    Beef soup noodles
    Benson K.

My wife was craving beef soup noodles, while I was craving some type of rice dish. I looked at various restaurants in this area, and saw an interesting and small restaurant in Alhambra. So I decided to come give Hero's Kitchen a try. The restaurant is very small, and the menu has some interesting translations. However the staff were super nice and explained all the questions about the menu. My wife, as expected, got the beef noodle soup. I got the braised pork rice that came with 3 poached eggs. The food took a while, but it was worth the wait. The braised pork rice was a bit on the salty side, but I loved the runny eggs and broke them into the rice. The restaurant allows one refill of rice, but the dish already had so much rice that I felt no reason to ask for refills. My wife did get a refill of broth though. Overall a solid restaurant, if a bit small, but the food was tasty.

Fast food style, mostly I see to go customers (or p/u for 鸥鸟里呢orders delivery) 1). Stinky tofu: 0-star Terrible tofu as out of can! Tough skin Chewy no flavor! 2) Chicken rice-1star. Poor cooking skill. Rice and chicken gets no connection in flavors. Super Bad! It's not gonna be survived

Foods was delicious. I recommend for others to try. I will be returning to try more of their dishes.

I can't believe that I paid $14.99+tax for a full bowl of rice. 99 Ranch having better taste than here. My son who is a rice lover spat the rice right out. Sad.... Never coming back again.

Long Jiang Pork Knuckle over rice

Been craving for some comfort food and stumbled across this small place on Valley. The pork knuckle rice really hit the spot. It's pretty big portion and very flavorful. The sour pickled bean and fatty pork blended well into a good balance. It has a nice outdoor dining area. Not sure if it's dog friendly. My dogs gave a paw up for the pork knuckle. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

    mashed potato rice

old school restaurant serving old school northern chinese street food. their mashed potato rice is so good. it's gooy, hearty and warm. perfect for winter night. the ambiance reminiscent of the old northern china street stalls. definitely will be back.

Very good taste and food quality. Enjoy having lunch here. Rice dishes are all tasty. The waitress has a good attitude.

Best noodle soup ever. Beef was tender. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Great service. Small place but well worth it.

I guess many things have changed though, the restaurant definitely got a lot busier than I remember, probably has to due with TikTok influencers blowing up this spot. I'm happy for them. The wait on a weekend evening was around 40 minutes for a table for 2 and we arrived around 6. Food XLB - these weren't anything special, I do like the scallion and ginger flavors in the filling Popcorn Chicken - must get, reminds me of the one I had in Taipei Pan Fried Pork Buns - they do pork buns really well here. Crispy bottom, juicy filling, very delicious Beef & Tendon Noodle Soup - soy based, herb/spice heavy. Noodles Al dente, very good beef noodle Duck Female Ginger Rice Noodle - this one was good when it first arrived at the table, but after 3-4 minutes the noodle just sucked up all the soup and it no longer became enjoyable. Service was typical and very efficient. The location interior is not that big but they definitely made the most use out of the space.

Ordered the potstickers, the spicy wontons, the beef noodle soup, and then jiajiang noodles. In order of preference, it is the spicy wontons, the jiajiang noodles, the potstickers, and then the beef noodle soup. What they got right with the spicy wontons was the sauce - spiced, kinda spicy, sour, and also sweet. I could use that sauce on everything. The jiajiang noodles was just a good combo of cool from the cucumbers and the noodles and minced meat were good. The beef noodle soup was fine but I think the soup could've packed a bigger punch. It felt almost watered down but I say the piece of beef were great. Overall, the meal came out to around $65 and it is pretty standard now but $13 for 8 wontons or 8 potstickers just feels a bit nuts still. Overall though, it was a solid meal and I'd recommend coming

We were able to find parking in the back and it was full so there's more parking underground. This place was pretty full, but given the capacity, the place had more ceiling space than seating place. We met family and friends while they already were in the middle of dinner and we came pretty late. Mama Lu's is known for their dumplings but they also serve Chinese dishes such as beef chow fun, roasted duck, fried fish fillet, and more. Staff were friendly, they were helpful and a wasn't hard to flag them down if we needed something. Overall, good place, would come again to try dumplings.

The fried fish was very good, crunchy a little bland but the seasons on the side worked out. The beef noodle is just classic, I feel like I eat this all the time at Chinese restaurants. The service was good, My grandma's friend apparently scoped out the place before hand and put her card down for the table. Sneaky sneaky, she put down one of the trickiest plays. The place has a very high ceiling, Spacious doesn't seem like it had a lot of tables, but it wasn't packed.

We come here for the low price wonton noodles, steamed spareribs on steamed rice, and the beef rice…read morenoodle rolls. We also order their HK style lemon iced tea. It's pretty good here and they have complimentary refills! They're known for their rice noodle rolls here and you can order them, along with their small dim sum menu, all day long. The wonton noodles here were just $13.98! They come with 5 large wontons and vegetables over wonton noodles. I always recommend adding chili oil. The steamed spareribs on steamed rice have some bones, just like the ones you find at dim sum. But there's a lot of meat in the steamed rice bowl for a single person. Free parking in rear parking lot. Entrance at the front on Garvey Ave. They have 2 entrances in front now. Left door for to-go orders and right door for dine-in.

The staff are great, communication wise, it was a good service. They don't hover around your table. They let you eat in peace then check back every now and then. This is on my list to go especially for a weekend out.
