Rhianna is the worst bartender ever. TOTAL MOOD KILLER I have visited Industry many times in the past and have always genuinely loved the food and atmosphere. Because of those many beautiful and positive experiences, it was important to share feedback about my visit on Sunday, February 15th, around 4-5 PM. The restaurant was very busy, and since there were no open tables available, my boyfriend and I chose to sit at the bar to order. Our bartender was Rhianna. While I completely understand that it was a busy, loud evening, the attitude I encountered from her was extremely disappointing. She raised her voice at me, rolled her eyes, and displayed what felt like a very cold and dismissive attitude. I am always respectful and kind to service providers ALWAYS, so this interaction was both surprising and very upsetting. What made me most uncomfortable about the interaction with her was that it wasn't my boyfriend AND me experiencing this treatment from her; it was only me. The attitude and cold demeanor were directed solely at me, and I know this because she was respectful and attentive to my boyfriend the whole time we were there. She would directly give him eye contact when speaking to him, but would stare at the POS when she knew I was trying to get her attention to order another drink. Additionally, when my boyfriend asked if there were any Mexican beers available, she said they had Michelob Ultra, which is not a Mexican beer. While this may seem minor, it contributed to the overall impression of inexperience and unprofessionalism. As an employee who serves people, she should exemplify kind, courteous behavior toward ALL customers, not just their boyfriends. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to ensure all guests feel welcome and respected, even during busy shifts. Meh. Gourmet style burger. Drippy with liquid not juice. Didn't pic well. Tomatoes and lettus's was fast burger style so didn't work. They need to work on this, and price was steep for it. And the last pet peeve, no fry's. Bun also not toasted so it cooled off the already cold toppings. While burger was cooked to temp, cold. So cold I got frostbite. I had a team dinner with over 10 people in my group at Industry. One pro of this place is that it can accommodate large groups, since it has a fairly large indoor seating area and outdoor seating. We were seated outdoors. The food here was alright. We ordered some chips and salsa and pork belly bites as appetizers. The chips and salsa were good, and the pork belly bites had nice flavor but texture was tough. In terms of tacos, the portions were quite small, especially for the Chicken Tinga Tacos. Multiple people ordered this, and the portion size was consistently small for all of them. The tacos themselves were alright - not bad but nothing astonishing. The brisket tacos seems a lot more packed portion-wise and was definitely the better of the two. I also got a Keyed Up cocktail, which wasn't too bad. It came with a side of graham cracker crumbs, but to be honest, it did not really add anything to the drink. Service felt a bit jumbled. There was some hiccups with orders and certain items missing from orders. The food was good, but not outstanding. This is a great place to do some work in the day or relax with friends at night. The service was excellent, everyone was so nice. There is free WiFi for guests, occasional live music, board games, table tennis, and comfortable seating. One unique thing about Industry is that they automatically charge 20% gratuity to support their staff. If you are able to tip that, it's great, however my chicken sandwich totaled at $17, without a drink or sides. If I were to come again, it would be for the bar, not for the food. TIPPING SCAM: At Industry on E 5th in Austin, when you order your food and pay at the counter, a sticker on their computer screen says "tipping blocked" or such, and you pay with a card, they don't even show you the total, and you don't have to sign the screen or anything at all. But then when you get the receipt you can see there is a mandatory 20% fee for "Real Wage Guarantee", ie a 20% tip that you were not told about and did not have the option of declining. Nothing tells you there will be a tip included. That is not right. read more

I came here for my bacholorette because they accomadate big groups which I love! Everyone was really nice and our food came out fast and fresh! If you think Industry is just another sports bar serving typical American fare, you'd be mistaken. While they do have a full bar, a bunch of TVs, a ping pong table and corn hole, their food is what takes it to another level. Talking to the managers, they told us that they brought in a new chef 8 months ago and that's why their food game has taken off. We ordered the Industry Burger, which they make the patty in house, the Beef Cakes (pancakes topped with their smoked brisket, bacon and berry compote), and the brussel sprouts. Needless to say we were not disappointed. Add to that their specialty cocktails, (industry Old Fashioned with their in-house brisket fat washed rye) and the award winning Bloody Mary, you can't go wrong. Really cool, casual & hip spot. We went last sunday for brunch. They had bottomless mimosas but I got the oax mex & bloody mary. Bloody marry was pretty good.. nothing special. The oax mex (mezcal cocoa drink) was SO yum. We got the industry bowl, the bob, brussel sprouts & bread pudding french toast. The food was pretty good. My favorite out of all that was Brussel sprouts lol. I'm a regular here and I always have a perfect wing experience. It's always consistent and the best wings in Austin.

