The person I spoke with (I refuse to call him a gentleman) very rudely told me it was strictly for employees use and I could go across the street and walked away. We left the store without purchasing what we needed and drove to the local Home Depot. I will never enter another Ace Hardware anywhere in the country and will dissuade anyone else from doing the same. I was publicly embarrassed and humiliated, something Home Depot or Lowe's would never do. Please let your local Ace hardware know your disabled veterans deserve better.

It should never have been on the shelf. With a 10 year guarantee for the battery I tried to return it and as they no longer sell it. I am out of luck. It would have to be reordered. Was told it would be in around March 25th. March 25th, I went to the store found it still wasn't in. I asked for refund. I was told no refund until it arrived at the store?! I asked for a manager because I couldn't believe that a national chain would charge me (credit card was billed the 12th) for something they couldn't supply, then refuse a refund. Guess what? The manager said the same thing! I eventually called their 800 number and Miguel was able to cancel the order for me. Are the staff at Home Depot stupid? Incompetent? Both? I don't know, but I won't ever go back.

The store is really part museum with photographs of the owner decades ago with the likes of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, etc., as well as wonderful old store fixtures. But this is still clearly a neighborhood anchor. When we were there recently people came in to have keys cut, for a large cast iron frying pan, and other everyday items. You will not find the selection of a larger store, but no hardware store aficionado should be within 20 miles of Pine Avenue Hardware without stopping by.

Staff here were friendly and in general, the store was well stocked, organized and clean. I cannot comment much upon the quality of the products that they sell. I can say that in general, if you aren't spending much on something, the quality you expect out of it shouldn't be that great and should last for not too long of a period of time. Regardless, everything I have boughten here (and I have actually bought tools before) has worked well for my uses. I'm not all that much of a hardware kind of guy; however, I enjoy shopping here and highly suggest this newer location.
