Wow! We had an amazing lunch in this cool spot. Great menu - lots of unique items, it was hard to decide, and looks like they change often. My husband and I split a salad and sandwich, but not your average salad/sandwich. We got the the Caesar Salad, loaded w/ garlic, lemon, parmesan and homemade croutons - it was huge, delicious, and super popular - almost everyone in the restaurant seemed to be ordering it (just $14). Then we had the Shady's Crispy Fish Sammie, topped w/ local lettuce, tomato and a delicious homemade tarter sauce-like remoulade ($20). SO good! Our daughter got the Miso Cod over spinach with almost an entire sliced avocado on top - she loved it ($18), each got a glass o glass of the Keana wine on tap - great bargain at $10/glass. Went back the next night, and got the fennel sausage pizza, cooked in their brick oven, which was amazing! Also tried the mussels and frites. Didn't love the mussels, but the fries were great. So many other items looked great, too, Salmon carpaccio, beet hummus, smoked duck salad, porchetta, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts. I'm taking two stars off because I watched them make salads and sandwiches with bare hands. The box of gloves was there and the guy making food didn't wear one as he put all ingredients in the sandwich's and salads. So a little gross! That said the food tasted amazing. Stopped by again on my way to Santa Barbara and tried the chicken pesto pizza, which was excellent! The crust was amazing, and the flavors were well-balanced. However, the pork noodles were another story--they were incredibly salty and basically inedible. Although she mentioned there was salt at the bottom, the entire dish was overly salty, except for the pork itself, which was cooked perfectly. I hope they can adjust the seasoning because, as it stands, it's not a good option for anyone watching their salt intake, especially those with blood pressure issues. read more

We got Industrial Eats to-go for lunch while wine tasting down the road. It was so good and exactly what we needed. We each got a pizza. One of my friends got the Squash Blossom, Zucchini, Cherry Tomato, Burrata pizza, another got the Potato, Sage, Goat Cheese, Garlic, Parmesan pizza, and I got the Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil pizza. Mine was so classic, but so good. It had really good flavors that are classic for a reason. Totally exactly what I wanted and went so well with our wines. My friends both loved theirs as well. All three of us ate our whole pizzas. It was also great that the tasting rooms nearby let us bring in the food, and it was just a short walk away. read more

Love love loved my smoked duck salad that I had here. One of the best salads I've had in my life. The ingredients were so fresh and the price was reasonable. $18 for a salad that includes smoked duck, figs, apples, marinated red bell peppers?! Yes please. My husband got the fennel sausage pizza. I loved their crust because I love things that are extra crunchy and this was exactly that. We will definitely be back the next time we are passing through Buellton. What in the Industrial Eats has happened?! I have loved and raved about this place for so long. I would even say , 'one of my favorite places to eat in California' - but when I went recently that sadly changed. Imagine if your favorite rom-com like , When Harry Met Sally , was suddenly a Hallmark movie - you'd be disappointed! Upon ordering the woman at the counter could care less what we had to order - was it because there was a long line? No , we were the only ones there. So we asked about oysters - a staple at Industrial Eats- none. They stopped ordering them we were told. Ok, ok no problem let's order the fennel salad, grilled cheese and soup and miso cod. My friend and I are big foodies so we wanted to start with that and add more if we wanted to. The salad came , but to our surprise an addition was in the salad, arugula. That wasn't on the menu. It was a weird addition and over dressed. Ok ok so let's see about the soup and grilled cheese that came out about 20 mins later. As we watched dish after dish come out to a group who ordered after us we were thinking this is 'hanger' - we are hangery but also why is it that our food is coming after? Let's see how this goes. Oh my gosh! The soup came out in a water glass! And the grilled cheese wasn't warm. It had clearly been forgotten and left out. It was gross - and again the soup in a water glass?! So we asked for a bowl. They gave us what they had as a bowl , but no matter what the soup came in it still wasn't good. Now, the miso cod , let's see how this goes... it did not go well. The cod was burnt. Like so burnt and it was swimming in sauce and nothing else was cooked. It was such a bummer. We didn't even eat it. So for a meal that cost nearly $70 dollars it felt like a disappointment on money not well spent, a meal that was so gross , cold and a place I loved for so long. It didn't ruin our road trip but now I know I won't be going back. And that is a bummer. I will say, they seemed under staffed and maybe that affected the evening. My first few meals in SYZ weren't that great so I was semi-looking forward to try Industrial Eats. Located in a side street off the main road, Industrial Eats had a warehouse, laid back vibe to it. I tempered my expectations a little because of those not-so-great restaurants I tried. So it was such a pleasant surprise to discover that this place is one helluva dining option. The apple fennel salad I ordered not only looked great on the plate, but also tasted great. I don't eat fennel a lot but it was tasty; the carrot purée was very unique and flavorful. I'm unsure what they did to those carrots but WOW! My hubby had the porchetta with kimchi-flavored sesame noodles and he said it was delicious. The porchetta was crunchy, salty, and succulent. One of the best ones he's had in the US. Overall, this place is a 5. You get value for the money, friendly service, and very tasty dishes. read more

