really well. The sweet melon was questionable, though. I couldn't quite understand the appeal of adding fruit to this dish. Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao - 7/10 The filling was definitely up there in terms of flavor and quality, but the wrapper was far too thick for my liking. A thinner wrapper would have made a big difference. Seared Honey Glazed Cod - 5/10 Unfortunately, this was my least favorite. The fish was very fishy, the sear wasn't particularly impressive, and the sauce didn't pair well with the cod. There were also chestnuts and what I believe were shallots, neither of which I really cared for. Overall, it's a beautiful establishment with great service and very impressive presentation. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite match the appearance or the price point for me. The Crispy Walnut Shrimp was the standout, but the other dishes were more average than I expected.

They have an extensive menu, including a special lunch and dinner menu with dishes for $11.99 each. Our group got the party menu for 8-10 people for $328, which included 10 of their dishes. I enjoyed the variety and the display, but it may not be worth it if you don't enjoy all dishes. Some dishes include chicken gristle, steamed tilapia, hunan chili pork, frog meat. If these aren't your jam, it's probably better to select the dishes individually, especially if you can't handle spicy! Hunan dishes contain lots of chili and is often pretty oily. Overall, I would return and select just the dishes I enjoy, and perhaps try their alcoholic drinks to pair with the spicy dishes!

The food came out steaming hot, and the portions were incredibly generous. All the dishes were really flavourful and well cooked, reminded me of food I grew up eating in Hong Kong. My boyfriend who normally hates eggplant actually ate and enjoyed the eggplant casserole! If you are looking for some hearty, delicious, great value Cantonese food, this is the spot for you. There are a few Canto cafés around here, but this one is definitely one of our favorites. Dim sum is pretty easy to find, but authentic Cantonese cafés are much more of a rare find. The lower reviews are probably due to the service, but in my opinion, a truly authentic Cantonese restaurant should have questionable service because that's exactly what you get at the good places in Hong Kong. The philosophy in Hong Kong is basically "food over service." If they're being too nice, they're probably overcompensating for something haha. Getting either the hot or iced milk tea or lemon tea is a MUST. It's the traditional way to do it, and they even offer unlimited refills! Just be warned that you might not sleep that night because Hong Kong-style tea is no joke when it comes to caffeine. Pro tip: If you get the lemon tea, you have to crush the lemons into the tea to get the right flavor! My friends and I are regulars here. They're open late, and the ambiance is so fun, with tables decorated with mahjong tiles and neon lights that basically scream Asia. The food is top tier and, in my opinion, some of the best Cantonese food you'll find in the U.S. Our go-to orders are the tomato baked rice dishes, stir-fried vegetables, 3-cup dishes, and brisket curries. For something sweet, we always share the classic Cantonese French toast with peanut butter inside or one of the pineapple buns. Definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for an authentic Canto café experience! :)

Their signature dish - their "house special lobster"- is the most flavorful preparation of lobster that one can have. The lobster is fried and the juicy bites of meat is layered with garlic, green onions, and sweetness. If you're lucky, you might get some roe, which gives extra salinity. An order of lobster presently costs $34/lb and a "small lobster" will weigh 3-4 lbs; therefore, I only order this signature dish for special occasions. Even if you don't want lobster, don't fret as the rest of the menu is equally delicious. Their "yang chow fried rice", crab and fish maw soup, beef loc lac, and clams with basil sauce are all personal favorites. I love their lunch specials as their entrees come with rice, but at a slightly lower price. The food is top notch, and it brings amazing Vietnamese and Cantonese flavors to this location in the San Gabriel Valley. For a special occasion with my wife or with a group, this is always a winning pick.

The lobster was cut and fried in a way that made the meat tucked inside the shell really easy to get to, which made the whole experience so enjoyable. And that gravy... I was literally sucking on the lobster shell trying to get every last bit. So, so good. We also had a stir-fried green vegetable--possibly watercress--and it was delicious. Simple, savory, and cooked just right. I loved having something fresh and green alongside all the richer dishes. Great food, warm service, and such a fun meal to share with a group.
