These guys are legit. I happen to come across them from Ebay. I found out they had a retail spot so I contacted them and have been working with Johnny. Johnny knows his stuff. Worked out a great deal on SVS SB2000 Pro . Such a good deal I just bought another one. They have new and open box. The open box I got was flawless. Couldn't even tell it was open box except for the outer box. So now I got another sub coming and didn't ask the wife. Hopefully she won't notice it. read more

I purchased a Marantz AV30 preamp processor from IQ and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I previously owned a Yamaha CX-A5200 processor and the Marantz is noticeably a better unit most likely due to a more modern design and upgraded internal components. read more

Hello, Friends. I purchased an open box SVS sub from IQHE and it was a home theater junkie/discerning consumer's dream. Their inventory, competitive pricing, service, coaching by Sean, GM, and fast delivery turnaround time were all impressive. Sean is a friendly, insightful HiFi equipment master class dealer with integrity. I have elevated IQHE to the top of my home theater dealer list and I recommend them, with my confidence that your shopping experience will also be stellar. Cheers to IQHE's Greatness. read more

From Virginia to California in 1 week I chanced upon IQ Home Entertainment online and decided to make a phone call. Sean made the time and we had a spirited audio conversation. He offered me a pair of Focal Sopra 1 at a good price. I emailed him saying I'd think about it. Next day, called him on the phone. "Hey Sean, you know those red ones? Let's write them up before I change my mind." They arrived in a week. A B&W center channel speaker is arriving tomorrow. Thanks from your West Coast customer. Highly recommended, even from the other end of continent! read more

Mr. Brewer took care of me and my McIntosh purchase with ease and professionalism. All by phone and email. I recommend IQ with no reservations whatsoever. Perfect. Thanks IQ. read more

Thanks to Johnny and John for all the hardwork. We had our basement pre-wired when the house was built and finally pulled the trigger on the home entertainment setup. Johnny helped us pick speakers and design the setup. John did an excellent job with the install. Scheduling and installation was seamless. Everything came out better than we could have imagined. I will upload some photos soon and list the setup details. I would highly recomend IQ Home Entertainment. Great communication. Extremely professional. read more

IQ Home Entertainment ended up fulfilling an order that I had placed through Klipsch's website some months ago. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the order and Klipsch customer support was less than useless. After months of delays and getting transferred around to multiple departments, I ended up getting in touch directly with Sean. Despite Sean's own troubles trying to get Klipsch to correct things, he persevered and resolved my issue. The whole time we were working on this (over a month), he was always available and friendly, and never treated my concerns as a burden. Thank you so much, Sean!! Next time I need some A.V. gear, I'm definitely checking out IQ first :D read more

Can't say enough good stuff about IQ. They really make you feel like you are important. Sean really went to the next level for me and didn't stop helping me until I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. Kept in contact with me the entire time to give me updates. I would highly recommend you give Sean a chance, you'll be happy you did. read more

IQ Home Entertainment - Electronics Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

I bought a set of five Focal speakers (2 towers, center and 2 ceiling) and a Sony receiver and am very happy. All the way from my first visit to store when Ben demoed me various products, answering all my questions patiently, they made my experience pleasant. Ben also gave me huge discounts and the best possible price that nobody could beat in-spite of my research and helped me with my budget. Absolutely recommend this place. read more

I purchased a set of speakers from these guys through eBay. I noticed a flaw in the production of the speakers so I contacted I and they took immediate action to fix the situation. An associate named Ben contacted me and said he had a few options for me, and if we spoke on the phone it would probably be easier. I called Ben and he offered to return speakers, exchange them or take them back on trade for other speakers. I went to their website, selected a new set of Klipsch speakers and I am 100% happy with them and the service I received from IQ Home Entertainment and Ben in particular. Great deal, great service and fast shipping! read more

Excellent, price, extremely fast shipping, and the best service I have ever encountered from a retail store. I can count the number of reviews I have given on one hand....I guess I'll need two now haha. I bought a Yamaha receiver at a great price from Iq Home Entertainment. I must admit I was a bit leary about buying from a third party. I received the receiver the following day! A month and a half after the purchase the receiver started popping and cracking. After swapping the receiver out with my old one I determined it was faulty. To make this long story even longer.....I ended up having a new receiver on my doorstep the following day. What more can I say. Thank you Iq Home Entertainment read more

My friend had a great experience working with IQ to update his home theater and felt this was a great company deserving of a Yelp review, so I've agreed to it post about it for him on here. Scott worked with him to show him around the store, share information about some of their different receivers and speakers, and answer questions. He was also very helpful in running some demos of various speakers. The result was a new Anthem MRX 520 receiver and a pair of Paradigm Prestige 85F's to pair with an existing SVS PC-13 Ultra. They have all sounded fantastic even once set up in his living room. The matching center and surrounds are soon to follow in the near future! read more

