They are super friendly here and surprisingly very honest!!! I always come in when there are no lines and they get my oil change pretty quickly. Otherwise, when there are lines, it's so hard to tell how long you have to wait. I only wish there was a more fair way to wait in line...if you pick the wrong lane, you may end up waiting longer than a car that picked a quicker one read more

After checking reviews, I brought my daughter, a college student, here to get new tires and her brake pads replaced a couple of years ago. Her brakes started squeaking immediately after and, fearing for her safety, we/she kept taking her car back to them and they would check and say that the breaks were fine, just noisy. She went to another mechanic closer to her home a couple of months ago and asked them to check them. The breaks weren't fine at all; the pads were dangerously thin and the mechanic said that there was no way that Grease Monkey had properly replaced the pads given her milage. The brakes haven't squeaked once and are working so much better now. It's too late to take any action, but be aware that multiple mechanics at this location were seemingly OK with taking my money and letting a student drive around with bad breaks. After removing the wheel, the top caliper bolt was missing causing the caliper to rub against the wheel. The bottom caliper bolt was loose also. Checked the driver side bolts and they were tightened fine. Very fortunate this wasn't a disaster. I let the manager at this location know; they were apologetic and refunded my original service cost. This was a my go-to shop for oil changes and such and I always gave it 5 star reviews. I noticed that my car was leaking something and stopped in today to get the oil changed. Smooth check-in process, was checked in quickly, by a very polite gentleman. He went through my options and prices were very fair (check their app for coupons-a couple of different discounts were listed). The waiting room was spotless, with plenty to read, TV and several free drink options (water, pop etc). I was only waiting a few minutes when another gentleman came in to talk to me. Sadly, my car has a major leak that changing the oil won't fix and they felt was a safety issue. So, next up-an appointment with my mechanic. I appreciate their kindness and honesty. It would have been very easy for them just to change the oil, collect $$, and send me on my way. I would have never known there was a bigger issue until I had a problem. I have been a loyal customer of Grease Monkey in Seattle for years, but my recent experiences have left me extremely uneasy. There is an employee who appears to be under the influence of serious substances while at work. I suspect it's Fentanyl based on the behavior and epidemic we have in the community. I have personally observed him sitting dazed and even falling over at times. This behavior not only undermines trust in the quality of service being performed on vehicles, but it also raises real concerns about workplace safety for both staff and customers. Vehicle maintenance requires focus, precision, and accountability, and unfortunately, I no longer feel confident that my car is being serviced safely or reliably here. I have expressed this to others there yet the employee continues to be allowed to work on vehicles while visibly under the influence. Until this issue is addressed, I cannot in good conscience recommend Grease Monkey to others. read more

I took my son's car for an oil change. I was greeted with friendly and informative customer service. Two people worked with me during the visit, each equally as knowledgeable and friendly as the next. Right away I felt at ease about the facility. They explained the services they offer and the pricing. The rep explained the inspection they did. They had topped off my coolant at no charge. They explained the recommended services based on mileage for my car, none of which were due! There was no upselling. He said if my car shakes while at stoplights or hesitates when I press on the gas that it could be my fuel injector. I said, yes, that's exactly what the car is doing, can you service this? They said yes and the price was reasonable! The car is now running so smoothly. I feel great knowing my son's car is in great shape thanks to the guys at Grease Monkey! The owner attempted to contact me to follow up, but there's nothing to follow up on. Fact is, your name, address, phone number and license plate is on a clipboard list being passed from vehicle to vehicle, left unattended until they come back to retrieve it. You simply cannot allow that in this day and age. Stop. Find a different way. **More disturbingly, my vehicle indicated I was out of oil within 5 weeks of service.** It has never had oil consumption go quickly. My last oil service lasted me more than 6 months, with only 1 quart needed to top it off. I simply don't drive that much. Yet, less than 500 miles, and it's empty now. Additionally, now the automatic oil level sensing feature in my car's computer no longer tells me my level, so I've had to order a dipstick to even see what the level is now. Coincidence? Maybe, but I shouldn't be losing oil this quickly. There are no signs of leakage - I park the car every day for long periods, not oil leaks seen. This place is OUTSTANDING. Yes, I just said a speedy oil change place is outstanding, so hear me out. You know the other locations that make you stand in their cold windy bays, having information rattled at you and being upsold at every corner on car repairs you know nothing about? Or taking your car to an actual mechanic, which is more comfortable but usually requires you leave the car there all day so they can fit it in between repairs at their convenience. Well this Grease Monkey location in particular (I have been to others that aren't this great) is here to finally make getting an oil change quick and pleasant. First of all, they go over all of what you need at your car window before you get out - no windy bay visits required. They are not pushy at all - if you don't feel like getting the super premium whatever today, they just say ok and write it down. Boom! Their waiting room has a clean bathroom and a mini fridge with water, Gatorade, and