I ordered the Charcuterie Board at Indigo Grille on Friday evening, and it was one of the most disappointing restaurant dishes I've received in a long time. The best way I can describe it is that it looked like an adult-sized Lunchables that had been opened and dumped onto a plate. In fact, while I was dining, another guest stopped at my table and asked if that was really the charcuterie board because they couldn't believe it was being served as a restaurant appetizer. For $18, I expected a thoughtfully assembled board with quality meats, cheeses, fruit, nuts, spreads, and fresh bread or crostini. Instead, I received a plate with what appeared to be basic cheese cubes that looked like they had come straight from a bag, low-grade sliced meats, a handful of crackers including Ritz and Town House crackers, a tacky plastic condiment cup in the middle filled with of hot jelly-like sauce that seemed completely out of place, and a few olives. Ironically, the olives were probably the best item on the plate, although several were mushy and past their prime texture. The meats lacked flavor and quality, the cheese selection was uninspired, and the overall presentation looked more like something from a cafeteria or convenience-store snack tray than a restaurant charging resort-style prices. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of attention to presentation. A charcuterie board should be visually appealing and invite you to explore different flavors and combinations. This looked like ingredients had simply been placed on a plate with little thought given to quality, balance, or appearance. I've ordered charcuterie boards at many restaurants throughout Arizona, including golf clubs, resorts, wineries, and local restaurants. For the same price--or sometimes less--I've received artisan cheeses, quality cured meats, fresh fruit, toasted baguette slices, nuts, jams, and attractive presentation. This board wasn't even close. As a Sun City Festival resident, I want Indigo Grille to succeed. Residents want a restaurant they can be proud of and support regularly. Unfortunately, this dish represents many of the concerns residents have expressed about food quality, consistency, and value. Would I order this again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it to others? Not in its current form. For $18, residents and guests deserve much better. read more

This is a fine place for dinner if you live in the nearby community. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is the best part. There's a ton of patio seating and great views of the sunset over the golf course.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was great, but one of the food runners had a rude comment when someone in our party asked for an extra plate. The food itself was fine. I had a Cobb salad which is a safe bet that is hard to mess up. I think there's a lot of opportunity here, and I've heard from residents that there have been more improvements as of late! read more

No one at the front to seat us. 3 waiters/waitresses stood at the rear just looking at us. Finally I went over to ask if someone would be able to seat us. Took another 2 minutes for someone to greet us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We asked to have a booth but it wasn't cleaned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yet it wasn't busy at all. One plus is that the food was good and priced appropriately. Servers want you to tip 20% imo and get the minimal service. Won't be going there again. Very nice restaurant in this neighborhood which doesn't really have other restaurant choices. But glad this is a good one! The foods are pretty delicious, even my baby enjoyed his huge chicken tenders. The bar services are very nice too, the prices are reasonable. The Grille has struggled for the last several years with service and consistency of food. The ambience has always been great as you can sit inside or outside with a beautiful view. Recently there has been a group in the 55+ community that is working to improve the food options and taste. I am hopeful that things will improve so I will continue to try different items. If you want a good go to on the menu, it's the hamburger or Cobb salad. read more

Just rode my bike there for the Cinco de Mayo taco buffet and band. When I got there, I was told it was reservations only. No where on their advertisement did it say reservations only. Very disappointing restaurant. read more

When you live 15 miles outside of town, Indio Grille is a great option, but if you have the time, there is better value for your money

As of July 2025, the restaurant updated its menu. I really like some of the updates! We both enjoyed our meals. I order the chicken Franceses and the husband had the chopped steak. I'm not a huge fan of lemon, but my chicken was not overly lemon flavor. Not pictured was the mushroom soup! It was very delicious. You can ALWAYS bank on wonderful soups here.....I've never been disappointed with the soup....BUT, sometimes it doesn't always come out hot, more like lukewarm. First time at Indigo Grill while here checking out SCF. Seated immediately and able to choose our spot. We chose the dining table in the way cool outside Bar area. Great shade/plants, fans (and heaters!), big TVs. Excellent service from server Debbie. She gave us helpful information on the community (when we asked her). My husband had cheeseburger and fries. He said it was quite good. I had to try the buckeye version of a cheesesteak wrap. It was different-tasty-but next time I would try something else. Nice variety of items to eat. My husband enjoyed an ice cream sundae to top off the great experience. read more

The $22. Pair of fish sticks and fries says it all. I've eaten at our restaurant 5 times in 10 years and each time has been nothing short of embarrassing, I once ordered a $16. Bowl of beef stew that turned out to be beef broth with a couple of very small potatoes thrown in, and I'll never forget the pizza I ordered and was served on a tortilla with a scoop of canned tomato's on it. I can't get out of my head the week after we (the residents) paid for new carpeting and my waiter spilled my French fries off my plate on the way to the table and said whoops, then after serving what was left of my food turned and walked away leaving the spill on the floor never to return and clean up. But nothing says training from the high dollar manager like a server with inch and a half finger nails serving you a drink by grabbing it from the rim and splashing it down in front of you, no wonder everyone drinks from straws at the grill. Someone really needs to do an inventory to make sure all the money is hitting the register and not the tip jars. read more