The perfect balance: laid back warehouse vibes with high quality curated foods. The menu is written on brown butcher paper behind the counter with specials on clipboards near the register. They have a list of pizzas, not pizzas and sandwiches. We dipped into each menu for a tasty dinner. We ordered the red pizza that had tomatoes and garlic baked on top (no cheese). The pizzas are fired up in the pizza oven to the left and the crust is perfect. We enjoyed the little gem salad. Whatever oil blend was covering the leaves were so delicious! Simple, but tasty! Last, I got the beef tongue pastrami reuben. The meat was so thinly sliced and tender. No bad pieces. It was melt in your mouth delicious. While I would give their food 4 stars. I would give the register lady a 3 because she didn't advocate for me. I was first in line, my first time here and they have a huge selection. I let the guys behind me go and by the time he finished ordering I knew what I wanted, but the register lady made me go back in line and I mean there were about a good 10 people in line. read more

We were down in Santa Ynez for a few days and were excited about some of the restaurants we were planning to hop in Solvang. However, when it's cold and raining, the last thing you want to do is drive to a busy tourist spot where parking is bound to be a pain. So my husband said I wish there was place close by where everything tasted great and had variety. Trusting my Yelp app we found Industrial Eats. First things first, the place gets super crowded regardless of what time you go there. Lines are long however as someone told us while we were in line "it's worth the wait". So that's what we did, we waited once for dinner and the next day for lunch. Yep, it's that good and worth the wait! Here's what we ordered for lunch and dinner: Caesar salad: 4/5 Duck Citrus Salad: 5/5 this was delish! I could eat it every day Cassoulet: for a cold rainy day in Solvang this cassoulet was perfect! It had duck confit, generous portions of pork belly, Italian meatballs and beans. The creamy consistency was heart warming, flavorful and just so so good! Cheese Pizza: the crush was thin and our daughter really enjoyed the pizza Grilled Cheese with Chanterelles mushroom soup: the soup comes in a water glass which is so fun! You can sip it, drink it or use a spoon. The sandwich was pretty good too but I felt it was a bit pricey for the portions. Overall highly recommend this place! read more

Got two recommendations for IEats and checked out their Yelp for ideas. Wow, so many mixed reviews. Some love, many do not. The place had a cool rustic, very open space. Two XL communal high tops seat a dozen. 3 or 4 smaller low boys. We lunched on a Monday, busy but not packed, good energy. We ordered a Banh mi to share. $17. it took a while to get, but looks like pork cutlet is fresh to order. Sammy looked incredible: well charred bread/roll, piled high with veg, good size portion. My first bite was nice, fresh mint popping through the slaw and shredded carrot. The pork was tasting a bit bland. I flipped it over to see if more flavor would register, it did. Some sauce, maybe spiced mayo, Hoisin. It was slightly underdressed for me but not sloppy, refined. Later bites some sauce was coming on strong, improving. Enjoyable to the last Last bite, but not great. Very Good. Saw a pizza in the oven and it looked very small 9-10". Great looking options for toppings though. Service at the counter was friendly, plenty of staff dropping plates, napkins& flatware. Another asking my needs at the condiment station. The beer fridge caught my eye with a Chimay Blue but didn't see much local stuff. Diverse. I did see a couple of Goleta beers from down the road, so there was some representation. There were some political mementos and signs I didn't appreciate. It makes me think twice about supporting a place. I would say pretty good all around, glad we came in. So bummed! Our first experience here years ago was awesome. We were back in the area tonight after visiting a local winery. When we got there it was busy, not too crazy. We were a group of 7. We all ordered at the same time under one tab. We did get a table, but our food came out at different times and 15 mins apart. Food was also too plain or too greasy/salty. Service and vibe from staff was really off. We did get comped back for one of the dishes (the spaghetti bolognese) because it was just bad. I know this restaurant is good, and hopefully we just came on a bad night. I hope this review is taken as a way to help improve and not a discouragement. Appreciate them cutting and toasting their own bread for the croutons, but in doing so, sacrificed the usual seasoning on croutons which I missed with this dish Escargot: 4/5, meaty escargot with usual garlic, butter, and acidity of lemon to cut through all that Overall, love their expansive menu consisting of very different dishes. Popped by on the way to Solvang, and I'm so glad this place was so highly recommended because I never would've found it otherwise! We got there just after 7 on a Friday and the line was out the door. It was definitely a long wait, but made sense when we realized this was an order at the counter type of place. At first I thought we were just waiting for a table and I was not optimistic! We ordered the smoked duck salad, mushroom pizza, and rosemary pizza. It was the perfect amount of food for 2 people. The salad was fresh and delicious, very smokey. The mushroom pizza was hot and juicy, and the rosemary pizza was honestly crispy in a really wonderful way. When we got to the end, I sandwiched a slice of the mushroom pizza with the rosemary pizza.... unreal. I just can't help but mention that as we were waiting in line to order, we were standing next to the part of the open kitchen where they were making salads. The cook reached over to a bowl near the line to grab an apple, immediately revealing an incredibly moldy lemon that the apple was sitting on top of (picture attached). He did NOT wash the apple, which all had stickers on them, clearly unwashed, before slicing it. There were apples in our salad that just grossed me out to think about. Could've been an honest mistake, but shouldn't have been happening. I glanced over on the way out, and the moldy lemon was still sitting there over an hour later. read more

