Tried this place for the first time this morning. It's small, and homey looking. Our server was super sweet. She explained the menu and the specials. It was very clean. I had the Spanakopita and Greek salad. The spanakopita was different from what I'm used to, and was very good. It was rolled up like a pastry rather than a pie wedge. The salad was very fresh. My BF had the Farmers Skillet. It was a whopping amount of food. It was 3 eggs over easy, fried potatoes, onions, peppers, Ham, and country gravy poured over top. He enjoyed it very much. Unexpected charge on my lunch bill August 2025 I have been dining at Billy Homestead's for a year and a half and I truly believe that they make one of the best Reuben sandwiches in Monroe county! On my last visit yesterday, August 5th, I ordered the Reuben sanchdwich and tea for the twelfth time. I noticed that the meat had some cristle and it didn't have any sauce on it, so I asked them for some. Also, my tea came without lemon and without a straw. They came back with all three items. When I was presented with he bill, it listed the charges for the sandwich and the tea, however, I noticed a third charge for $1.50, I asked my server what it was for, and she said that the the sauce was $1.00 and the lemon slice was $0 50. When I said that I was never charged for those items in the eleven previous visits, she said that I would have to speak with owner, who removed $0.50 charge for the )lemon, but didn't remove the charge for the sauce. When I'm charged $11.95 for a Reuben sandwich and $3.50 for a Lipton tea bag, I expect it to come with sauce and some lemon. Ordered omelette and home fries. Took bite of home fries tasted so nasty garbage like that I had to spit it out into a napkin. Then noticed black hair inside eggs. Called over waitress told her I couldn't eat it. Even though I've been there multiple times and never complained. She said she'd tell management. Came back didn't offer a replacement. Never offered to take it off the check. She felt bad offered me a cup of coffee to go. I Will Never return. read more

So it's definitely super full of customers and doesn't feel Covid-safe. The tables aren't 6' apart and they have the tiniest waiting area where they cram everyone together. The food was mediocre. Also our waitress dropped my toast on the floor, blamed it on the shape of the plate, and never replaced my toast. If anyone is familiar with my post they should know that I am a pretty big man of diners. It's amazing how many we have here in Rochester and I haven't run through them all yet so this weekend I decided to try out Billy's homestead. As you can see it's on empire boulevard near Baytown plaza. Pretty cozy little spot there's only about a dozen boots and three or four tables. Menu's not very original eggs omelettes skillets they're pretty much breakfast and lunch except for Fridays. I got three eggs sausage pancakes and home fries. It's been more than I usually order I'm typically Ann eggs meat toast potato guy. But Billy's basic breakfast comes in at 8 bucks!. So I decided why not spend an extra buck and get an extra egg and the pancakes. Got the eggs scrambled cuz I wasn't getting toast they were okay little undercooked for how I like them. The sausage was a little disappointing. Seems like you're generic brown and serve. The home fries were a very big disappointment. They were just sliced potatoes grilled didn't really have a lot of flavor didn't really a lot of texture. Even the red hot couldn't really save them. Last up were the pancakes. Now personally I like my pancakes of a nice crust on them from from cooking on the grill. August 11, 2023...I tried Billy's again for breakfast in case my last bad breakfast and review was just a fluke. Today's fried eggs were delicious. The coffee was good. The Breakfast Sirloin Steak was terrible...tough, tasted bitter for some reason and was watery like it was frozen and microwaved so after one bite I stopped eating it. I did observe the kitchen staff employee who was stacking clean dishes wipe his nose with both hands and then immediately he handled the clean plates...yuck! read more

When I stop and think about how long I've been going to Billy's Homestead for breakfast, it's been around 14 years. I started going in my college years, then as a newlywed, and now I bring any of my three kids. I used to drive around 10 miles for their food years ago, and I never felt that I was settling during that long commute. So if this review seems biased, it probably is (a little). This place is small, but it's charming and clean. A table of five might be tough, and parties larger than that requires moving some tables, but they always do their best to be accommodating to larger parties. They have at least one or two TV's on with the news. I love the staff here. The waitresses are very friendly and they always try to make it easier for me when I have a kid or two with me. Extra napkins and cups with lids are no-brainers for these women. They always keep my coffee full, too. There's a strong sense of synergy amongst the servers, as they often help each other out in order to keep the customer happy. The food is generally pretty good. We're fans of the pancakes and sausage. The omelets can sometimes look a little rough, but they're always tasty. I appreciate the fact that they always have a good rotation of specials, although I don't order from that menu enough. My kids are always happy whenever we come here to eat. If you're out and about around 9 to 11 am and you drive by Billy's, keep your eyes on the door. If there's a line of people in the doorway, that's a good problem. We come here for breakfast often. The pancakes are delicious. I often have the The banana pancake, or the pumpkin pancakes. I recommend when you enter the place you stop look at the whiteboard that advertises their specials for that day. These specials are worth ordering. The customer service is excellent. There is a small parking lot in front of the store and the space does get crowded on weekdays. I found that customers get together here with their family and friends, so this place is very popular. First time visit to Billy's this morning while waiting for my vehicle Went on recommendation from the place I was having tires installed. Service and food was top notch ,menu has lots of choices, I had a corn beef hash omelet. My order arrived in about five minutes. Very tentative wait staff. The only small downside was although they take credit cards, I was not able to place the gratuity on the card. I only had one single on me and wanted to leave my waitress more. read more

