Never again! we'd give no stars, if we could. We've purchased many appliances here over the years, and have never had a bad experience. We won't patronize them again, for sure. We purchased a d/w and a OTR microwave, and paid for installation. The mess that was left behind was no where near "broom clean." In addition, when we opened our front door later in the evening, we found boxes, plastic wrapping, parts, etc strewn across our steps! the employees had entered thru our rear door, so we had no idea they had left such a mess behind. not only was the d/w poorly installed, it took us sending multiple photos and e/mails and making several phone calls to get someone out to correct the issue. We try to support local companies, but when friends purchased appliances for less money from one of the big boxes, had no installation problems and no debris left behind, why would anyone shop at orvilles? Bought a range stove online for instore pickup, employee loaded it on my trailer for me with a 2 wheeler (against store policy) got it home and unboxed and the whole side is crushed on a $1000 stove!!! Called and they transferred me to online customer service agent "bonnie" who had me send pics and then called the next day saying her manager wont help because its store policy for me to open it and check it in the store..... then transport it home in the rain with no box and how do i do that when your employee loaded it on the trailer and never told me that policy?!?! So after trying again, one of the service managers escalated the request to Whirlpool and Whirlpool ended up sending them a new dishwasher to install. Had to pay Orville's $200 to install the thing, but I suppose that's understandable. This wasn't my first experience with Orville's and I still prefer them to the big box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot for appliances, however, I'm taking stars off for not installing my clothes washer properly the first time and the poor attitude of the manager when I called to get them to come back and fix the problem. Was it resolved? Yes. Could it have been handled better? 100% I was offered a 'free' 3 year extended warranty for my trouble - I was supposed to receive that this morning in my email - I have yet to receive it. I will not purchase from them again - I talked to 2 different managers and was given attitude by the Store Manager who acted like he was doing me a favor for the '3 year extended warranty' that I will probably never use and have to to receive. I do not recommend Orville's for anyone. Orville's customer service has deteriorated. I bought a washer and dryer in December 2025. I had to call service because the delivery guy didn't level the machine and it jumped around in the basement. And they never turned on the gas. After I purchase the machine and before delivery, they stuck a delivery bill on the dryer with permanent adhesive. I was unable to remove the adhesive,. I called service to come and remove it or give me a new machine. A week later they sent someone out with goo gone but the adhesive would not come off. I called Whirlpool and they told me to use goo gone. Then Orville's told me it is "my responsibility to remove blemishes from the machine" even though they guaranteed my machine would arrive in the condition in which I bought it and that any blemishes would be fixed by Orville's. I called Orville's 4 times, and all staff and supevisors have told me that the problems with my machine which are due to delivery "are the customer's responsibility," and that this is my problem and they will no longer address the issue. My machine is not in the conditon in which I bought it, due to the fault of Orville's. I do not recommend Orville's to anyone. They do not stand by their guarantee. Please, look at your appliances before you take them from the store. We had a dishwasher installed and once it was almost fully installed, the plumber opened the door to find it crushed. On calling Orville's to request assistance from them, the sales manager told me that there was nothing they could do; he took no responsibility for the additional time and labor we have to pay for in now swapping this dishwasher out for another and he told me that my requesting something (namely, a discount on the dishwasher) was such that would be quite happy for me to no longer buy products from them. I have purchased numerous appliances at this location. I purchased a microwave and wall oven combination. Due to the cost of this appliance I also purchased the extended 5 year warranted. When I purchased I was told that I would get half the cost of the warranted plan back if the warranted was not used. I now have a malfunction bulb inside the framing of the microwave that needs to be changed. I made a claim through new leaf the warranted company and have been told that the warranted does not cover bulbs even though a dyi home owner can't really change this without taking a chance of damaging the unit. Orville's service cameout to look at unit. I have been back and forth with them about this and now they have stopped returning my calls. Even though the cost of the labor and part is fairly minimal Orville's does not appear to be willing to anything to remedy this situation. I also now have been told that the refund of half the cost of the warrantee is a store credit not half the money paid for the warranted plan. This was not explained when I bought the plan. I purchased a dryer. The dryer was installed on January 28th I went back to Orville's the following morning to tell them the dryer wasn't working properly (clothes were damp). I was told that's how dryers work nowadays. I needed to select "very dry" if I wanted the new dryer to perform like my old dryer. My clothes were still not drying! I went back for a second time and again I was told dryers don't completely dry the clothes because people like to hang them up (what???). Then I was told if I exchanged it I would need to pay a 50% (of what I paid for the dryer) as a restocking fee and I wouldn't be happy! At that point...I asked to speak to the manager...I had to call him the following day. I explained I came to the store the following day that it was installed with the issue. He told me I just needed to learn a different way to dry clothes. I told him when I googled my model number it stated the issue was the clothes don't dry. The manager said you can't believe what you read...even though it's exactly the problem I'm having?! I ended up calling Samsung. They ended up walking me through some tests and told me it was indicating the sensors were dirty. They instructed me on how to clean them. It appears to be working a little better. (It has not been banged into, bent or stepped on). The water is shooting at the door sounds like its leaking. I called, set up service appt thru Orvilles. Today a service person called and said they would only come out if I agreed (while still under warranty) to pay $199.99 to have it reinstalled! Before even looking at it. I shared my opinion this is BS! I was told "if I think it's BS go somewhere else to fix it!" They do not view this as "needing service". I suggested a bracket might have broke, the seal is coming away and water leaking. This did not change anything. They were not interested in servicing it - even under warranty. I called Kitchenaid direct, in 10 min was set up with a service call for next week under warranty. I have purchased 10 major appliances from Orvilles over last 22 years. Their service team is unacceptable. If they would have politely alerted me - after looking at it - if nothing is BROKEN they would have to reinstall and charge me $200, I would have agreed. The manner in which your service person spoke to me - telling me this is "not your problem if the installation is bad" - and "I should have called earlier before now to tell them its crooked." It just became crooked after 10 months of operation. So I will take your service person's advice, and go elsewhere for all major appliance purchases from now on. Orville's also carry high end appliances. There is a scratch and dent section that you can browse through to take advantage of even more savings. The salesman that we were dealing with was very helpful. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and even gave me his practical advice. I really like the fact he wasn't pushy and he didn't try to up sale me anything. He actually listened to what we were looking for, and showed us a few items that match our wants. My Wife's Review: I am very upset. My husband ordered us a new dryer about a week and an half ago and from its first use the timer is not working, it just runs and runs and it doesn't heat up. So the clothes are damp even if it's ran for 2 whole cycles. I could cry bc Orville's says essentially they can't do anything. We have to have a technician come and look at it. A dryer that doesn't stop running and has never worked. How am I supposed to feel safe with this running in my home with my children when there is no shut off? Also, I have a family with many people. Bought nearly all of my appliances from them for the past 25 years but we are DONE with Orville's. The past few years they have gone downhill with their customer service & in-store assistance. I used to like going there instead of other stores because of the assistance you'd get but they are just arrogant and give false information. Had a DC repair guy come in to help it out and he said not worth fixing because the parts have to be special ordered, given its age. So came here and HD and Lowe's to check out options. This place can deliver the next day. So if speed matters, come here and don't waste time with the other options. It's a wide open floor plan and the sales people know their info. I learned a little, which I'll forget by he time I have to buy another dryer. But that's fine. I didn't find this the cheapest option, but it's certainly competitive. I've already had a technician in for the washer that knocks super loud because I've been overloading! Overloading is more than 5 sweatshirts for this huge washer. I really wanted to love this home-town local appliance store, but I have to split the difference in my rating. Here's why: ** We abruptly needed a new economy-model fridge. I was going to go with a Lowe's model that was the best deal, but Lowe's couldn't deliver for a week. Not ideal, since we were fridge'less. Plus they don't remove the old fridge, so an added hassle. ** We ended up at Orville's, expecting the prices to be too high and just having to suck it up and wait. But we were pleasantly surprised. We found a bit nicer fridge they could deliver the next day and remove the old fridge for $100 more than what we planned on spending. So we dug in the couch cushions for the extra dough, and went with it. ** The fridge came the next day. My dad was home to accept it while we were at work. Dad called me right away, there were problems with delivery. He told the crew about the issues immediately, to which they said "it will just buff out when you wipe it down." It had two large razor-blade scratches across one side, a divot-dent on the same side, plus a large dent all the way across the top-front. We bought a brand new fridge, not a scratch-and-dent, so this was unacceptable. And definitely not something that could be "buffed out." ** I called Orville's immediately to demand a replacement. They said I had to text photos of the damage. My dad has no idea how to text photos, so I had to go home at lunch and lose my parking at work to do so. Definitely not pleased at this point. ** After they reviewed the texted photos, the service desk woman called and said her boss approved a replacement. PHEW! I was prepared to go to the mattresses if they gave me a hard time, but luckily the exchange was easy. They could deliver a new fridge the next day. ** I stayed home the next day to ensure a quality fridge was delivered. I'm not as nice as my dad. ;-) The replacement fridge was in great shape, and the delivery crew was very friendly and careful. Had this been the first fridge and first crew, this would have been a five-star review. We've had the new fridge a couple weeks now, and are happy with the product itself. It is unfortunate that Orville's didn't get it right the first time so we could have avoided the added inconveniences, on top of the stresses of being fridge'less and unexpected major expenses. I then called my salesman Mike and told him I wanted to buy a portable air conditioner and he said no problem stop by and pick it up I'll have it ready for you! My son in turn purchased the same one! Orville's used to be our go to place for appliances but over the years we started going to Home Depot or Lowe's. We decided to give oroville's a try again because we were always satisfied with our appliances we purchased from there. On this visit we were looking for an over the range microwave. We were greeted promply when we entered and were given time to look around to see what we liked. The salesman came back, explained a couple of options answered our questions and even showed us options that we had not considered. I appreciate the fact that he did not try to upsell with features and gadgets. We made our purchase and because they did not have ithe microwave in the store we were given the opportunity to either pick it up from their warehouse or come back the next day when it was available for pickup. We opted to drive out to the warehouse which was not very far and a nice ride. The warehouse was prompt, brought out the microwave & loaded it and to the trunk. We bought a microwave from them as part of our new build. From the beginning, the microwave kept on flipping its circuit breaker. We had an electrician (twice) check the breaker. They sent out an old guy who replaced some parts and that was useless. I asked to just replace the machine. NO! You have to call the manfacturer. So we did and it was total screw up getting them on the phone and making an appointment for their repair guy. That old toot came out with the same story, replaced parts and that did nothing, The manufacturer wouldn't replace it. I know stores try to throw you off by saying they have no responsibilities for what they sell and go to the manufacturer but it seems to me that if you run a business you should do what you can for the customer. They did nothing. Second, our washer went belly up. So I went to the store to check out new ones. When we first dealt with them the saleswoman was polite and helpful. This time, the person I talked with was in sleazy used car mode. Tried to mislead me on what was available. NO, they don't make that - BS. It was on the catalog and the big box folks had them. She went into mystery mode as to price and delivery. Has to check on that! Used CAR! Exhorbitant delivery price as compared to the big box guys.
