Unreliable and and rude. I gave him 2 older working washer dryer units to take and asked that he replace them with my 2 other younger units. he took the 2 older units. He stripped the water intake connection had I to replace the water connect on the washer and left me with a dismantled washer as he didnt know how the replace the connect. He then would not return to fix what he broke. I had to buy a new washer. Lost @ $1000 with John taking the 2 units and braking the washer which I then had to buy a new one. read more

It was a bit of a rocky road for me and a hard pill to swallow when my 3 yo Samsung washing machine decided it was done doing my dirty laundry. We recently purchased a new electric double-wall oven and added installation and disposal of the old unit at the time the order was placed. When the new oven was delivered, I was informed by the delivery team that they weren't qualified to do the installation and said I should contact the company I purchased it from. Much to my surprise, I was told that they don't have anyone who could do the installation and they'd be refunding the fees for the additional services (that hasn't happened yet). John responded very quickly, set up an appointment to stop by the next day to assess the situation, and then set up a second appointment to complete the installation the following day. He and his brother came to our home yesterday and completed the removal, installation, and haul away in under 2 hours. Less than 3 days from first contact to job completion!!!! We are thrilled with his responsiveness, knowledge, professionalism, and level of genuine care. He did the work for a reasonable fee and with the most favorable results. Bought a refurbished washer and dryer today from Buffalo Appliance Center. John came to install it within a day of placing the order and while my basement wasn't the easiest to get down to, he was able to get it in there by himself. He took my old washer & dryer as well, which I appreciated. The washer and dryer, although not new, do come with a 2 year warranty on parts and labor which gives you confidence if you're going with this sort of option. If you're looking to hook yourself up with appliances and don't care for them to be 100% new (they may have a scratch or a dent), definitely give Buffalo Appliance Center a call. read more

Is your refrigerator running? Well, mine wasn't running properly, and based on the solid reviews I gave John a call (and then based on the voicemail message, sent a text message). John's response to my inquiry was very prompt (took about 20 minutes). I described the issue my fridge was having and he was able to over the next day at Noon to come and check it out. By this point about half of my freezer stuff had thawed or was in the process of thawing, but he noticed that the lights on the water dispenser and temperature controls were off, so instead of the evaporation fan which he thought the issue may have been, he had me unplug and replug the refrigerator, and the lights reset, and the freezer was immediately starting to get cold again. Apparently somehow my fridge went into "defrost" mode and needed to be reset. Because he didn't perform any service, I wasn't charged anything, because he doesn't charge for service calls... only charges if actual work is done. He did however tell me to monitor the situation because the fridge is old and the compressor might be starting to go, and if something like this happens again and trying the reset doesn't work, it'll be time to get a new fridge. John was very professional and pleasant to deal with, and would gladly do business with him again if any of my other appliances show any sign of going wonky on me. read more

John is amazing. His philosophy on running a business is the first I ever seen. I'm away in California for an internship, but my father's refrigerator stopped working yesterday. I found the Buffalo Appliance Center on yelp and called right away. He worked with me when I had to call my father back for more information and responded quickly. The soonest he was able to come was the next day. Turns out, the air compressor is broken and he doesn't do this service. The manufacturer will have to be contacted. Before I was lucky enough to stumble upon Buffalo Appliance Heating & Cooling and the angelic (yes, angelic) man named John Murphy, I had called what felt like dozens of numbers in the attempt to get somebody to address my malfunctioning refrigerator in the midst of a heat wave. Dialing the number from heaven connected me to a live voice that informed me that even though he was busy, he would and could get to me at 5 PM. He was even kind enough to text me when he was on his way. My description of my issue allowed him to diagnose before his arrival so I already knew up front what his reasonable fee would be. And that is what it was, "A" fee, not 20 different fees for 20 different silly reasons. The only surprise was that he was able to diagnose and repair my dryer as well, saving me from a prior appointment I had made with another provider for three days later! As for the quality of his service, the repairs speak for themselves but they fail to exhibit the professionalism with which they were made. John is a patient man who explains the issue and what he is going to do to fix it. Moreover, his patience on the phone after the fact when my all too worried little self asked way too many questions was exceptional. In a nutshell or in five stars, since that are as many as there are available, I have found my permanent repair person for the future. read more

It then became impossible to get him to commit to finding the solution (possibly a bad wire). It would be too time consuming was the response I got. Three weeks later, we still cant get a commitment from him about coming out, probably because he doesn't want to do the job. If you have an easy repair- he'll do it. DO NOT USE. I called the gentleman named John early this morning to ask if he could come and fix my dryer the same day. He said that he could for a $140. He said that he would be here between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM. He arrived at 2:12 PM as I have cameras all around my home. He text me after one to tell me that he would be there at 1:30 I texted him back and said my front doorbell does not work the front doors open. Around 1:35 PM I called him to tell him that my front doorbell to come in the front door and that it was open for him. I also mentioned that he could call my house phone which was the number that I was currently calling him from to let me know when he arrived if he did not want to just walk in because I had left my cell phone across the street. So I left the front door open for him and I gave him my house phone number.When he came in me and my housekeeper spoke and said thank you for coming I'll be down in one moment. When I got to the bottom of the stairs he was already outside leaving my porch. I asked him where he was going he said he had to get to another appointment. I said you 'were already late to this one how are you going to leave and not fix my dryer?'' He said his time is valuable and that I had him waiting. My cameras indicate he was not even waiting two minutes INSIDE MY HOME! I was explaining to my housekeeper how I needed something done. It was literally not even two minutes that he was waiting at the bottom of the steps inside my house before he decided to takeoff and leave. I could have booked someone else for this job if I knew that he was going to come an hour late to our appointment. I would definitely be putting this on every review platform because that was the most unprofessional thing I have ever experienced in my entire life and I do not appreciate my time being wasted my expectations being let down nor the way he spoke to me. He is a manipulative narcissist who try to make me feel guilty about speaking to my housekeeper when he arrived nearly an hour late because I kept him waiting for less than two minutes. If he was booked then he should have used integrity to just let me know he wasn't going to be able to make it today.
