Phenomenally tasty shawarma wrap with baba ganoush, a pita, and a drink for $8.99.
Rob P.

I normally pack a lunch, but I forgot my lunch today, so I decided to try this place out. I'm definitely glad I did. My office is about a 5 minute drive from this place; by the time I got there, my food was already done. In some places, I'd be concerned that the food is pre-made, but that's not the case here: the chicken shawarma was obviously just made to fill my order. Fantastic. And, that chicken shawarma does stand up to some pretty impressive competition: this is Dearborn, after all, which has some of the best Mediterranean food in the world. This wrap had a good ratio of pita to high quality chicken and pickle. I would definitely order it again. But, it actually gets better than that. The chicken shawarma with a side and a drink costs only $8.99. I chose baba ganoush, which has a fantastic smoky quality that I expect from a good baba ganoush. And, the portion is very generous (about a cup). The baba ganoush was so good that I ate the whole thing, even though I was full by the time I finished the sandwich with it. If you do decide to order from here - which I highly recommend - please note that this place is located inside The Vinery liquor store. This turns out to be a very nice bonus, because they have a phenomenal selection, but it does make it hard to figure out which door to go into to find the restaurant. This has me concerned that people will miss out on this fantastic addition to Dearborn's culinary landscape. Please also note that there is only take-out service available. Like I said, it's located inside a shop. But, it's so good that you'll want to forget your lunch some day so you have an excuse to get a carry-out from here.

This express in and out shawarma is at the back of the Vinery store. I was warmly greeted by the each of the 2 staff members as I came in and was handed a takeout menu for easy reading, the board was high above my normal eye level. I ordered the veggie combo for 1, small cup of crushed lentil, fatoosh salad sans pita chips and added feta, $0.75 add-on. They have walking through Istanbul on the TV via YouTube for your waiting amusement. All of the employees are extremely friendly at least and pleasant. I was advised to give the dressing a good shake before dousing it over my salad. The romaine lettuce for the fatoosh needs to be fresh, some red and brown spots on several leaves, the feta dusting is not worth the $.75 at all. The crushed lentil is not so good, on the bland side and there is rice for filler too, which I don't like in my lentil. The hummus is super blah and needed more lemon, it's one is the worst I have ever had to date. It wasn't good enough to take in more than 2 small teaspoons of the stuff. The tabouli is okay, but is looking old since the green onions and parsley are starting to brown. The baba is not bad, smokey. The grape leaves are mostly leaves, maybe a few grains of rice at most. The staff are nice to deal with, the food is sub-par.

Friendly service, and the food was excellent. Options for those family members with more conservative palettes as well.

Fantastic food. Shawarmas are great. Pricing is fair for the amount of food you get. Will be going back!

I ordered 4 chicken shawarmas and a large almond rice salad. They charged me $38. The salad had no dressing.

In town for work. Common recommendation is the solid Middle Eastern food scene…read more Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. There's a parking garage in the rear and plenty of spots. I did enter through the rear of the establishment since I parked there. The menu is pretty extensive. Ended up getting the half order of hummus. A basket of warm pita and two sauces came out. I initially thought that was the pita. This was complimentary I believe. The garlic sauce is solid. The other one is a spicy sauce of some sort. This spicy one was super good. The hummus came out. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. I opted for the lentil soup. That came out piping hot. This was delicious. Flavorful and good texture. My entree came out and wow. The portion is way more than what you pay for. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.

If I could give zero stars I would *DO NOT GO HERE IF U HAVE A PEANUT OR TREE NUT ALLERGY*…read moreMe and my boyfriend went in to get 3 chicken shawarmas we go in and place the order my boyfriend has a severe peanut allergy so of course I said that when we placed the order we get in the car he eats one and tells me he doesn't feel well and I asked well like stomach not feel well or allergy not feel well he said the allergy kind of don't feel well we get home and he is sick to his stomach. We didn't know getting a major stomachache is a sign of anaphylaxis. He's laying on the couch and extreme pain we get up so I can go home and he starts to feel super sick so we go to the hospital and we have to go to the emergency room keep in mind I told them beforehand that he has a peanut allergy and when he started not feeling good I called them in the car and asked them Is there any peanuts or peanut oil or anything in the food and they told me no we sat in the ER for five hours. We called them a couple days later and they tried to tell us that it could've been from something else that he had eaten that was our first meal of the day and if it was from something that he eaten before he would've had the reaction at that time not hours later when he goes and eat something else! they're taking this as a joke allergies are not a joke you can kill someone this way! Employees need to learn their menu #1 and #2 have protocols for people with allergies because I don't know what in the chicken from could've given someone with a peanut allergy a reaction, but there was definitely some cross contamination of some sort if they're so strict on that there is no peanut or tree nut in their Shawarma.

While I was waiting for my order, I ducked into the bathroom. Very, very dirty. This is any indication of what it looks like beyond the dining area I would be very worried.
