Our oldest devoured a blueberry Mickey Mouse pancake, which was bountiful with the blueberries. Our youngest enjoyed a cinnamon role as big as her face. I had the Rustic Sandwich, was absolutely delicious. My mom and husband had Erica's omelette, with my mom customizing hers with bacon. They both enjoyed homemade jam on their toast. The food was absolutely outstanding and we all left with full, happy bellies. (And we all ate our food before getting pictures--that's how good it was.) The servers were so friendly and made us feel right at home; we never felt rushed, and they kept our coffee mugs full. Ray's is always a good choice, and I'm sure we'll be back the next time we're in town.

Once inside, the restaurant has a nice little cozy feel. The place was PACKED, but we must have just walked in at the right time, being seated instantly. Our waitress was over within a minute or two, and took our drink orders. And a couple minutes after that, we were able to put in our food orders. I ordered a hot delight omelette, with their homemade white toast, and a side of corned beef hash. The omelette was good not great, with a nice hint of spice from the jalapeños. The homemade toast was the star of the show with a nice crisp to it, and a nice buttery flavor. The corned beef hash was not my cup of tea. I am a corned beef hash lover, but I was not a fan of the taste and texture of it here at Patty's. The flavor was really potato forward with not much of a meat flavor to it. My wife ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits, which was the start of the show! The gravy had a nice blend of sausage and pepper flavor, while not being too forward with a cream tasting. The biscuits were so warm and fluffy. Overall we had a good time and the staff were very friendly. With my wife and I being local we definitely will be back, probably to try some different foods.

Here's a polished Yelp-style version that keeps your voice and observations:…read more I was told Char Broil on Monroe Avenue was one of the more affordable breakfast spots in town compared with places like Steve's Diner, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a make your own omelet with sausage, cheddar, and mushrooms, and at just $9.85 for a three-topping omelet, it felt like a great value. The omelet itself was tasty and well-executed. Nothing revolutionary, but it's hard to complain when the quality and price line up this well. My friend ordered the Char Broil Special, which came with a double stack of pancakes and eggs over medium. The eggs were a little runnier than expected for over medium, but fortunately my pumpernickel toast came to the rescue and soaked up the yolk perfectly. The real standout of the meal was the grilled cinnamon roll we shared at the start. It had a nice crunch on the outside, just the right amount of sweetness, and was perfect for sharing. The corned beef hash was probably the weakest part of the meal. It was a bit greasier than I would have liked, though the flavor itself was still quite good. Overall, breakfast for two, including a coffee and an iced tea, came to about $41. Believe it or not, that's more affordable than many diners these days. Solid food, fair prices, and a few highlights that will definitely bring me back.

The menu only offered the fish fry dinner but my waitress said I could get one. Great! The fish was piping hot & a nice crispy crust. It hung over the ends of the roll. The roll spoiled the sandwich. It's too soft & mushy. A nice piece of freshly fried fish like that deserved a quality bun or roll. I think something like a simple ciabatta roll would be a better vehicle to deliver a great fish sandwich that would hold up. I ordered a side of Cole slaw in place of french fries. It was decent - nothing to write home about.

The menu is traditional barbecue- simple and easy to order. Moving on to the food, the chicken tenders were solid, the fries were seasoned well. However, the brisket was dry, albeit pleasantly lean and tender. Amazingly, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone, yet overcooked and dry. I would describe the meats as wholly dependent on the sauce you decide on, as the meats themselves are poorly seasoned (if at all), and dry. I would absolutely decide to come back, except the prices are astronomical for what you get. Unbelievably overpriced for poorly-seasoned, dry, overcooked barbecue. I would recommend a menu overhaul, with additional seasoning and a rework of standards. 2/5

I live a solid dinner all day, but a diner that also is knowledgeable about gluten allergies and has gluten free bread?! Yes please!!! And this isn't a greasy spoon diner you go to at 3AM (even though I love those too) - it is delicious, simple, home cooked, heart warming food. Every dish we ate was so good. Big portions, crispy hash brown patties, gluten free toast, delicious milkshakes, and solid coffee to start the day. This diner could not do wrong in my eyes. We were seated in the middle of the crowded dining room around 1:30 that thinned out quite a bit during our brunch. Without a reservation you can't complain but we got bumped into a few times so it didn't make for a very relaxing experience. Our waitress was not very good. For the french toast she asked if I wanted a small or big stack. I didn't have glasses on or I might've noticed on the menu short=1, full=2. Using the same terminology or explaining would've been very helpful because when only one piece of toast arrived from my shorter "stack" I was very surprised. The mimosas were in small flute glasses which is way overpriced for the size. My husband's coffee was meant to have refills but we had to flag her down for that. She didn't actually bring us anything either, other wait staff brought the drinks and then the meals. The food was good, the ambience if you have the right seat is nice too. At the hostess station we overheard a phone call with someone requesting to be by the fireplace and now I see why. Will not return to this location when we're in town on a getaway this summer but might try the one in Pittsford or Penfield.
