    baked ziti

I don't believe I have ever been to a restaurant with carpet flooring, but this place was a first? We were seated quite quickly given how packed it was during the night of Cornell's parent's weekend. There is complimentary fresh bread and salad, which were good (can't go wrong with good bread). I got the baked ziti. The ziti looked pretty good with the melted cheese on top, but the pasta itself was overcooked, and the tomato juice seemed to separate from the rest of the sauce. Needless to say, I should not have eaten the whole dish as my stomach churned for the rest of the night from the sauce. Overall, I'm not sure I would come back and especially not have the baked ziti. However, portion sizes for all of the dishes looked quite generous for the price and the menu looks pretty extensive so you will get a variety of choice here. Also be mindful that you cannot split checks.

No frills spot in Collegetown with lots of dishes on their menu! My Chicken Parm sandwich was everything I wanted and more and the fresh Greek salad on the side paired so well.

Cute friendly place on Cornell's Ithaca campus, this place serves greek and italian food. We got the aurora pizza which was okay but not that great, the shrimp fettuccine which was pretty decent, the lamb platter which was decent as well, and another pasta dish which I didn't try. The dishes came with a starter salad that reminded me of Olive Garden's salad. Overall, staff is friendly and ambience is homey so I would recommend Souvlaki, especially given the lack of other restaurants around town. The one thing is it is quite expensive! But again everything in Ithaca is like that..

Date of Visit: September 27, 2021 This was the first restaurant we ate dinner on our arrival to the Finger Lakes. Most restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays in the area. We used Yelp to help us find this one. We were the only "old" people in there among all Cornell students. That was fun as I love young people! The meal came with one of the best salads and bread sticks ever. Served in a large salad bowl to share. We ordered a lamb dish and also the Souvlaki House special with sausage, meatballs and eggplant with mozzarella and marinara sauce. The meatballs were moist and flavorful and the entire "casserole" was amazing and more than enough for two people. My husband ordered the Souvlaki plate with pieces of lamb and homemade tzatiski sauce. The lamb was actually hard to cut and chew. We put it aside and ate the pita with the tzatsiki which was amazing. We told our server at the end of the meal about the lamb. She spoke to the owner and they took it off the bill. That was so nice and meant a lot to us.

Souvlaki House is one of the best places to eat in Collegetown. Especially if you split many of their larger portions with friends, you truly get an awesome meal for a good price. When you first walk in, there is a very warm home-y feeling that many restaurants in Ithaca lack. The servers are all extremely nice and willing to help answer whatever questions you may have. The breadsticks and salad was so so good. Breadsticks were flavorful, crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The chicken parmesan and beef were also very good, nothing terribly special but still flavorful and satisfying nonetheless. I very much so enjoyed my experience here and would definitely recommend to a friend!

After putting it off for so long, I finally went and it honestly exceeded my expectations (although they were pretty low to begin with). I've heard from friends that it was really mediocre food, so I decided to order the bikteki as a classic Greek dish. Although the main dishes took a little while to come out, I thought the beef was seasoned really well. It was very much just beef patties with fries, so can't really go wrong. The salad and bread were good but nothing extraordinary. Don't know if I'll return, but glad I got to try it.

I really enjoyed the villager salad all the tomatoes were delicious. The grilled chicken was a nice combination of crispy and juicy. The Gyro was so large and also good. The falafel's could've been a little bit larger that is my biggest critique. The mozzarella sticks were also good but it's hard to mess up mozzarella sticks. Staff was friendly and nice.

The food is pretty good for the price and is in a convenient location to many students in collegetown.

Kaitlyn (apologies if the spelling is incorrect) was so fun and made sure we had a great dining experience. They had a special menu for the holiday. I ordered the Eggnog Espresso Martini and it was perfect! We ordered the lamb lollipops to start with and they were delicious. Fall off the bone and the sauce they came with really brought all the flavors together. I ordered the New York Strip and it was cooked just the way I asked. The best steak I've had in town. The other 2 entrees were also great. We let our waitress know how great the food was and sent our compliments to the chef. The chef came by the table to say hello and thank you. We didn't stay for dessert but will definitely be back to try their desserts and other items on their regular menu. 10/10 recommend!

No one was there, maybe it's just quiet on Wednesdays. I ordered a mixed meat gyro with fries and canned soda, and a piece of Galaktobureko. I took my food to go. The gyro was big, nice thinly sliced red onions, lettuce and tomatoes, perfect amount of tzatziki sauce. Pita was warm and soft; it didn't over take the wrap. The dessert was very enjoyable. I had not experienced a custard filled philo and will definitely order again. I overheard the owner cooking my order say his mom, also an owner from what I gathered, makes the desserts. The gyros were made to order and everything tasted fresh. My husband especially loved and raved about his crispy falafel gyro. Seeking a vegetarian entree for lunch, the falafel gyro really hit the spot for him. My toddlers and I enjoyed the chicken gyro. The pita bread was so warm and soft, and the tzatziki sauce was truly yummy and delightful. I don't know that I've ever had spanakopita so light and flaky before. Much of what I've had in the past was comparatively dense with a lot more feta; this had more pastry and some spinach and hardly any feta. That said, it was scrumptious and memorable. It also came with a side salad and extra tzatziki dressing. The portion size was moderate; in the future, if I had come with a bigger appetite I would order a gyro. Service was brisk, though it took a while for the spanakopita to be served (which was no matter since the wait was worth it). The fact that Greek Gyros was relatively busy on a blisteringly cold winter day with a high of 15 degrees is a testament to how good it is that people step out for its food. The restaurant was heated and clean, with nice images of Greek hanging on the walls of the restaurant. Seating was casual and there was a high chair, altogether making it a great low-key lunch spot for a family with young kids.
