Terrible communication. Sent a detailed email of times we were available... After a week received an email asking if he could come during a time I clearly said I wasn't available. I emailed asking for a phone call and left a message at the office with no response. Finally got an email last night seeing if he could meet at 8 ... By 10:30 and no show I asked they don't come. Long story short, don't waste your time!! read more

I worked with Dominic on a small bathroom renovation for my Chicago condo. As I live in California, I was expecting a long distance renovation was going to be difficult to manage. Dominic and the Irpino group made the experience very easy. They were patient and persistent with my design choices and schedule. They were familiar with my building and it's regulations which made the process even smoother. Their attention to detail and finishing work was excellent and I am very happy with the results. read more

Irpino Construction just completed a full renovation of my bathroom. The final product is absolutely beautiful. After asking friends and coworkers for referrals in the city I had no luck. I researched via Yelp and came across Irpino Construction. Dominic and his team were great to work with. This is the first renovation I've done at my home so I needed extra hand holding. Dominic and his has his team were able to guide me every step of the way. The main concern I had with my bathroom was very little hot water pressure. Irpino Construction went the extra mile in adding even more new piping to my shower which really improved the water pressure. I'm really glad I found Irpino Construction and won't go with anyone else on future projects! read more

I can't say enough great things about Dominic- i bought a condo in a 50's high rise in original condition, and needed the whole thing gutted- I was terrified because I had a tight budget and I'd never done any renovation work. I needed a wall removed, a whole new kitchen, a laundry room added, and various small small repairs. Dominic was very patient about answering all my questions, and was very honest about the costs, timelines, and potential pitfalls. All the work was excellent quality, and the renovation was ahead of time and under budget. Dominic fixed all the problems that came up with the renovation (including an issue with the kitchen design) and had excellent design recommendations. I highly recommend Dominic with no reservations and will be hiring him again for my bathroom renovation! read more

We hired Irpino Construction after having extreme water damage to our condo in the winter. 2/3rds of our condo was down to studs. We lost all walls through the living room, master bedroom, hall, and bathrooms, needed hardwood floors redone, electrical work and on and on. At the same time, we decided to do a complete remodel of our 2 bathrooms. We interviewed 5 companies and Irpino stood out to us as the best fit and we were right! Dominic and his crew were amazing. We have a unique situation in that this is our second home so we needed someone who could completely manage the project, make decisions and communicate effectively. Dominic did all of this and more. He was very attentive and organized so we could make decisions quickly. He was honest in all recommendations for the remodel and was always responsive to all questions. And, when I say responsive, I mean responsive! He would either answer our calls or return them within a very short time. It was incredible. Dominic also has an extensive network of subcontractors and high end suppliers who were equally as good and cost competitive. The final product is a beautiful new home. We are really looking forward to more projects with Irpino Construction because it was such a great experience. read more

So happy with Irpino's work. Fair, quick, and quality. Said what they would do and did what they said. No hesitation recommending Irpino Construction. read more

We had a very positive experience with Irpino Construction in renovating our condominium hospitality room. The project manager, Vinicio was exemplary and his staff is praiseworthy. They all work together in complete harmony and exhibited positive demeanor with any suggested changes or alterations. They were punctual, precise and their work reflected very detailed installations. The crew is truly a group of professionals. Their skills have no boundaries and their work is outstanding. We highly recommend them. read more

An enthusiastic 5 stars! We had water damage to our house and needed a skilled craftsman to appraise the damage for a claim we were putting together. Dominic of Irpino Construction not only was extremely prompt and flexible with his availability; but he was also extremely friendly and honest in his assessment. It's extremely rare to find people of his caliber in this type of industry, and I would therefore wholeheartedly recommend him and his company for any project. read more

Dominic and his team added a door and wall to create a 2nd bedroom. They also buffed the floors and professionally cleaned the carpets. All walls were painted as well. We had some folks go in after the work was done and they stated that the unit was immaculate; i.e. like new. WE are so happy with the work that was done. Dominic has a level of trust with his clients that is not to be overlooked. He really cares about the end product regardless whether this was a $250k job or a $3k job. He is truly an artist in a world of contractors. read more

