But it's not as smooth as other websites, they want you to call the store with the part number to confirm availability. However this wasn't too bad, the associate Tom pulled the items for me and kept behind the counter. The items were ready for pickup immediately, so it was great to be able to pay in store then be in and out quickly. The associate that cashed me out was courteous, and overall I had a great experience! I would recommend for their nice staff and good prices.

I also appreciate that I don't feel like they're trying to oversell or upsell on things I could do less expensively. For example, we are redoing our kitchen ourselves (it's an ongoing process if you know what I mean) and we reused the old cabinets because they were in good shape. The old cabinets had doors that were not compatible with hidden hinges unless you wanted to spend an *obscene* amount of money on hinges. The guys at Rockler's walked me through the options and I realized that we just needed new doors. Initially I thought we would make the doors but then that felt a bit overwhelming with all we needed to do. So I decided that we were going to buy doors. Rockler's sells doors. I figured that was perfect. When I went back in to tell the guy helping me that we were going to buy new doors, he told me that the style door we were interested in was actually a very simple one to make. He outlined the process right then and made us feel much more confident about the process. Making doors is really a better option for us because we will save a lot of money that way and we've done some woodworking before - just not cabinet doirs. We stopped in today to get our materials and when I saw that they didn't have any reviews I wanted to add one right away. If you're looking for a truly knowledgable staff that will support you or simply provide quality materials, definitely stop into this location of Rockler's.

He came out a few weeks ago to fix my basement toilet. He told me it was not up to code and he said that's why it wasn't working. He worked for about an hour and a half installing a vent for our pump toilet system. I never saw him do anything but install the vent. He never looked at the pump system at all. And obviously that was the problem. But he said it was fixed and I paid well over $600. Being a basement toilet, it wasn't used much, so several days later I discovered it still was not working. I called and they sent the same guy to fix it properly. He couldn't have complained more about actually having to finishing the job this time. He actually said to me, "are you on some kind of medication or something?" blaming me for the job he never fixed the first time. He said that I was to blame for the pipes being clogged. When I asked him, are you saying that I, using it at most three times since you were here, am responsible for clogging the pipes? He paused for about 5 seconds and then said "yes". I know he never really checked things properly the first time, because I was checking on what he was doing. I called and left a message with the owner and of course he couldn't bother to respond to me, a customer... and on top of all else, the plumber started raising his voice at me. He obviously was caught lying regarding even looking for any other reason than the vent issue as to why it wasn't working. When I spoke to the plumbing manager, he told me that they have been in business 100 years? How did that help me?? The guy that was in my house, should not be anywhere near the home owner. I did find someone that fixed it. Will never go near Ed Youngs again.

I had a little spare time while passing by again today, and pulled in. I was immediately greeted by Riley, a good natured Golden Retriever with a tail on non-stop wag mode. Passing through the door, I was also hailed by Dan Curtis, who owns the shop with his wife, Julie. Dan warmly welcomed me right away. For a small, cozy shop in someone's home, it is PACKED full of lovely things; handmade candles, birdhouses, decorative hand painted signs, antiqued furniture, floral arrangements, tea, etc. And even though the sheer amount of goods was a little staggering, there was definitely order to it. I was immediately charmed. While I browsed, Dan chatted with me and another customer perusing the shelves. "95% of the things you see in the shop are made right here by my bride," he informed me. "There's nothing she can't do." Looking around, it was hard not to be impressed. A few minutes later, Julie came out, and like her husband, I found her very gracious and welcoming. She was happy to chat with us. For handmade things, I was surprised to see that the prices really weren't as high as I expected them to be. I picked out three wall accents, and I think I spent less than forty bucks. Not bad. I could have bought more (and wanted to) but my budget wouldn't allow it. This place is awesome, and I love love love supporting a local business, especially one run by such friendly people. I'll definitely be back - they have great gifts! Oh, and a tip - if you can't make it in during normal hours, you can make an appointment. And if you swing by off hours (within reason, obviously) and Dan happens to be in the shop, he'll open it up for you. Yay for a great locally owned shop! (PS. I wish I could give this place another star, for the adorable dog.)