sodas. Such a nice touch! I often go for a little walk while I'm waiting - not because they take a long time, because they're always done in 20 minutes when I do wait - but just so I can multitask on errands. When I return, they've moved my car to a safe parking spot and often accompany me so they can open my door for me. Open my door! I mean, the courtesy is top notch. When you're being checked out, they go over recommended repairs but with absolutely zero pressure. It's very much a "just so you know/can plan for when you want to" situation. I have spent years arguing with oil change places, having them point to charts of when things should be done and my mileage, acting like only an idiot wouldn't follow their chart to the letter. These guys, when asked, are so honest about how urgent they think it is. Oh! They've also never tried to sell me on an air filter I didn't need. I swear other places keep dirty ones handy to show to you and make you think you need their $80 filter. I was being told I needed one constantly. I've started ordering mine on Amazon for $20 apiece and doing it myself, and this Grease Monkey always says they checked my filters and they look great. Because they do! Today when I got back in my freshly vacuumed car, I had a little Grease Monkey trash baggie and two Jolly Ranchers sitting on my passenger seat. I went in yesterday to see if they could run some trouble codes and the older white man mechanic reluctantly said he could and then only gave me one of the three codes when I asked for them all. He only listened when my brother-in-law on the phone repeated the same thing I asked. I sent my daughter there this year for a brake job. she paid nearly $900. since the her fronts had to be done in June and her rear brakes in November. we have spent an additional $1,000. she has put 9k miles on the car. after talking with the mechanics who did the most recent repair work my conclusion is that grease monkey ripped her off. there is no question in my mind her job was or done correctly. I have been a customer of this location since I moved to this neighborhood 18 months ago. I was two blocks away with a flat. I had a screw in my tire. I have had a patch done at this location before. I pulled in to get help and they told me the guy who could help wasn't in. Then they said because I drove on it, they wouldn't help. I asked if someone could help me at least get the spare on since I was SOL, they said no. I suppose they didn't owe me service, but they do employ the type of men who stand and watch a woman struggle to change her own tire in the rain. They change my oil 24 hours ago now I've got two leaks coming from the bottom of my vehicle. Found out the overcharged the credit card on top of the leak. I did talk to them. They have been making it right. They cleaned up the oil spill on my parking garage. Also cleaned up some oil spills which were there before this incident from other vehicles in my apartment complex. Offered to pay for the expense cleaning my car which I opted out of because it's quite the hassle for me driving for work. I was greeted by the manager and referred to Kevin for brake pads replacement and an oil change. I liked that it was first come, first served and my whole visit took just a little over an hour when I came in shortly after opening. Came for an oil change on a snowy afternoon, was quoted a 1.5hr wait, then advised to show up at 8am when they open to avoid a long wait. The phone number doesn't work, so I followed their in-person advice. At 8am the next day, I was promptly at the Ravenna location when they opened. My oil was changed and 16-point inspection completed within 30min without upcharges or delays. Great customer service, super friendly staff, extremely helpful and patient with all my questions. Did NOT actually perform oil change but claimed that they had. If i hadnt gone to a 2nd place, their incompetence could have destroyed my engine. Last month paid ~120 for oil change and asked them to check tire pressure. When I got into car, tire pressure light was still on. I asked them, they said sometime it takes time for it to turn off but that they definitely checked it and tires were all good Got home, had my boyfriend check tire pressure, and one tire was way off. Annoying but not end of the world. But then i wondered if they didnt tell the truth about that, what about my oil? Today went to a different car place- they said my oil was old and low. I've been going to this location for years and always had a good experience. The staff are consistent, friendly, helpful and do a great job in a short amount of time. They do a good business and always hustle. In my opinion they are far better than Jiffy Lube, etc. I like the complimentary litter bags and candy they leave in my vehicle and the complimentary refreshments while I wait. I recently purchase a used car that had an oil change and new filter installed. The oil level light went on, so I took here to see if it was a sensor issue. It seemed the oil level was a bit low, so they topped it off and explained that the garage that did the initial work most likely didn't start the vehicle to allow the oil to lubricate the new filter, thus causing the low oil. I called before hand to get a service cost estimate and they were quick to give a knowledgeable answer. Not with this place. When I arrived, I was a little confused on which end to enter - someone came out quickly to direct me. When I parked, someone opened my door and explained the different services. The gentlemen had a sense of humor to say it's take 2 days to change my oil when I asked how long it'd take. I was expecting a couple hours, but it was just 40 minutes. Not bad. Came into their waiting room and I felt cozy. There was free donuts and drinks. Before they gave service to my car, a man came in to inform me the services they were doing and the results of my car inspection. Showed me my filters. When they finished, they went over the costs and even provided me a student discount! I didn't even pull out my card, they saw the edge of it in my wallet. Went to leave with my car and another person opened the door for me. My windshield was very dirty and they wiped it down for me, vacuumed my car for free.
