However I have found myself here twice in the past week. The first time was to try to find pruners that can be used standing. While we were not able to find those, sadly, the owner (I think) and his employee went out of their way to see how they could help me. Then, a few days later, I find myself on a mission to find a certain kind of plant food. I had already checked at Home Depot while buying bird seed, but they had not had it come in for over a year and were not sure when it was coming in. I called Walmart, Loews, and two garden stores in the area too. They did not have any in stock either. On a whim I stopped in here again, asked the employee if they had it, he took me to the aisle and there it was!! I scooped up the two boxes they had. This store looks small from the outside, but it is quite large once inside. It is next to and connected to the Schuele Paint Store, more or else on the corner of Summer and Main. Rather than travel to the suburbs, I will go here first now, they are helpful, pleasant, local and easy to get to.

My project today required quart-sized paint samples in multiple colors to complete my DYI corn hole boards in a watermelon design. The whole adventure of shopping at the Holland Hardware is a walk down memory lane. In addition to a great paint department, I love the well-stocked garden and outdoor recreation items. While most area stores are completely wiped out of vegetable seed, Holland Hardware still has a full selection of seed for my second crop of summer veggies. Today I snagged a package of endive seed to fill in my rows. Looking forward to completing my game boards in time for the high school graduation party we're hosting!

I did think the regular prices on the gallon pots were a bit steep but otherwise very happy with the price of everything. They have an enormous selection of both annuals and perennials so it's easy to find what you're looking for.

They had lots of Easter décor when I visited for gift baskets and whatnot. They have a shelf with pre-shaped bonsai trees (seemed on the steeper pricing side) but I did not see any bonsai pots, soil, or care / maintenance tools for them, which tells me these are kind of intended to be a gift-and-forget-tree not a support-bonsai-hobbyists-tree. Overall prices felt high to me compared to other local garden centers and the atmosphere didn't give me a feeling like I wanted to hang out to learn more. Based on other reviews, maybe spring is not the right time to visit - maybe I'll try back in the fall when there are apples. Instead of a helpful or informative response, I was met with a dismissive tone and a lack of willingness to engage in the conversation. I completely understand that businesses may not want to share sourcing details, but the way it was communicated came across as unnecessarily guarded and unwelcoming. As a customer who is genuinely interested in plants and learning more, I expected a more respectful and informative interaction. There is a big difference between setting boundaries and making customers feel shut down. Unfortunately, this experience felt more like the latter. I hope this is something that can be improved, because customer interaction matters just as much as the products being sold.

We had sent flowers for Valentines Day, her birthday, Easter, and Mother's Day, all in a row. The first three were from a highly respected place in Lackawanna place and she enjoyed them very much. But, my spouse was a little behind for Mother's day and W's was fully booked. Enter Mischler's to the rescue. Mischler's not only delivered to South Buffalo, it was a beautiful arrangement that bloomed for weeks. It was full and wonderful as delivered, but additional buds bloomed for weeks. My MIL was overjoyed. On top of it all, we got the sweetest letter after the fact thanking us for buying flowers from them. Now it's time to buy flowers for the celebration of life for my MIL's sister and Mischler's is exactly where she is ordering from. 10 out of 10.
