We had an air conditioning unit installed by Vantage in January, 2022. We were told at that time to call in May to get things ready to go for summer. John arrived as promised, and spent at least and hour and a half checking things out and making sure the air conditioning was in good working order. John noticed that we needed a new circuit breaker, and went and bought one, and installed it for us. He answered all of our questions and spent time explaining how the thermostat works, and how to set it for optimum comfort. I highly recommend John and Vantage Heating and Cooling. read more

I had gotten in touch with John from Vantage through Yelp, on a Wednesday & by Friday , I had 2 men out here looking at my furnace, giving me their expert opinion on the situation , what was wrong, what needs to be done & when someone could come out to take care of it all , if we decide to go with their company to get the furnace repaired by them. They were thorough, ran a few tests, checked everything out, including the 2 thermostats. I'm supposed to be getting a call for the quote on how much it'll cost to get fixed. I'm waiting on that now. I made the appt. for August 19th at 9am. The guys were at my house right at 9am !! It took less than the 8-9 hours I was told it would take. It took about 5 & 1/2-6 hours. They were fast, hard working, told me what they did & if there are any problems (which I won't find out til it gets cold outside) to just call them & they'll check it out & do more work. Very easy to talk to. Very pleasant . They said my furnace should work just fine & I trust that it will. read more

What a good service experience. John is knowledge, efficient and most of all - honest. He did Not trying to sell me parts that I did not need for a furnace that is at the end of it's life. He did various types of troubleshooting and and got my furnace running again. As he was working, he patiently explained to me what he was doing and the mechanism on the furnace and it's various parts. Someone like me "mechanically challenged" is now the better for all that free education! Here's another winner thanks to Yelp! John even told me about the National Fuel rebate offers. Yesterday I called "the competition" because the furnace had stopped overnight and they had serviced it last year. The tech arrived on time, but that's the end of any positives about the experience. He looked at the unit in a perfunctory way, and when the furnace didn't light, he said "It's your gas valve". He said he had to order the part and would be coming back the next day. I had a nagging feeling about the encounter, so I decided to call Vantage. The owner of the company, John, arrived early today and spent 45 minutes exploring all possible reasons why the furnace was malfunctioning. Bottom line, the problem was the flame sensor. It was dirty. It had a low reading. He cleaned it with a scouring pad and the reading tripled. The other guy spent 10 minutes here, told us we had a faulty valve, and was going to charge us $504 for the valve (at least a $100 markup, I researched it) plus $89 for the service call. All we had to pay with Vantage was a $75 service call, and actually received service! The other guy didn't even bother to diagnose any other possible issues, just went for the valve. I'm glad I called these guys for a "second opinion"! So, needless to say...I urge you to call Vantage first for excellent service at a fair price. They won't try to sell you something you don't need, and they won't charge for a separate "service call"; it's rolled into the price if a repair is needed. In other words, they are honest and reputable, and I'll recommend them any chance I get. read more