The ambiance was nice, with plenty of seating and even a ping pong table, which added a fun touch. It's a great spot to hang out, but unfortunately, the food didn't match the vibe. The blackened catfish was a major disappointment--overly salty and charred, with partially uncooked rice underneath. The flavors just didn't come together, and it was tough to enjoy. Hopefully, they can work on getting the balance right in the future. One thing that surprised us was the mandatory 20% service charge. You order off a QR code on your table, so the extra service fee didn't make much sense. On top of that, they ask if you'd like to leave an additional tip after already adding the 20%. read more

Here in Austin for a mama's weekend and we needed some late night food. Industry hit the spot in all areas: food, seating, environment, and most of all, the SERVICE! High five and props to Andréas, Seth, and Cass - THEY ARE AMAZING!! All of them truly went out of their way to make sure we had the best food, suggested dishes, and actually, engaged in pleasant conversations with us! I arrived back in Austin after a week in FL around 9:45 pm on Monday night. I was looking for a late night place to chill and grab a bite. Industry's website says they will serve food even if you arrive one minute before closing. I don't know how true that actually is because we were there a little after 10pm. They have a reverse HH from 10:30 to close. We ordered the house margarita which was pretty good. I mentioned that my specialty drink was an Old Fashioned. The bartender told me how he would make it and made one for me. He improvised because he didn't have all of the ingredients readily available. Good drink nonetheless. We started with the Green Chile Queso and Crispy Brussel Sprouts. My friend who picked me up at the airport (nice friend) had the Industry Bowl and I had the Industry Burger. The bowl was an interesting mix of greens, kale and veggies. My burger was a little bit dry...pretty much well done. Maybe I should have stipulated medium rare. The dill pickle mayo and bacon onion jam helped it to slide down my gullet. Service was great! The kitchen might have closed a few minutes early. It was a very slow night after all. Tried Industry with a friend before a concert at Scoot Inn. The girls at the counter were helpful with suggestions. We ended up trying the brisket tacos and the beef & cheese burger for food, and a margarita and the Pool Floaty for drinks. My friend really liked her tacos and I scarfed my burger down. I love burgers with pimento cheese and this one had a nice spicy kick to it from the jalapeños. She said the margarita was just ok, but the Pool Floaty was really delicious and refreshing. The vibe was very nice and laid back and there was good music playing. I would stop by again if I'm in the area. read more