These guys REALLY know what they're talking about. They are there to help you find the right things, not spend more $ than you're supposed to, and make you feel good about dropping several hundred dollars if not several thousand. They have everything from tiny speakers to home theater system. This is definitely the place to go if you are interested in buying ANYTHING related to sound. Even if they don't have what you're looking for, they'll probably direct you to the right place. So good to know that there are people out there who are not trying to sell you crap for too much money. read more

Great selection, friendly staff. Patiently helped me make selection of floor standing speakers. Still enjoying them months later.

Excellent experience with this company. My Klipsch speakers arrived on time and in excellent condition. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fair deal on quality products. read more

Store is messy and staff is not super knowledgeable. The store is flooded with SVS boxes and for years it had a gen1 Sonos display with products long since discontinued. Turntables are usually not working and systems are often paired and set up poorly. read more

This place is the Willy Wonka factory for your home entertainment needs. I worked with Sean, who is awesome. I purchased some Klipsch speakers and a large SVS subwoofer - had great service. When everything arrived it was perfect. Without a doubt they know their stuff - have great prices and are there to help. read more

This place is still the best for customer service. I've called several times with questions (due to my impatience with YouTube) and they've always provided accurate help. Once I save some $$ I plan to return for some speakers to go with the sound bar. Thanks, y'all! read more

These guys were extremely helpful in helping me choose speakers for my first home surround sound system. Gave me a a system that fit my budget with really good prices on all the speakers. Their prices are much lower than what you would find on Amazon or Crutchfield. My Klipsch speakers and sub are awesome. I will definitely use them for future purchases. read more

Bought a golden ear setup about 5 years ago and overall had a positive experience. Dropped by again after 5 years to look at the newer stuff, and the staff where friendly with no pressure and no attitude with demoing new speakers and giving advice.... I purchased a very nice package of McIntosh Amp and PreAmp with Olympia speakers. OMG!!! Love it! Everynight is Jazz night at home. Thanks Sean. read more

Just window shopped. The guys were very nice and demo'ed the Golden Ear Triton speakers even though I was not buying. Lots of choice. Some of the stuff is very high end. I hope they open a branch near Loudoun soon. read more

Good selection. Good prices. Excellent, timely and pleasant install. What more could you ask for?

I just visited IQ because I had a set of B&W speakers that had malfunction (they are a B&W dealer). I came on a Sunday, directly from swim lessons with the 7-month old baby, and these guys could not be nicer. The speakers, a set of CDM-9NTs, weigh about 60 lbs a piece. Rather than me having to struggle with managing the baby & stroller and unloading the speakers myself -- the nice gents at IQ went out and grabbed the speakers out of my SUV for me. The fellas then spent the next 40 minutes diagnosing the issue (which turned out to be dislodged tweeter pod) and fixing it right there. Once they were fixed -- the loaded them back up for me. When I offered to pay them for their time -- they wouldn't take my money. Keep in mind -- these speakers were hand-me-downs and they were not even purchased at IQ. James and Sean particularly were fantastic. I cannot recommend these folks enough. Next time I am in the market ... I know where I am going. Thanks you again IQ! read more

I purchased my Hi-Fi (Arcam components and Focal speakers) from IQ last year and had a very positive experience. This year after I purchased a townhome I visited IQ and picked up an LED TV, a Sub Woofer and a Receiver. I again had an extremely positive experience and when I upgrade the home theater next year, will shop with IQ. The staff knows the technology they sell very well. The prices are extremely competitive. I do my own installs so I cannot rate their installation services. I enjoy supporting this local business and look forward to doing business with them in the coming years. read more

Love this place. Been going to them since 2009. To date, I have bought 2 plasma TVs and a very nice receiver from them. I recently had a house built. I hired IQ to wire up the entire place (4 bedrooms and electronics closet) They were great to work with! Great store, great prices, very knowledgeable staff. I NEVER goto Best Buy anymore. I always goto IQ. Think of them as the Crutchfield of Fairfax! read more

Personalized service, and down-to-earth folks. General Manager Sean Brewer and his staff gave me the same attention and courtesy they would've extended to a more well-heeled customer. The sound system I wanted was a special order, and a dinky purchase by a true audiophile's standards. They didn't try to "up-sell" me on another system in stock. Their price was competitive, and they took the time to show me how to set it up. Awesome. At Amazon I had found a bookshelf sound system which got great reviews. But I preferred to use a local business for the purchase, so I could: get help with setup, avoid worrying about the shipment being stolen by my front door, and also maybe help a little bit to keep a local store afloat. Here's hoping many more customers find their way to IQ Home Entertainment for their TVs, stereos, etc. - it's a hidden treasure . (Hmmm, this review sounds like I'm a relative or friend, but I'm not!) read more