Our latest visit was so disappointing. Service was prompt as ever but the pizzas were made with no care at all. The toppings we not distributed so the fennel sausage pizza was soggy and then the herbs on top were branch not leaves. My spouse ended up plucking the leaves to distribute on the pizza. The potatoes on the potato pizza were cut so thickly they didn't cook all the way and the cheese was only on one side. If it were our first visit, we wouldn't go back and the rating would be lower. The menu is a bit varied with sandwiches and pizzas on the wall menu, but there specials that are posted around the counter. Normally when a place has such a varied, large menu you kind of stay away from them because they can't really do anything right so they have to offer so many things. Fortunately for you and me, Industrial Eats does almost everything really well. And lucky for me on my visit, it was local chanterelles season and it was offered at an affordable price and prepared in several different ways! Came across this place because of the Yelp! Reviews. Decided to try it out while we visited Solvang. Overall was bomb!!! This is the cutest place I have ever seen. People are so nice and helpful. Really love the hustling bustling atmosphere in this place. Parking is ample, and shared with other little stores around it. I this there was a wine tasting place and another store that I forgot. There's inside and outside seating available. Always check out their daily specialty, you will be in awed. We had this pizza that was superb, it has chile verde on, we have never tried it before. The rootbeer icecream was so yumm. Tried the daily special, pulled pork, maybe it was a little salty for me, but my kiddos went nuts over it. I have to start by saying I have loved and highly recommended Industrial Eats for many years. That's why tonight was such a disappointment, and I'm hoping it's an anomaly. Frankly, my meal tonight tasted like it was prepared by people who don't actually like food. I was traveling through town alone, and the menu is not really designed for that, so I ordered an entree of steak frites and cauliflower curry rather than multiple sharables, knowing that there would still be too much food for one person but prepared to enjoy my $70+ meal anyway. Fifteen minutes in a staff member came to my table and announced that there was no longer any steak in the house. She went to great lengths to tell me how they had looked for more - even told me where they had looked - but didn't go to any effort to apologize. She suggested I find another entree with a similar price. I chose the moules frites, because it was the same price and I typically enjoy mussels. The cauliflower tasted like nothing except creamy curry powder - no spice, no ginger, no chiles. I had to go looking for salt and found only those little paper packets they serve at McDonalds. It didn't help. The mussels were stringy and shriveled, and while their sauce looked appealing, full of shallot and chiles and herbs, it was very lime-forward and not at all flavorful. The french fries were perfectly cooked, but without a decent sauce to dip them in from either the cauliflower or the mussels they were also bland. I will say again, I have loved and highly recommended this restaurant for many years. Tonight I was grateful that I was dining alone so that I didn't have to apologize to guests. read more

Driving to LAX we wanted to stop for dinner near the 101. Our internet search provided us with Industrial Eats just a mile away. We were intrigued as it was located in an industrial area. The restaurant lives up to its name: high ceilings, exposed ductwork, kitchen open to the eating area, high tables with metal chairs, order at the counter with butcher paper covering the walls and the menu written in black marker. Eclectic is the best word to describe the selections. There were pizzas from what looked like a home made brick oven, a multitude of sandwiches made with homemade bread, exotic dishes such as escargot, kimchi, lamb shanks, and a great selection of the burgers and steaks. We selected a ham, cheese, Dijon mustard with scallions and a beef tongue Reuben with homemade sauerkraut. The place was very busy but our dinner arrived in less than ten minutes. The food was exceptional. A multitude of drinks were also available. The service was, as mentioned earlier, after ordering at the counter brought over to you and dig in. I'm glad we kept an open mind because it will be our "go to " spot for traveling south from SLO County. read more

Third time's the charm. The two other times I've come here, the line has been so long that we did not wait. On Tuesday at 1 o'clock, we walked right in. The only problem is that there was not time to study the menu. Plus we were hungry. The counter fellow helped us make choices. Two dishes would've been plenty for two people but I was glad to try all three of these. The use of garlic was profound. There seem to be a lot of garlic but things were not over garliced.
