I ordered the Bird Gang, hubby got the Cali Swag -- both were amazing. The flavors, the presentation, the whole vibe of the place... it was everything. I love this spot; and of course, I let my camera eat first -- everything looked too good not to. From the moment we walked in, it just felt right. Relaxed, welcoming, full of character. We'll definitely be back -- already thinking about our next visit.

Enchiladas

The food was great and they gave pretty hefty portions. The salsa has a kick which was such a nice surprise because Mexican restaurants out here usually don't serve spicy salsa. (I'm from SoCal so I know my stuff haha) The elote bowl was my favorite We sat at the bar and the service was so fast, it's a pretty big space and the music fit the vibe. We'll definitely be back!

Wow! The chips and salsa really hit the spot!

This place is a hidden gem! The decor is colorful. The menu was a bit daunting but our server was very helpful. We both ordered chimis. Wow! Huge! Flavorful! Presentation was wonderful! Try this place but come hungry! We will be back - often!

Red and Green Salsa, Guacamole, Queso

We are huge fans of Old Pueblo Grill downtown, so we have been anxiously awaiting its opening here in Webster for what seemed like forever. We started with salsa, guacamole, and queso with our chips. The salsas were both spectacular. Guacamole was super dreamy. The queso, however, was odd and something no one in our party enjoyed. We do love the queso downtown, which is what we were expecting but did not receive. Switching to entrees, we were very excited to see Enchiladas Montadas -- stacked enchiladas as we've eaten in southern New Mexico. We found the red sauce one to be really great. The green sauce version was very tasty, though the sauce had broken and/or seized up. Our additional companion ordered Enchiladas Suiza with green sauce. Again, the green sauce had good flavor but was not good consistency and they didn't end up finishing their meal. We are still giving the review a 4 star because this could be some bumps in a new opening. We will definitely return. We will definitely try the green sauce again, however, we will be avoiding the queso.

I went to the Victor, NY location and recall not being blown away by the food, however, I thought I'd give it a shot with full service experience. We started with chips and salsa and the birria eggrolls. As others have said, the salsas are great. The birria eggrolls were amazing. The eggroll is a great vessel for birria. Great flavor, texture, and presentation. I ordered the "Cali Swag" burrito. The overall flavor was great, however, the carne asada was a little fatty and the fries were kinda soggy but it was still an enjoyable item. My companion ordered a carnitas taco, carne asada taco, and the elote for an entree. She had the same complaints about the carne asada being fatty. But the carnitas were spectacular. Really flavorful and tender. The elote had good flavor but the corn was overcooked and lacked good texture. Service was a bit slow, but I don't blame my server for this as, as far as I can tell, she was also the primary bartender. The restaurant is a bit noisy and they played a weird mix of NBC Nightly News and World Whiffle Ball Championships but it also kinda worked so I can't knock it. This is a new place so growing pains are expected and I will certainly come back to try it again!

They had some vegetarian…read moreoptions, but they were mostly fried and cheesy options, not any with fresh vegetables like I prefer there to be. We set outside and it was nice. They are off a major road so there was a lot of traffic noise, but it was still enjoyable. Our server was fine. She was down to business, but friendly enough.

