We had planned to stop at the Roy Rogers but exited the thruway too early. I'm glad we did. Iron Skillet is apparently a throwback to Hubbo's childhood. I don't think that I've ever been. This location has a full menu and a full buffet option. If I had been hungrier, I def would have gone for the buffet, even though the mashed potatoes looked a little crusty. It had fried chicken, fish, and lots of sides to choose from. Hubbo got the (No surprise!) Chicken friend steak. It was pretty good and exactly as he remembered it. I thought the breading was good, and the meat under seasoned. I had the chicken quesadilla, which was great. Grilled onions and black beans, under-seasoned but tender chicken chunks. The salsa was a little weird and the spicy sour cream was good. Good service.

Got here on a Sat morning and sat right down. Ordered brekfes and it came out in 10 minutes. Food was hot and good. My bf's French toast was a bit undercooked, so he had some of toast. Friendly waitress, she was polite and attentive.

Actually I'm not a fan of Iron Skillet. The foods in some of Iron Skillet restaurants were disappointed me. But Iron Skillet in New York inside Petro close to williamsons, newyork makes me wanna repeat my order. I got good steak. They cooked it so perfectly just like I want not like other Iron skillet restaurants

Not great, but not bad. Wasn't expecting a 5 star meal, but the food was decent for a quick, reasonably priced eat after a casino visit. Loved that the food truly came in a skillet. Ordered off the menu, however was surprised to see a buffet. There definitely looked like a lot of options for the buffet

Fish sandwich....fries....dinner guest ate it all...liked it..

Server was not about to give you much time to review the menu...you best know what you want once drinks are brought to the table...called everyone sweetie..they got old fast...food was good..diner food..buffet looked scary...order off the menu..I'd go back.

    Too dark out.

Have ate here a quit a few times over the years. I have eaten off the menu and the buffet. Tonight was the buffet. Everything was fresh. Chicken and rice soup was very good. They had a weird item. Ribs with chocolate, tried it not really sure about it. Waitress was friendly, this is saying a lot. Being a truck stop eats they are harassed by lonely drivers all day and night. If you are looking for a place to grab food quick or just sit and take as long as you wish, this is a good spot. They will not hurry you out the door and there is lots of seats.

I still can't decide which was better: the meal, the service, or the instant diarrhea.

No roller skates serving cars, but window tray service is still available. We chose to park and walk. Grabbed a covered table just outside the open doors. Our order consisted of a few Hot Dogs seared off the grill, couple cheese bacon burgers, and yup a couple grilled cheese too irresistible to pass up. This was for 3 of us, plus a few nibbles for the pups. Beverages, a cold one (water) for the pup. Must have fountain root beer, root beer float, and a cold local brew. This was a major highlight to our trip - thanks MAC & Richardson Root Beer! Oh, did I mention three cones and a pup cup to go?

The place was busy and when a table is available, you seat yourself. Service was very friendly and attentive. Reason for 4th star. Worth stopping when in the area and will return, next trip to the outlets. Just no lemonade or turkey dinner! Private parking, large lot. Milk shakes oh my. Unique menu, with interesting toppings. Vanilla milk shake was excellent. Stay away from their lemonade. Very disappointed. Pepsi machine and tasted poorly. TURKEY DINNER WAS JUST OK. SIDE Salad came with the dinner. Very fresh. There was a small sign saying too go to the bar to order food off menu, but we were fine sitting at the Bar. It was a Monday evening. Staff/Owners were friendly and attentive. Customers where friendly. We see that Alot here in your small village of Waterloo NY. We were told they smoke there own meet for pulled pork sandwich's. Make there own Homemade mac and cheese. I did not try them yet but they make there own empandas!! Everything sounded so good. I choose a philly steak sandwich. It came loaded with meat, cheese. Onions and peppers! Hot and Savoy. Bread roll was very fresh. Meat was juicy and tender. I loved it. I choose Mac and cheese for and up charge over french fries that came with the sandwich. It was not a disappointment. Hubby choose pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and coleslaw. He raved to them on how good it was! They have a drink that is marketed with an elevating ingredients. Pre packaged cans. He said they are not over powering but 2 will get your just right. He had a special license to sell them. If you know what I mean. We heard him explaining it too other custumers about the drink and they can not mix them with alcohol! You can it home but not in the bar! They have some decent options, not many options for those with dietary restrictions though. My mom ordered the Italian Sausage Sandwich with peppers and onions, without the roll because she's GF. She didn't really enjoy her meal. My aunt ordered the Dutch Grilled Meatloaf Sandwich which she seemed to enjoy. It came with a "BBQ sauce" on the side that was dark and had a honey-like consistency. It was fairly sweet. The cashier mentioned it was made with ketchup, brown sugar, and some other ingredients. I ordered the Meatball Sub. I was expecting it to resemble an Italian meatball sub but it had a country/Mennonite touch to it. I wish it had more sauce and parmesan sprinkled on top. It was also slightly sweet which was unfamiliar. I believe my exact comments at the table were, "They tried their best, but it's not Italian."