I had the worst bathroom in a new loft I just purchased, and it needed a complete gut and renovation. I had a budget and a time-frame which they made work, and I cannot be more happy with the results. Dominic and Jaime were the absolute best to work with. From the beginning of the process and the quote from Dominic, to the weekly meetings with Dominic and Jaime as the project progressed, to the daily interactions I had with the crew, I cannot stress how easy they made home renovation. Thank you so very much for my new bathroom and I'm looking forward to doing the master bath!! read more

I hired Irpino to install new flooring in my basement and bathroom. Every step of the process was seamless. They showed up when they said they would, worked hard and kept the worksite clean. I live in an old house and the basement floor was not level due to tree growth underground and they did an outstanding job leveling the floor and putting down tile - hard to believe there was once a giant hump in the middle of the floor. Vinicio and his team took great care in their work and the final result shows that. I plan to hire them in the future for additional projects. read more

Irpino Construction did a great job on our guest bathroom. We replaced the tile on the floor and shower, replaced the bathtub and the light fixtures. They completed the work on time, on budget and it looks fabulous! This is the third project in which I have used Irpino Construction and I will continue to use them in the future. I would highly recommend them for house projects!! read more

Dominic was amazing to work with. His team remodeled our kitchen, and delivered everything on time and exactly how we expected. His pricing was extremely competitive, and most importantly we felt confident that we were partnering with an honest and straightforward man. I would use IRPINO again in a heartbeat. read more

My wife and I have had the pleasure of working with Dominic both in the Real Estate arm of their company, and just recently the Construction group on a bathroom remodel. I can not speak highly enough about either experience. As first time home buyers, Dominic made the process much less intimidating and much more enjoyable than we had anticipated. He was very knowledgeable about the market, negotiating, and the process. Before we even started looking at condo's, Dominic took the time to get to know us in a very earnest and sincere way. This came through as he made recommendations on which properties we would be happy with and which we would be better to avoid. We have been in our condo for just over a year and couldn't be happier. Just recently, we finished a complete gut rehab of our bathroom. We again went through Dominic and found the experience to be just as pleasurable as when we bought our home. He made good recommendations and stayed in contact throughout the process. We also were able to work closely with Jaime, who was our project manager for the job. He, and his crew, were very professional and did amazing work. There were a couple minor hiccups, which always happens in construction, and Jaime handled them with poise and went out of his way to make sure everything was ultimately completed to the highest level and to our satisfaction. My wife and I would recommend Dominic and the Irpino team without the slightest hesitation. read more

I had a very different experience with this company. We moved to a single family home in River forest and had been interviewing a few contractors. I came across Irpino construction through yelp. And called them. Dominic was very pleasant to communicate with throughout. Funny thing was we later found out that my husband and him went to the same high school. After a couple of meetings - Dominic told us that his partner Charles would come to our house since he lived closer to our house and would give us the estimate, etc. Charles came to our house in mid Nov. He was supposed to give us an estimate after about 10 days or so. We never heard from him. I contacted Dominic and told him about it. He said Charles is traveling and will get back to you soon. And he also told me that you should look for another contractor in the mean time. We are in the mid feburary now. I still don't have any email from Charles. read more

Very poor communication. Customer service is something this company could spend some time and effort learning about. It starts with returning an email or phone call. Good luck to you. Success is reflected in how you treat ALL of the people you come in contact with. read more

I contacted Irpino Construction to replace several lighting fixtures and ceiling fans in my condo this past summer. I realize this is not a big job, but they surpassed any expectations I had. The contractor was pleasant, polite and arrived early to the job. (Plus he was friendly to my dog!) He did the work efficiently and left my place in the same state it was in when he arrived. Their rates are extremely competitive. The entire experience with Irpino Construction was nothing but positive - I really cannot say enough good things about them!! read more

