Charcuterie plate?

I ordered the Charcuterie Board at Indigo Grille on Friday evening, and it was one of the most disappointing restaurant dishes I've received in a long time. The best way I can describe it is that it looked like an adult-sized Lunchables that had been opened and dumped onto a plate. In fact, while I was dining, another guest stopped at my table and asked if that was really the charcuterie board because they couldn't believe it was being served as a restaurant appetizer. For $18, I expected a thoughtfully assembled board with quality meats, cheeses, fruit, nuts, spreads, and fresh bread or crostini. Instead, I received a plate with what appeared to be basic cheese cubes that looked like they had come straight from a bag, low-grade sliced meats, a handful of crackers including Ritz and Town House crackers, a tacky plastic condiment cup in the middle filled with of hot jelly-like sauce that seemed completely out of place, and a few olives. Ironically, the olives were probably the best item on the plate, although several were mushy and past their prime texture. The meats lacked flavor and quality, the cheese selection was uninspired, and the overall presentation looked more like something from a cafeteria or convenience-store snack tray than a restaurant charging resort-style prices. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of attention to presentation. A charcuterie board should be visually appealing and invite you to explore different flavors and combinations. This looked like ingredients had simply been placed on a plate with little thought given to quality, balance, or appearance. I've ordered charcuterie boards at many restaurants throughout Arizona, including golf clubs, resorts, wineries, and local restaurants. For the same price--or sometimes less--I've received artisan cheeses, quality cured meats, fresh fruit, toasted baguette slices, nuts, jams, and attractive presentation. This board wasn't even close. As a Sun City Festival resident, I want Indigo Grille to succeed. Residents want a restaurant they can be proud of and support regularly. Unfortunately, this dish represents many of the concerns residents have expressed about food quality, consistency, and value. Would I order this again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it to others? Not in its current form. For $18, residents and guests deserve much better.

Pretty good! Awesome spot to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Go hit some balls at the driving range spot and then grab some food. Food was nice, service was great. The bad reviews are super old and aren't about the food. Definitely a nice spot for a great low key meal

As of July 2025, the restaurant updated its menu. I really like some of the updates! We both enjoyed our meals. I order the chicken Franceses and the husband had the chopped steak. I'm not a huge fan of lemon, but my chicken was not overly lemon flavor. Not pictured was the mushroom soup! It was very delicious. You can ALWAYS bank on wonderful soups here.....I've never been disappointed with the soup....BUT, sometimes it doesn't always come out hot, more like lukewarm. Overall, great updates to the menu and great service like always!

The dining area was not busy with just 3-4 tables occupied and a few people at the barstools. I was seated quickly by a hostess and given two menus while waiting for my friend to arrive. Menu: it's about the size of a Sears Catalog (exaggeration but about 8+ pages front and back) and appears to serve food approved by the United Nations (food from different parts of the world). This is the type of menu Gordon Ramsey would go crazy over and shred to pieces. Portions are not larger than before but prices increased considerably! Food: I ordered a Veggie Omelette with Spinach added and Whole Wheat Toast, decaf coffee, and water. My friend ordered an all-meat skillet, sourdough toast, coffee, and water. The omelette/skillet was overcooked and dry. My friend sent back his toast because it was served with a MOLD SPOT on it. Our server was not swayed by the mold and replaced it. No apologies or contact from the managers. By this point, we just didn't want to finish what we ordered and left. Dining room is well lit and spacious. Lots of available seating but could not help that their "Grand Opening" sign has been hanging outside for WEEKS. Servers are slow and never seem to be pleasant (more melancholy). Overheard one server speaking with some guests at a table using profanity. This review was based on my individual experience. This used to be our favorite breakfast spot but clearly is no longer the case. Having watched the gradual decline in quality and service, I am no longer inspired to spend my money at AZ Diner.

It's generally consistent, and when something has been off, they've usually been good about correcting it. The problem is there seems to be something nearly every visit. During the breakfast rush, the lobby gets so packed you're practically standing over people eating near the host stand. Cleanliness also needs attention - the yellow fabric booth backs are visibly stained, and on one visit I could see into the kitchen and noticed a dirty rag leaning against food being prepped. We started coming around 11:30-12 to avoid the rush, yet oddly our last two visits have had some of the longest waits for food and service. One meal took over 30 minutes waiting for a poached egg on an egg benedict (I think the kitchen forgot) while my other food sat ready in the back and got too cold to eat by the time they brought everything out. The waitress was NOT helpful at all but took the meal off when she saw we could barely eat half. Most recently when we made a reservation, we received a text saying our table was ready, confirmed it, walked inside, and were told it by the hostess " I just wanted to make sure you'd confirm, it'll be another 10 minutes." Why tell guests their table is ready when it isn't??? That just started things off bad. Although we do get a good chuckle every time we hear one of the hosts take a guest back and as "so what brings you in here?" Oh you know, probably because y'all have food and we're hungry what else? Lol That same visit, our waitress repeated all my modifications back correctly, but when we actually got the food it wasn't cooked to what was specified so I'm thinking the main problem is with the kitchen being careless and not paying attention to tickets, ticket times, cleanliness, etc. it just feels like things are getting sloppy. I don't expect perfection and any one of these things would be easy to overlook. It's the fact that the "little somethings" (cleanliness, long wait times, incorrect orders, or poor communication) are starting to add up. I do gotta say the food has been SOLID, flavor wise, which is why we've kept giving them another chance, but the attention to detail needs improvement. At this point, another major issue may finally be the one that keeps us returning here for our weekly fam brunches. I do hope things don't keep sliding though, this is a nice spot in a prime location.

It's very "millennial gray," which is personally one of my least favorite aesthetics, so the decor just isn't really my style. That being said, ambiance is obviously a personal preference and it definitely didn't take away from the great service or our overall experience. We really like this little spot and had a great time here. We'll definitely be returning!
