A few months later, the light came on and I made an appointment. It's difficult to get an appointment quickly but I didn't need one right away so it worked out. I think he was scheduling a couple weeks out. The day of, I dropped my car off around 9am and came to pick it up around 4pm. Plan to leave your car as there isn't really a waiting area. If you walk about 10-15min you can find a coffee shop. It's also on a bus line if you want to take transit somewhere. Tony is very friendly. The oil change was reasonably priced at $88 before taxes. I also asked them to check one tire that was deflating faster than the others. After taking a look, they told me I did not need a rotation, and that the deflating tire was fine. I went elsewhere and it turns out Matt's got my tread measurements wrong, and I was definitely overdue for a rotation. They also did not notice a gash in my tire. And they did not reset my car system reminder for the oil change.

What? Why not? Won't you honor your own prices? Nope, he said. So I drove off and went to Jiffy Lube, where they had a Pennzoil Platinum oil change for $85.99. It was not the price so much at Grease Monkey as it was the technicians attitude, like he was pissed that I would even ask. That's a bad way to treat ANY customer. I will admit that I have not seen a $30 oil change advertised anywhere lately, but that's not what I needed. I figured $50 was fair for a synthetic blend, but it is too low compared to the advertised prices, which seem to be wrong. Like I said, attitude is everything, even more than the cost. The inspection was fast and reasonably priced and revealed four fixes for an equally reasonable price, and that they understood my intent was to keep my 2008 Nissan Rogue going for as long as I could. I was able to get an appointment fairly soon after I agreed to the fixes. They also gave me a discount after I posted a review of the initial experience with the inspection.