I contacted six companies back in early September via Yelp and Dominic, at Irpino, was one of the two that responded. He couldn't be any nicer and quick to respond to all my emails and texts. I only gave him 4 stars because I haven't hired anyone to do the job yet. If / when I do, I will update my post to reflect the job done. I would certainly recommend you contact Dominic to review your job. read more

he deserve more than 5 stars! He was so patient and helpful to us, first time condo owners, he spent an hour just going over all the things we want to do and answered all our questions. the whole time he's so sweet and pleasant so you don't feel bad asking at all. then he gave us a very detailed quote the same day. we waited for almost a week to call him back and changed quite a few things he was still happy to help us out in any way he could. we used him to remove out pop corn ceiling and now our ceiling looks so nice! we tried to paint ourselves but ended up removing some of the paint off the the ceiling, he came back to help us fix everything at a reasonable price. we recommended him to all our friends and def strongly recommend him on yelp! thank you so much! just fyi he also has all A reviews on angies list too! read more

Out of three bids, I chose Irpino Construction to renovate my bathroom based on their great reviews and fair price. This past summer, Dominic and his team did a total gut of my 1950's bathroom and had it completed ahead of schedule, on budget, in less than three weeks. (Don't wait like I did! It was one of the best things I've done for my home.) Dominic is professional, patient, thorough, satisfaction-driven, and a kind man, to boot. This was my first bathroom reno and he helped me navigate uncharted territory (finishes, how much to tile, what size tile, plumbing placement) and his recommendations were often the more economical choice, too. We worked with Sarah B (5-stars for her, too) at Crawford Plumbing and coordination was seamless. Angel demo'd my bathroom in an amazingly short period of time (36hrs?) and Humbert completed it, working tirelessly and meticulously. All gentlemen. Jump at the chance to work with this team. read more

My husband and I just had Irpino complete a project we've been talking about for years. We've always wanted to turn the top floor of our town home into a separate bedroom rather than simply have it as a lofted space. Irpino completed the entire project in just three week's time, despite some complicated tasks like moving an AC/heat unit. Dominic, Jaime, and the rest of the team were professional, efficient, and attentive to any and all of our questions and concerns. We are so happy with the finished result and would recommend Irpino to anyone looking for a construction team. read more

We are in the process of putting our home on the market and irpino construction was a great partner in getting that done. They were easy to work, showed up on time and every day until the work was done. They cleaned up after themselves every day which was great. They built a wall for us, worked on electric , painted and a few other odds and ends. Very happy with the results. Would definitely use them again! read more

Wow. I needed some concrete and masonry work. I called their office and a receptionist answered (great isn't it?). I asked about the work we needed and received Dominic's email (owner). I emailed him, and he replied quickly (great isn't it?) He referred someone to me. That company came, was the most prepared out of anyone, and w'ell be hiring them. I emailed to thank Dominic for the referral, and he replied again! Have you seen irpino's website? Beautiful website and design of their work. I hope I can hire them in the future. read more

We had our basement completed by these guys in TWO WEEKS. Our basement flooded twice and the first time it took six months for some other contractor to finish the project. We are very please with Dominic's crew in their workmanship and efficiency. They are fast, good, price reasonable, and clean in their work. Besides that is they are very good with communication. We never had problem to get hold of them right from the beginning. read more

When me and my husband decided to remodel our basement we knew that it is very important to find the right contractor. Irpino Construction did an excellent job. Dominic is a very professional person and the project was handled with a lot of attention to detail from start to finish. He made sure to discuss and explain every step of the project, leaving us completely satisfied and winning our trust. We would definitely use Irpino Construction for any future projects. The basement looks amazing and all my family loves spending time there together. Thank you Irpino Construction for your excellent professionalism and great attitude! read more

Irpino Construction installed a new shower in our master bathroom. Dominic and his team were very reliable, respectful, responsive, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the installation. While the installation took a while, the job was performed excellently overall. We had one issue that needed followed up on after the installation, and Dominic and his team took care of it promptly and free of charge. read more

