One of my favorite diners. The staff is always friendly and has come to remember us from our frequent visits. The decor is a bit outdated but some of the original features; such as the brick wall bar seating area add a cozy charm to the overall ambiance. The main attraction here is the food. The portions are large and the quality is high. I have been to diners where they use deli meat and you can tell, it's just not as good. At Yellow Mills they serve carved roasted turkey. It's delicious! The sandwich and mashed potatoes come smothered with gravy; the ultimate comfort meal for me. My partner ordered the fish fry with fries. It typically comes with coleslaw but they let him upgrade to a salad at no additional cost. Prices are reasonable, less than $30 pretax for our pictured entrees. read more

GREAT FOOD, BUT THEY NICKEL AND DIME YOU. If you like the ambiance of good home cooking mixed with family-friendly staff, you will love Yellow Mills Diner. The staff is kind, and accommodating of little kids. They boast a rather big menu, but have found lately they're nickel and diming customers on every little thing and cutting food portions down. In the past year, they have started charging for refills on soft drinks and coffee; something with very little overhead, and are charging upwards of $3 or $4 per cup. I love the home-cooked dishes they provide, however, when a restaurant starts nickel and diming clients over something so small, it does drive them away. read more

She literally insulted me, talked negatively about me in the third person right in front of me and chastised a server in front of everyone over something simple. Stopped in for lunch while visiting western NY. This was truly a diner experience. The wait staff was very friendly and personable. The food is exactly what you expect from the menu of a diner. We decided on an appetizer of fried mushrooms. We then feasted on turkey and dressing with mashed potatoes and gravy. Also we had the fried haddock with baked potatoe. The side salads were served with homemade dressings. Absolutely great! No desserts here today, we were just too full!! However, the ones on the menu sounded delicious. I got the Lasagna lunch special about 3/4 through found a straight 4 inch white hair. Waitress was clearing table next to me. She came over saw it apologized. She went to speak with manager. Only 10 feet from me. That person said it was just cheese. Waitress said she saw it was hair. I spoke out IT WAS HAIR! She choose not to believe neither one of us. Disappeared into kitchen. Took half off my bill. Waitress said she tried I heard whole thing. Apologized again. This is not the first time I have found something last time was a eyelash in the toast. That time was told they don't bake the bread. Did not offer to replace toast. I did not go back for 3 years. Just fix the issues. Wear hairnets in food prep. I saw the gentleman who's hair I believe it was. The employees don't seem to care, hair in oh its ok. Just Cheese. Will never go back again. read more

We stopped by here on a bit of a whim. Best decision we have ever made! We were walking out of this place ready to fall into a good coma. We all got different plates, and everyone was more than satisfied. The portions were moderate to large, but not expensive at all! The aesthetic of the place are cute. The decor and booths have a comforting feel. The tables were very small, I ate out as a pair. My brother and I. The first things we notice? FLIES. Normally I have no issue with a couple of flies, but when its the first thing I notice? Not good. The food wasn't horrible, just tasted.. like a burger. The server we had gave us attitude when one of us asked for a refill of our drink. No one does it say on the menu that the restaurant doesn't do free refills. We had no issue paying for a refill but it was the attitude the server gave us. My brother went to the bathroom, I didn't as I don't feel comfortable using unknown bathrooms, from what he said; "Fly Galore". I do not recommend this place. Also the chefs and such were so loud? We moved to Palmyra recently and have been trying to visit the local restaurants and happened upon Yellow Mills Diner for breakfast one morning. My western omelet was perfect! Do not pass this place up! This is the hidden gem of Palmyra. Yes it is a diner and has the diner look and feel (not modern or updated) however the food speaks for itself. If you are debating your order go with the freshly made, homemade sauce, Chicken Parmesan. Five stars! But everything we had: Pancakes, BLT, Mississippi Benny, everything was fresh and delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes tasted like they were picked from a garden that very morning. And this is a family owned restaurant and they take pride in the service. Our waitress was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The restaurant owner stopped by to say hello and make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The restaurant interior and exterior are clean and well maintained (if dated). Please get passed the appearance and treat yourself to some delicious, well prepared food. read more

Joint closes at 9. Arrived at 843... glanced at hours on door and debated while a staff member was outside. Go on in he said. I asked if they were sure it's so close to closing. You go right on ahead, he said. We came up from Orlando. Knew exactly what we wanted. Ordered and eating and writing this review 15 minutes after debating at the door. This is the place to go in Palmyra! We enjoyed our experience so much. The service was wonderful... The food came out quick! The owner was so kind and grateful for the tourists. He has owned this place for 20 years. He is from Greece therefore there is a great Greek/American vibe to the food. They don't have many vegetarian options. I got the Greek salad with pita bread and feta cheese. It was delicious. My husband got the BBQ pork sandwich and the BBQ sauce was great! I have driven be this place every day and it always had a lot of cars, which usually is a good sign, plus a lot of the reviews were positive, so we gave it a try. We were seated quickly and drink orders were taken. We ordered a chocolate milkshake and juice for breakfast. They only serve breakfast in the mornings, I know some people aren't big breakfast fans, so keep that in mind. I orders there Belgian waffle and my wife ordered a bagel with cream cheese. Very simple order. They cam back in good time, the begal had a hair on it and my waffle was under cooked. It didn't have that crispy outside you crave and that soft inside, disappointing. The hair was unacceptable. We promptly said something and they brought another one out. The syrup bottle was dirty on the bottom which tells me there not very clean. Over all it wasn't a horrible experience but not good enough for me to reccomend it or return. read more

I love diners and this one did not disappoint! The waitress was friendly and attentive. The coffee was hot and fresh and the reuben and fries were delicious! So often the corned beef is grizzly or tough in reubens, but not the case. There was just the right amount of saurkraut and melty cheese...mmmm. The Russian dressing was served on the side so I could have as much or as little as I wanted. The waitress even brought extra for dipping my fries. Great diner, and seeing as there are so few places to eat in the vicinity, it's definitely worth the stop. We went close to closing time. The portions were very good, and each meal was about $10 so very well priced for the size. I had the roast beef and mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and others in my party had the pork chops, fried chicken and spaghetti. All good choices. Can't say enough about the quality of the food, so good. Outstanding service.