Had John come out to quote an A/C job. He was super respectful, quoted everything promptly and was one of the more communicative contractors I spoke with. I loved working with him and he is very responsive with Yelp's Request a Quote feature as well. The timeline for the installation didn't particularly workout in this instance, but I'm totally planning to keep him in mind for the future. I've called at least 30 times since August to get a quote for a new gas furnace and air conditioner but have not received a return phone call. ​​​​​​I typically use Yelp to find restaurants, spa services, and things like that. Our furnace went out a couple of weeks ago, and I turned to Yelp first. I was actually kind of surprised to find that there were results offered. Not only that, they were results with actual reviews! I chose one from Angie's List and one from here. I was able to request a quote from Vantage Heating and Cooling directly through Yelp, and holy cow! I got a response IMMEDIATELY! The reason I didn't call was that​ it was so late, but John responded within Yelp in less than ten minutes. It blew me away how fast I heard back from him! We worked out all the details within Yelp, and John was out to my house the next day to look things over. I showed him where the furnace is in my house, and we talked a bit about some options. While I did have the heating temporarily repaired before I even called him, I knew I was going to need a new furnace, and he confirmed that. ​I asked him some questions about zoning. We have a large home and have heard that some of the problems we have would be fixed if we would only add a second zone. John explained why this probably wouldn't be the best option for me, citing the cost involved, and even told me why it might not​ work in the end. I feel like John took a lot of time with me, and never once did I feel rushed. He walked me through my basement and showed me how I could close some of the dampers to lessen the amount of heat going into individual​ rooms. At the end of his visit, John told me he would work up a customized estimate based on what we had discussed. I knew I was going to hire him even before the guy I found on Angie's List showed up. Less than an hour later, the **other** guy from the **other** place was knocking on my door. From the start, I didn't click with him. He talked too fast. He essentially kicked me out of my basement. (I went down with him to show him where the furnace is, and then he told me, "Okay. I'll come up when I'm done.") When he gave me my estimates, the very first estimate was under a heading labeled "band-aid." As though if I opt for the cheapest furnace, it's merely a band-aid and not a "real" fix. After he left, he came right back to my door because he forgot his flashlight in my basement. I had to ask him to repeat himself though because he talks so fast that I had no idea what he was asking me. There was a lot going on at my house before Christmas, and since we had the heating temporarily fixed, I didn't call John back right away. And then the heat went out again late Christmas Eve. I put in a note to John to let him know we were moving forward with the furnace purchase. We traded a few messages, and he was able to clear his schedule for December 26th to come out and install my new Carrier furnace. He estimated it would take up to eight hours to remove the old furnace and install the new one. It did not take him that long. He and the guy he worked with (I'm so sorry I forgot his name) were polite and thoughtful. They treated my home with respect, and I was never once uncomfortable having them in my house​. John explained the ins and outs of the furnace to my husband, showed us the user guide and pointed​ out the warranty. He told us where to keep the page open to. When he left, I knew his rates, how to contact him should I need him, and everything else you'd hope to ​know when you have a new piece of equipment like that installed in your home. I do not hesitate​ to recommend Advantage Heating and Cooling. Honestly​, John understands his business is his customers, and his customer service is excellent! read more

Vantage heating and cooling definitely is a business I would recommend to anyone with heating and or cooling concerns. They came to my rescue immediately on a Sunday when my air conditioner blade broke which caused my system to go down. They worked as quickly as they could to get me back up and running and stayed in contact with me with any concerns getting the part. They not only expedited my parts but payed the extra cost. When only 1 of the parts came they came out and put that in and when the 2nd part came in they reduced the final cost for any inconveniences of his entire process. In my opinion they continued to try to make me a happy customer to the end. Not only would I highly recommend them but I would definitely reach out again to them if I needed any of these services. Even though the opportunity for upselling was there, as all my equipment is probably 30 years old, he didn't. He also cleaned my furnace filters and explained a bit about my "vintage" furnace. I loved how quickly they responded to my request for a quote through Yelp, did all the scheduling through the app, then sent me reminders and updates via text when on the way. Can't say enough how thankful I am for John and Vantage Heating and Cooling. Ran into a sticky situation with some bad boiler service (from another company) and a broken boiler. We have a very "rare" boiler for this area but John worked his butt off to eventually figure out what was wrong. In addition to this he didn't charge us for any of the unexpected parts we needed and he honored the original quote he gave us. Lastly, John came out to our house in a snow storm to finally install the last part we needed to get our boiler running before the polar vortex hit. I tried calling Vantage Heating and Cooling early October and got their auto attendant which gave me three options. The best option seemed to be "scheduling". It rang several times then went to voicemail. I left a message but never heard back. All we needed was a yearly checkup for our furnace. I had the misfortune to wake up this morning with no heat in my house. I called Vantage and left a message to schedule an appointment. I wasn't expecting to hear from anyone for a while, but about 10 minutes later, John, the owner, called me back and told me he would be here in about an hour. He was early. Awesome! He looked at my furnace, got it running, and then left to replace the part that was old and not working correctly. He was back within the hour to permanently fix the furnace. Professional, Honest, Courteous, Amazing!! Like many of us, we cringe when something goes wrong with our home that is out of our ability to fix on our own.