I purchased a Rega Planar 3 turntable through Amazon (gotta love gift cards!) and it happened to be fulfilled by IQ. The delivery was very quick but unfortunately, the table did not work. I called IQ and explained the issue and after some quick troubleshooting we determined it was either the power supply or the motor (just my luck, getting the one problematic TT Rega has ever made!). However, Sean at IQ went out of his way to ensure I had a new table sent to me and it arrived just a couple of days after I called. This one has no issues at all. Thanks Sean and the people at IQ for amazing customer service! read more

I can't say enough about the folks at IQ or the store in general. I recently purchased my Hi-Fi equipment from IQ (Cambridge Audio, Thorens, and Canton). Johnny was the main associate that assisted me while I was searching through and auditioning products and he was great! Even though I came to the store looking for some specific products the guys at the store were able to give me further suggestions on products that would pair well with some of my choices. Everyone is knowledgable and helpful, which is something I appreciate especially when I'm buying premium items. The store is thoroughly stocked with a large number of brands that will meet and exceed anyone's needs. Whether you're looking for a TV or want that McIntosh turntable this is the place to go. Their pricing isn't terribly inflated as I've seen with some brick and mortar AV stores. Also, the one product that I wanted that wasn't in the store was ordered and arrived in under 3 days. I'll never hesitate to head back to IQ when I have an AV need. read more

If you are in the market for home theater/stereo products, this is the place to go. If you are looking for Goldenear Technology speakers, in particular, this is the place to go. They have the complete line. They open and inspect every piece that goes out, so that when you get it home, you know that it is all there, and as it should be. I bought GE Triton Sevens for fronts; GE Supercenter XL for center; GE Aon2s for surrounds; and 4 GE Supersat 3s for Atmos. See Johnny and he will get you what you need and at the best price. Service by Johnny (and James) was first class. As a matter of fact, that should the title, First Class Act. Shop here and you will not regret it. They cover even higher-end electronics. They have my complete trust. read more

When Myer-Emco went out of business in early 2009 (and Tweeter closed a year or two before that), I was looking for a home electronics place where I could buy new speakers and maybe a home theatre receiver and TV. Of course I was aware I could buy these items online, but selecting speakers is a matter of personal preference, so how could I do that online? Best Buy, or a similar big box electronics place was not an option, since staff members are, in general, complete morons. So, when I found out about IQ Home Entertainment, I wanted to drive out to Fairfax to check it out. Turns out, the owners are former Myer-Emco folks, so I knew the advice and customer service would be good. Long story, short, after two trips, I bought a full set of speakers and a 60" LED LCD TV. I initially also bought a home theater receiver, but I returned it after I found another model online with very similar features and a lower price. I'm taking one star off my review because my salesman (Nick) knew about this receiver, but recommended the more expensive one (the cheaper one was last year's model). When we compared the two, they were virtually identical, so I returned mine and bought the less expensive one from Crutchfield since it was now out of stock at IQ. I understand he was trying to make a bigger sale and therefore a better commission, but it made me trust him less. It was kind of a short-sighted sales move. However, their prices there are very good and they'll price match Amazon. So, if you need good quality A/V equipment, go check 'em out. read more

I was searching for a pair of GoldenEar Triton speakers. I contacted IQ, and discussed the purchase with Ben. He gave me a fantastic price on a new pair of the Triton 3+, and he shipped them the same day. I was amazed that FedEx got them to my house in Lexington KY, undamaged, in only two days! If I'm ever in Alexandria, I'll try to stop by their store and thank Ben in person. read more

Highly recommend Craig and the whole staff at IQ. Craig was knowledgeable, easy going, and is clearly a home theater enthusiast. He also debunked a few myths that you would hear at the big box stores designed to make you overspend on equipment. Had a great experience and highly recommend IQ. read more

Purchased yet another TV from IQ. Great service, knowledgeable staff and pricing comparable with online shopping. Nice to buy local and get the support you need instead of waiting on Amazon support to answer an email...... read more

Super Staff, great products. I have bought a few times from them, and plan on more in the future!

Place is a joke!!! The staff knows their stuff, but the EQ looks beat or "demo" I bought a receiver there and it look like it was a part of someones previous system. It had feet marks from where a cable box or DVD player was sitting on top if the receiver. I just get a shady used car salesperson feeling from the place read more
