Lowe's is a standard go to for all things Home Improvement including some cleaning supplies. We like their lawn decorations for the holidays, too, but you need to get them early or you'll be out of luck. The paint department has never disappointed, the blinds in their brand have also been a regular go-to, Roth and Allen. On one Saturday we happened upon a little workshop going on with youngsters and happened to have one with us. She was warmly invited to participate and what a grand time she had! Kids learn early the joy of creating a project and in this case, Lowe's is a fun place to find your project supplies. Also, we return to Lowe's on dull cold Sunday evenings to walk our dog, since they welcome our furry friends. From purchasing our kitchen appliances to store walks with Winnie the Doodle, we have not been let down by Lowe's.

its gotta be embarrassing that a home improvement store hasn't repaired their front walkway in almost a year

Long lines to cash yourself out. No open lanes for employees to cash you out. Only shop here if you have extra time in your day.

I visited on a Saturday morning and was greeted as soon as I entered, and an employee offered to help me find the contact paper right away. The cashier also cashed me out quickly. Overall I had a good experience and would come here again if I needed something from a home improvement store.

He came out a few weeks ago to fix my basement toilet. He told me it was not up to code and he said that's why it wasn't working. He worked for about an hour and a half installing a vent for our pump toilet system. I never saw him do anything but install the vent. He never looked at the pump system at all. And obviously that was the problem. But he said it was fixed and I paid well over $600. Being a basement toilet, it wasn't used much, so several days later I discovered it still was not working. I called and they sent the same guy to fix it properly. He couldn't have complained more about actually having to finishing the job this time. He actually said to me, "are you on some kind of medication or something?" blaming me for the job he never fixed the first time. He said that I was to blame for the pipes being clogged. When I asked him, are you saying that I, using it at most three times since you were here, am responsible for clogging the pipes? He paused for about 5 seconds and then said "yes". I know he never really checked things properly the first time, because I was checking on what he was doing. I called and left a message with the owner and of course he couldn't bother to respond to me, a customer... and on top of all else, the plumber started raising his voice at me. He obviously was caught lying regarding even looking for any other reason than the vent issue as to why it wasn't working. When I spoke to the plumbing manager, he told me that they have been in business 100 years? How did that help me?? The guy that was in my house, should not be anywhere near the home owner. I did find someone that fixed it. Will never go near Ed Youngs again.

Every time I come here , I find the cutest little things ,that I end up spending so much money on. They have good things on clearance all the time, or just things on sale in big bins in the front of the store. They have a good selection of tools, and at home necessities (or just "wants") for the size of store they are. It's pretty small ,especially when compared to Home Depot, but, it has things you need in a hurry. You'll have to go in & check it out yourself. It's too hard for me to explain everything they have, I mostly pay attention to the fun stuff, that I want. Lol

I've picked up on some lingo over the years watching the tool-time sitcom, and I've stocked my tool box with orange juice and vodka, in case there's an emergency at home. You know the kind I'm talkin about? With that being drunk, I mean said, this smaller size hardware store didn't frighten me. I was able to find a few items rather quickly without having to walk miles of aisles, as I was not looking for a workout. Just some tools and gadgets. I found some nifty bungee cords set for $3.99, an air pump for my bike tires for $7.99 and oil lubricant for my bike chain and some squeaky window and doors in my house for $3.99. I even found - guess what? A philips end with a shank. Doesn't that sound fancy? How do you like that, I'm showing off now. What I couldn't find I asked the cashier and he pointed me in the right direction. I like it when there are actual people around to ask for where an item is or suggest what I might prefer or need for the type of mechanical, plumbing or electrical issue that's causing some mental issue. Like stress. Like low self esteem. Because I hate having home problems that I cannot fix myself or understand what the heck is going on. And I dread home problems which will be costing me plenty to get a professional over to fix. But this was a rather therapeutic experience for me taking my hardware phobia into account. I'll be back to shopping here again. but truly, a screwdriver to me is made of orange juice, vodka
