I sometimes see packages that are obviously opened and then taped and sometimes even dirty items showing they were used and returned. Other than that, I've always had a positive experience. Plenty of parking and pretty decent hours of operation.

We took the time to stop in and check them out. We were amazed to find one in our odd size and brought it up. Turns out "the fine print says the sale is not on new-build materials." Hmm. Well, I took picture of the huge signs outside and see no "fine print," nor any signs within the store designating certain areas as exempt from the sale. Oh well. We put the window back and will take our business elsewhere.

I've picked up on some lingo over the years watching the tool-time sitcom, and I've stocked my tool box with orange juice and vodka, in case there's an emergency at home. You know the kind I'm talkin about? With that being drunk, I mean said, this smaller size hardware store didn't frighten me. I was able to find a few items rather quickly without having to walk miles of aisles, as I was not looking for a workout. Just some tools and gadgets. I found some nifty bungee cords set for $3.99, an air pump for my bike tires for $7.99 and oil lubricant for my bike chain and some squeaky window and doors in my house for $3.99. I even found - guess what? A philips end with a shank. Doesn't that sound fancy? How do you like that, I'm showing off now. What I couldn't find I asked the cashier and he pointed me in the right direction. I like it when there are actual people around to ask for where an item is or suggest what I might prefer or need for the type of mechanical, plumbing or electrical issue that's causing some mental issue. Like stress. Like low self esteem. Because I hate having home problems that I cannot fix myself or understand what the heck is going on. And I dread home problems which will be costing me plenty to get a professional over to fix. But this was a rather therapeutic experience for me taking my hardware phobia into account. Took a Stihl Leaf Blower in for repair 9/10/25…read more I had a amazon repair kit but they said "Get that Chinese junk out of here - we only use Stihl parts" Called several times and they said they were having trouble getting Stihl parts. Always told me It will be ready by the end of the week. It was ready today 11/29/25. Leaf pickup is long gone and I have snow covering my leaves. I won't be going back to Hector's - for anything.