Billy's was recommended to us by a family friend and we were not disappointed. We were seated immediately and a server appeared with coffee. After scrutinizing a very broad menu we ordered. I ordered the triple Play which featured three eggs, sausage & pancakes with a large order of American fried potatoes. The food was served very hot, made to order with large portions of everything. The decor is nice & airy. They seem to have a solid customer base as the wait staff knew most of the customers by name but their customer service is unacceptable. I ordered a plain scrambled egg with cheese for my daughter and nothing else. The waitress tried to charge us a full $5 for the omelette breakfast since that's how the cook made it, even though the check showed 'scrambled egg with cheese'. Back & forth I went with the hostess who couldn't make a decision for herself as she kept running back to the kitchen. Finally she charged me $2.45 for a scrambled egg plus ANOTHER $1 FOR A SLICE OF CHEESE! So, in essence, I gave up the homefries, toast, & bacon to save $1.50. That's $3.50 for a single scrambled egg with cheese, not counting the juice! A decent waitress would have seen the error and just changed it instead of trying to justify doubling the menu price because the "cook made it wrong." Sorry, Billy, the food wasn't that good. This is a diner, serving typical diner stuff, the kind of place that you get a morning breakfast fix or brunch for not too much money. The pancakes are fluffy and they make the eggs the way I ask them to make them, so that makes them a better than average diner. I visit this place when I want a morning/early afternoon fix because they are close to my house, and the prices are right. This is a classic breakfast diner in Webster that my family has been going to since I was a little girl. The food is okay (super greasy) but the staff here is incredible! The same ladies have been working here for years and they always greet us with a huge smile. I also find that they'll take the time to stop and chat even if the restaurant is super busy. When it comes to customer service I give this place 5 stars. However, I do want to note that the restaurant is really small and its a guaranteed 20minute wait every time you go. Overall, I'd recommend Billy's if you're in the Webster area and looking for a greasy breakfast. I would tell health conscious people to stay away. read more

Pretty solid, quaint diner located in penfield near the baytown plaza in a little strip mall. The waitresses are attentive and nice, as if they've known you for years. The menu is very large with something for everyone, breakfast, lunch and dinners. The interior has been recently updated and looks much better than the beat up stuff it used to have. There are a limited number of tables, so be prepared to wait sometimes. Also, they can't charge the tip on credit cards for whatever reason, so make sure to bring some cash. read more

I LOVE this place in every way but the owner needs to stop being so stubborn! He refuses to let patrons include their tip on their tab when using a credit card to pay.....ALL TIPS ARE CASH ONLY!!!!! We had the most AMAZING breakfast there last month and were very surprised when we were told we could not include a tip when paying our bill with our Visa......What???? I only had $2 in my wallet and had to make a special trip to the ATM and then go back to the restaurant with a CASH TIP (our waitress was fabulous). My wife and I were having some car work done and left the garage looking for a restaurant while the oil change was going on. We saw Billy's and turned in. We were not disappointed. There was plenty of variety on the this small diner's menu. The service was attentive and friendly and my veggie omelet was first-rate. They served cottage fries with the omelet and they were very good. What can be better than a small restaurant that feels like Mama is cooking in the kitchen? We will be back. While the food is decent for a diner type place, I won't be coming back. They have a antiquated policy of accepting credit cards but not allowing you to place a tip on the card. For those of us who don't carry cash, this is lousy when you get to the end of your meal and find this out. How unfortunate for the waitresses; they deserve better than this. I assume the owner doesn't want to pay the 3% fee for credit card processing, Why not just change the prices on your menu from 9.95 or 10.95 to 9.99 or 10.99 (etc). The extra few cents brought in on each item on all types of sales (cash included) should offset the CC fees for the tips - in turn treating the wait staff more fairly and annoying fewer customers by moronic policies. Business might even increase- I know I would have come back if it had not been for this policy...... read more

I like the atmosphere in Billy's, but unfortunately the food just isn't that great. The English muffins in the Eggs Benedict are always really soggy. The omelets are dry. There aren't any really interesting dishes. And the food is too expensive. read more