My boyfriend and I ate at Industry tonight for the first time, and I have to assume the existing reviews for this business are fake. The food ranged from "okay" to "huh, that's kinda weird", but the service was incredibly rough, most of the staff couldn't care less, and they completely fucked up the dessert. We went for restaurant week and spent $100 between us, including tip. Across our three "courses", we ordered: Mine: Garlic rice & beans Veggie sando Brownie a la mode His: Poblanos Smoked cauliflower tacos Banana pudding Plus two margaritas. They were busy, but not terribly so - there were still open tables, and no line to order food or anything like that. We walked right up to the counter and ordered, then sat down. It took 10-15 minutes to receive food. They brought only the poblanos and my veggie sando. The waiter asked if we had more coming, and we said yes. He took our number anyway, and said he'd take it and bring us the rest of our food. He left with the number. After a few minutes, it was clear the food wasn't coming soon. Uhh alright, I guess I'll eat my entree while my boyfriend eats some peppers? Also, who takes the number when there's still food coming? It took over 20 more minutes to receive more food: the cauliflower tacos and banana pudding. A few min. later, the rice & beans came out. Then the brownie. The brownie was what broke me. I'm sorry y'all, but my boyfriend and I rarely eat out and this was a visit we decided on two weeks earlier when the restaurant week menus came out. I was *so* looking forward to this meal, it had been a long week, and we were excited to have an easy and tasty meal to relax with - and to top it off - my favorite dessert, a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream melting into it. But the brownie came out *ice cold*, like it'd been in the fridge or freezer. The brownie was colder than the ice cream that was on top of it, and was completely hard. I had to go look at the menu, thinking I'd misunderstood, but no, it literally says "a warm chocolate brownie". It also says covered in caramel and pecans, and neither of those were present. The ice cream was also poor quality, like Blue Bunny type of vanilla. I don't expect gourmet ice cream here, but I don't go out to eat to purchase the same shit I could prepare at home with national brands I could just buy at HEB. They did not give a single fuck, which is kind of insane when it's the lowest effort dish - they'd literally just have to microwave the brownie. We left it on the table and left, and went to Zed's instead. It was delicious. Also: -The guy who delivered our first dishes and took the number did not seem sober. He was who was working cash when we were leaving, and I didn't want to even try to have that conversation about the shitty meal - he didn't strike us as someone who'd have cared. -As far as taste goes: the sandwich, poblanos, and rice/beans were decent (not great or memorable, but perfectly edible), but the cauliflower tacos were weird - the cauliflower was weirdly dry and seemed undercooked, and had an overwhelming cinnamon flavor. The margaritas were fine, though I am only now realizing I never got a buzz or anything like that. Maybe my fury over the brownie I'd looked forward to for two weeks killed my buzz, but it may have also been a weak drink. I'm a lightweight and have never had a margarita that didn't get me a little silly. read more

The service was slow, but understanding with our party size. I had a screwdriver for a drink & omg the fresh orange juice hit the spot. The food was pretty good, but not great. I ordered the Hueves Rancheros & had no complaints. Other people in the group mentioned their food was dry, particularly the biscuits. The restaurant is located in a popular location so there are a lot of running groups on the weekend. Overall, I thought it was a good experience, especially considering our size. Went to a late night dinner with a friend since we were bar hopping around east 6th- which I appreciate that this place serves food later than most restaurants. You walk in, it's an open seating and you order food at the counter. The lady was really helpful and giving us recommendations. I ordered the cauliflower tacos and queso with brisket. My friend ordered the brisket tacos. I like that 3 tacos are served for that price but dang, they lacked flavor. The tortillas came straight from a bag and the friend cauliflower itself had no flavor. I had to dip it in the queso. The manager had came around asking how our food was and I was honest. He kindly took off 50% our meal and gave me a free drink. So he made it right in that moment. I should've went with my gut and ordered the burger but on a positive note, the queso for being no vegan was bomb! I was snacking on that the entire time. This place is a great spot if you have large parties or want a quick bite before you head downtown. I would recommend for ease and location, but probably won't be back. read more

My boyfriend and I showed up HUNGRY. Alec recommended the nachos, said they would fill us up (which we didn't believe) and told us that chicken was a must add. Not only was he right but we were blown away by the quality of the food and service. You could tell that the chicken was smoked in house, absolutely incredible. We shared the nachos and both got full! The staff was so so friendly, Alec and madden took great care of us. The frose was dangerously good. As for the prices.... I can't believe with this location and ambience, Industry is able to provide great food with the most affordable pricing on the east side. I feel wrong calling this a hidden gem because it's in such a high traffic area but it's definitely a gem that we will now be regulars at! read more

They gave our reservation away to another group with the "same name" so we had to wait to be seated. Food service was slow and once we did finally receive our food it was cold/warm, not hot as if it was waiting to be brought out by their staff. Place seems unorganized with waiters/waitresses looking lost trying to bring food out to the tables. Took 30 minutes to have our drinks brought to us and an hour for the food. I guess they were having a social media event going on that was much more important than their customers . They were only focused on taking pictures and videos. I entered to inquire about seating and could not find any employees to help me (they were being filmed serving food from the window and looked at me and ignored me). Just before giving up and leaving, a nice person behind the bar came out and helped me out finally. Took a long while for anyone to offer any type of drink when I was at the table. This place is a great neighborhood hang out and grub spot. My wife and I live at Residences at Saltillo and drop by Industry from time to time. Andres is super friendly and makes sure you're taken care of. The food itself is very solid (get the blackened catfish, trust me), prices are reasonable, and there's usually enough for leftovers.