I went in for lunch by myself today Wed 03/04/26 and the bartender outside Bar 21 not only had to handle the bar, but the food orders and NOT bussing the tables which were overloaded with used cups and beer pitchers - chairs askew and tables joined together everywhere, and then the bartender walked over to a table of used glassware and pitchers, grabbed a used and empty pitcher off the table , walked behind the bar and refilled it without rinsing/washing it and reserved it at the bar. She was OVERWHELMED with food orders, un-bussed table, my food arrived with the sandwich crust askew, and NO NAPKIN OR SILVERWARE - I had to walk up to the bar to order my food, had to walk inside to get my napkins silverware by the front door, as she was too busy to acknowledge all the new tables...THIS IS ON MANAGEMENT. I have been a waitress/server for 30 years and this was one of the worst lunch experiences EVER due to lack of staff to support the bartender. Management - LOTS of people need a job. BE BETTER at YOURS. Hire enough staff to not burn out the one or two you have and make the diners feel special and seen and heard. THIS was a NIGHTMARE. read more

Called in a to-go order on 6/13. Was told it would be ready in 20 min. When I got there it wasn't ready. Ended up waiting 30 min for the food to be ready. Completely unacceptable. Pretty sure they forgot to place my order. We ordered a Royale cheeseburger and the Super Nachos. The burger was burnt to a crisp and inedible. The nachos were hardly recognizable. There was a slim sprinkling of toppings and what I am guessing were cheese globs, but it sure didn't look like cheese. Most of it was stuck to the top of the pizza box they used. We ordered this food for guests we had, and it was extremely disappointing and embarrassing. Why isn't management overseeing this restaurant better??? read more

It's quite pricey for the amount of food we ordered. We ordered take out so our food wasn't hot at all. Nachos were delicious and large enough for 2 as a meal or up to 6 as an appetizer/side. Hubby enjoyed the Cajun pasta. Fried chicken needs a LOT more hot honey. They supply a very light drizzle (not enough to even flavor the chicken). Cheeseburger dip is smoky. Everyone was incredibly rude to me from the moment I walked In too the moment I walked out. I felt unwelcomed, the hostess was trying to deter me from staying and didn't even offer to seat me and said maybe you can find something and then even the bartender (James, I made a point to find out his name because he was incredibly rude.) gave me the vibe he did not care to help me at all because they were busy. Have eaten here a few times since it's so close. We enjoy the outdoor patio. I've had the spicy margarita and it's not spicy but it is good.. real smooth. Expensive though. One time had the carne asada nachos and would not recommend. The steak was like little pellets and was over done. My friend had chicken tinga nachos once and she said they were good. The cheese is real (vs cheese sauce) which is nice. The chips were mostly good (vs stale). Fried green beans are super good. And cream cheese ball with spicy dipping sauce was very tasty too. For meals, the Reuben was grisly and fatty; but the sandwich flavor was good. The meat was chunked on the sandwich vs slices which would have been better. The French Dip sandwich was fine. Onion rings are fine. Burgers are good and big. Fries are good. Service was friendly enough when they are attending to you which is intermittent. Gets a bit chilly in the evening waiting for the check to arrive when you're at the outside patio. The atmosphere is fun and the view is gorgeous. I'd go back especially when they start up outdoor live music again! read more

Great service and for a golf course grill in a 55 community it's top notch. Drinks are good. The outside seating is great with awesome views. The interior design is really the only part that needs to be upgraded. Otherwise excellent place to eat. read more

I decided to order 3 fish and chips to go. I walked in and the older lady at the hostess stand with long gray hair was very frazzled and rude. She didn't like that I was standing there waiting for my order to be made and suggested I wait outside. Feeling pressured, I waited outside. While waiting outside I noticed they have a rat issue since I saw one run right over my shoe and a few more running around bushes! Finally received my order and took them home. The quality was just awful. The fish itself was was terrible! 2 pieces of what looked like drum sticks. Tasted terrible as well. Like as if the fryer oil needed to be changed. Ended throwing it all out. Best part I believe they were $15.99 each. When I called the restaurant to explain I was hung up on by that same woman at the hostess stand. What a shame! We had a reservation and sat outside for lunch. There were three of us and the service was very efficient, the food was just fine and we enjoyed the view of the golf course and mountains. We made reservations for 6:30pm on a Friday night. It's a lovely setting to enjoy lunch or dinner. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and felt very welcomed. We ordered the lettuce wraps, fish and chips and the burger with sautéed mushrooms. The lettuce wraps were delicious but was a bigger portion than we thought. We ended up taking most of it home and having it for lunch the next day which worked out great. For the fish and chips, the french fries were yummy but the fish was more like glorified fish sticks. They were good but nothing special. The burger and onion rings were terrific. It was one of the better burgers that I've had in a long time. I would definitely order it again.