So we tried Coronas tonight because we were at the movie theater out in Webster and although the…read morereviews were a mixed bag the menu matches a place my wife is familiar with in Batavia and said they she always loved it there and would go there every day if she could. This turns out to be run by a very different group of people than the one in Batavia lol. So the woman who greeted us and sat us was also our waitress and she's probably the most miserable server I've ever had. She does not smile, she does not do anything, that could be in any way considered friendly or welcoming. She has RBF. It was truly one of the worst server experiences I've ever had. She forgot parts of the order, had to be reminded of or asked for things several times to get them, It was just bad across the board. Now the ambience of the place its pretty okay up front. It is kind of weird that there's no front desk or server station, it's just like tables and booths and then the door to the kitchen so that was kind of weird. Very colorful though! When you go back towards the bathrooms, which are in the very back of the store, all the decor is still five guys stuff. The bathrooms were disgustingly dirty and sticky... There's a buss cart parked in the hallway to the back next to a 5 gallon pail filled with stale water with sharp knives and other cutlery poking up out of it. The height of cleanliness right there! Okay so miserable employee And unhygienic restaurant with a weird setup. That's what we're starting with. On to the food! We ordered some nachos, We ordered a chicken dish which was chicken with some kind of sauce and onions and peppers. Lastly we got a side of 3 enchiladas. The three enchiladas were were fine, they came with a red sauce on them. Nothing groundbreaking but they were perfectly fine enchiladas. Unfortunately the nachos and the chicken dish could not keep this trend going. So for some reason the chicken dish came out before our appetizer... With no explanation from the most miserable waitress in the world... They came with two tortillas but no rice or beans at 18 bucks there was maybe 5 oz of chicken? There were two incredibly thin pieces of chicken breast like millimeters thin. It was horribly oversalted but it was okay besides all of that lol. Last up were the nachos which were very generous in size with a lot of ground beef and pulled chicken. There's a lot of lettuce on them but very little cheese there was some mystery watery something at the bottom of the plate they were served on, I don't know if this was supposed to be a cheese sauce of some kind or just moisture from the lettuce draining down through the chips? There was also approximately one and a half tablespoons of sour cream and 1 and 1/2 tbsp of guacamole on top with a single half slice of tomato?! The guac and sour cream proportions to the amount of nachos and meat were so far off it's not even funny. Oh I almost did forget We did get dessert as well, mainly because seeing the dessert is what prompted us to go to the restaurant so we got the fried ice cream. It comes in a fried tortilla bowl that's been tossed in cinnamon and sugar and that part was delicious. That tortilla and the ice cream is served on a plate, have you ever tried to eat a Sunday off of warm plate? Probably not cuz it's a really bad idea lol. The corn flakes used to bread the ice cream before they fried it are probably the oldest corn flakes I've ever consumed they were so far beyond stale that I I can't even imagine when they were originally purchased. The ice cream itself was incredibly hard and pretty much had to be cut with a knife which I understand you want really cold ice cream before you batter it and toss it in cornflakes and fry it but some tweaking needs to be done here.. So we get the bill for $68 and the server circled the section of suggested tips in pen which started at 18%, which is beyond laughable for the service that we got. There's a lot here that could be tweaked to make this place great. If the server had been friendly and welcoming it would have been a thousand percent better right off the go. The food also obviously need some tweaking. I can't really recommend you go to this restaurant for any reason under the current circumstances.

What an incredible experience…read more This restaurant gives meaning to the saying, "never judge a book from its cover." The reason I say that is, it's unassuming from the outside. Connected to an auto repair shop to the left and liquor store on the right. Arriving, we saw only a handful of tables that weren't cleared off from past customers. We waited by the front door not realizing you order from the window which is hidden in the corner. We were greeted by a friendly young lady and after we placed in our orders, we sat ourselves and waited for our food to arrive. The first thing to arrive was the guacamole with chips. We found the guacamole to be less chunky as we'd like, but nevertheless it was pleasant. The chips were overly salted in our opinion but did not take away from the dish. Then came the al pastor tacos. These were absolutely delicious. The pork was wonderfully marinated, and the toppings added to the entire taco rather than overpower the pork. We also opted in for the shrimp tacos, which were also quite delicious. Ordering a couple of empanadas, one steak and one al pastor, these were phenomenal. Taking a bite of each, you can identify everything inside these perfectly fried parcels. Very very good. I can confidentially say, this is the best Mexican food I've ever eaten and easily beats any of our Mexican restaurants here in Rochester. But a fair warning to future patrons. Don't expect to walk in and expect a full-service restaurant. Waiting times can be a little longer than expected as well. But the upside is receiving delicious, made-to-order food made with love and care. We'd make the trip to Sodus just to revisit this restaurant.

This is my second time trying Mama Lor's since we have moved to the area, I've been underwhelmed…read moreboth times. I have ordered two different omelettes on two different occasions now: an egg white with spinach and mushroom and a meat lovers. Both were quite overcooked and the meat lovers seemed like a thin sheet of egg that they filled with toppings later on like a crepe. Additionally the meat lovers side of rye toast was obviously burnt but still served to me, I just ate around it for a few bites and gave up. My husband ordered fish and chips the first time - I thought the batter was tasty and enjoyed it though I think the filleting of the actual fish could have been a lot cleaner. This item is the only reason my review is not a one star, I thought it tasted good. The second time he ordered clam chowder and a salad that had chicken, fruit, nuts. The salad was fine nothing wrong but not a stand out either it seemed similar to something I'd get as a salad kit from the store. The clam chowder though was awful, so thick and gelatinous it seemed like it was canned which is already a red flag but one of those canned soups that you're supposed to add water to and like they forgot to do that part. On top of being weirdly thick it was also cold you can tell they didn't heat it thoroughly whether that was in a microwave or not though I can't really tell. I truly don't understand the hype or reviews for this restaurant given we've tried multiple items and for the most part fell flat with the sole exception of the fried fish. I was disappointed given the expectation from other reviews and unfortunately we won't be back for a third try.
