Aside from their appliance logistics, every employee has always been nice and helpful. Special shout out to the guys in the wood/carpentry department for being extra cool and helpful. Their staff have helped me load in a grill to a van and really gone above and beyond while helping out. So skip the appliances, but fan for other building needs.

We had the Home Depot contractors come and refinish our kitchen. Reface cabinets, new cupboard doors, and a peninsula built. The sales guy Andrew (who said "I'm not a typical sales guy") was extremely pleasant btw told us for an order placed on 9-24-2025, we would be completed for that Thanksgiving. Construction started on 12-29-2025 and I signed the complete paperwork in February or March. We were told we shouldn't have been told that from our not-sales guy. Too much to say here. Bottom line is we are extremely disappointed with most of it. Things don't line up, cupboard doors needed to be reordered at least twice, soft close hinges and slides get stuck and the material chips very easily. For $20k plus, we feel taken with the poor quality and length of time taken to complete ESPECIALLY being told a lie. And of course no one will return our calls or emails. Now I know people probably have had positive experiences and that's fantastic! We were not one of them.

If you are someone who loves hardware stores, and remembers when almost every neighborhood had one,…read morethen Pine Avenue Hardware is for you. In operation for 70 years they have tons of new old stock items and hard or impossible to find older plumbing, hardware, and household items. The store is really part museum with photographs of the owner decades ago with the likes of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, etc., as well as wonderful old store fixtures. But this is still clearly a neighborhood anchor. When we were there recently people came in to have keys cut, for a large cast iron frying pan, and other everyday items. You will not find the selection of a larger store, but no hardware store aficionado should be within 20 miles of Pine Avenue Hardware without stopping by.

They wrote out the type of bulbs to get but unfortunately these bulbs are virtually impossible to get. After numerous trips to try to find them we called the store yet again to tell them we were returning them. They were less than helpful, rude and promised they would look into it and get back to us but of course didn't. We were also informed that they do not accept returns and that it wasn't their problem..."they aren't in the light bulb business", imagine that...a light fixture store that isn't in the light bulb business! I would definitely recommend this store, but only if you are looking to purchase pretty things to hang from your ceiling that you can enjoy during bright sunny days or when you and your guests are wearing your worm picker headlamps that you purchased at Canadian Tire (which by the way come with the light bulbs)