They have done two projects for us. Everyone at this company works efficiently and they are very reasonably priced. Dominic and all of his team were accommodating to our scheduling needs. I highly recommend them for any interior or exterior construction. The ensured that damage caused by water looked good as new. -Jason and Megan from 1369 read more

Dominic and his team are dream to work with. As an interior designer I am so grateful to have found a reputable contractor to recommend to my clients. The team as timely, cleans up after themselves at the end of the day, and do amazing work on top of that. There are very few contractors I can say that about and I've been in this business for 14 years. read more

In the past few years, Dominic did extensive, and amazing, renovation work on our Lakeview house. Indeed, there is a detailed Yelp review on that, but Yelp's software has, for some reason, decided not to recommend that you read it, but it's still there, if you dig through the "not recommended" reviews. Anyway, last year, we purchased a second home, a condo in a high-rise by the lake. (In fact, Dominic, who is also a Realtor, handled that purchase for us!) When we were shopping for the condo, my wife and I, and Dominic, of course, noticed things that could stand improvement. Post-sale, we decided to proceed and address these items. And that's a point that needs to be made here: Dominic brings a strong sense of reality and balance to such discussions. He NEVER tries to talk you into things, he never tries to get you to do more than needs to be done, and he is always looking after your pocketbook like it's his money you're prepared to spend on renovations. So, after Dominic convinced us it wasn't necessary -- at least not yet! -- to do some of the work, we had him update the condo and bring it into the 21st century. We re-did a bunch of closets, we removed and replaced lights, and we did some renovations to both bathrooms. On tap for this year is the more serious renovation of the kitchen. As I have said in my prior review, I don't even bother consider using any other contractor. Why would you? Dominic is honest, he cares - both about you and your property - and he is trustworthy. He listens so, so well. He won't rush you. He can be counted on for great ideas, things you would have never thought of. He knows the people you need to get the job done beautifully, and not just his own guys, but the vendors who supply the materials and the specialty subs who do the work. The quality of the work that he will deliver to you is beyond question. His crews are skilled, polite, careful, and quick. He is responsive, to the point where if he can't get to your email during daylight hours, you can expect an answer at 2:30 am. And, his pricing is fair and transparent. I have known Dominic for seven years, and I have never -- ever -- heard anyone say a negative word about him, or his work. His reputation is impeccable, and it is well earned. read more

Amazing work! I needed some work done on a condo I just bought. They did an amazing job painting, installing ceiling fans, a heat register and crown molding. Clean, respectful, friendly, great communication and even better results. I had a breaker blow while they were working here (totally unrelated to the work they were doing) and they arranged for a electrician to come in an fix everything. Which was awesome since this is my first place and didn't know a good electrician. Also recommended an excellent flooring company to refinish the floors. In my opinion, if you're using another general contractor, you're making a mistake. If I could give 6 stars, I would. read more

This is about a year overdue, but better late then never. For the past 9 years we have lived in a huge condo, which was completely rehabbed when we moved in. After working with an awful and incompetent GC, we ended up with a master bathroom, which was not properly built and flooded the unit underneath. We had put in thousands of dollars into repairs, which did not help mostly due to the fact that the building has concrete ceilings and pinpointing leaks is nearly impossible. After not using our master bath for approximately two years and having had three children, we decided to bite the bullet and have the bathroom redone. When I contacted Dominic, I was concerned with two things: 1. would a company of this size take on a tiny bathroom project and 2. is he going to be the same as every single other general contractor I have had to deal with, i.e. money hungry and incompetent.Well, lucky for us, Irpino Construction was neither of those things. They were definitely not the cheapest, but at this point, we have had to learn the hard way that you get exactly what you pay for. The work progressed quickly and we did not feel pushed, rushed or shoved off to the side. There was a concrete timeline and we always knew what to expect. We wanted to save some of the fixtures, such as our sink and vanity and toilet and the workers were very careful with removing these items to ensure they weren't damaged. Every single worker was kind and respectful of the fact that we are a family with small children. Now, whenever I need quiet time - guess where I hide, in my very small, but very cozy bathroom where I don't need to worry about flooding my neighbors! read more
