I was just at the Arab-American national museum (which everyone should visit) and had lunch here - just a block away. The Chicken Ghallayah special, at only 10 dollars, was phenomenal. Pretty freakin' tasty and large portions, too. I placed an order from Baba's a day in advance for delivery because a group of coworkers and I were going to be working together and I wanted to make sure we all got something to eat. It was about to be a very long day. I found them on Yelp and I scheduled the delivery through Yelp, super easy. The food arrived right on time and packaged up tightly. For the group we ordered a couple beverages, a large hummus with extra pita, one Greek salad with chicken, one caesar salad, one falafel appetizer, and one shish tawook sandwich. The total was about $100 and right off the bat I couldn't believe how big the portions were. For what we paid, we certainly got our money's worth. The hummus was super creamy and the falafel were fried to perfection. I don't eat chicken but my coworkers said that the Greek salad with chicken was delicious, particularly the chicken. I was a little bummed about the caesar salad, as they put the dressing on it, unlike the Greek salad, and it arrived rather mushy and not very appetizing. That would be the only complaint, though. We came here yesterday for lunch, on a Sunday. My boyfriend said pre-COVID he used to go here almost daily for lunch, as they have $8 lunch plate specials. I think the specials must be Monday-Friday because they weren't offered yesterday. They also used to serve their own house bread with garlic - we were served a plate of what looked like store-bought pita bread, but apparently that's because their oven wasn't working. We had to ask for the garlic paste, too, although there was no upcharge for them. When you sit down, they provide you with two water bottles (one each), which apparently was also unusual, they used to do regular tap water. On our bill at the end they charged us $1 each for them - not very much, but I get annoyed when that happens as we never actually requested a bottle of water. Now for the good stuff: the food was very good, and the sandwiches, especially, are reasonably priced, around $4-5 each. I had the Shish Tawook which was a chicken, pickles, and garlic sandwich. My boyfriend had the Kafta entree ($15-ish I think?), which was a little expensive but you do get a ton of food. He says Baba's has the best Kafta in the area, too. Overall I'd definitely come back here since the food was so tasty, although I am not in Dearborn that often unfortunately. read more

We came here the second time for a team lunch because everyone on my team loves this place. The food is great.. we have tried their jumbo platters for 10 ppl, and they had every item on the platter. Every item was very well made. The restaurant is decent size, around 10-15 tables, they can host large groups but I think they need reservations in advance.. Down here for a work training session and wanted to grab some good food to take home. This place was suggested to me, so I went ahead and made a carry out order. I ordered the Platter for 2 and a Chicken Schwarma platter with a fattoush salad. Can I just say there are a lot of Schwarma places out there, but this is some of the best Chicken Schwarma I've ever had. It was moist and tender and very flavorful. Also, the kabobs with the platter were also excellent. There was so much food, we easily could have fed 4 people. I'm not complaining though, we definitely enjoyed the leftovers! Our servers name was Moe and he treated the three of us like honored guests as he dropped off several complimentary appetizers like hommous, crispy chilled pickles and fresh out of the oven pitas. He also gave us a plate of Toum which was really the highlight of my dinner. Spread some of this incredibly light and garlicy Lebanese aioli on your fresh baked pita and let your mouth be amazed at the creamy texture. I could have just enjoyed all the free food and been plenty full but, you know, that just wouldn't be nice, so I ordered one of their entrees. Now the entrée prices include your choice of soup or salad and rice or fries so I opted for the Chicken Lemon Noodle which had a piping hot broth and was loaded with fresh vegetables. My Gallayah ($13.95) reminded me of Chicken Fajitas and they serve a good sized portion. They sauté chunks of chicken breast with garlic, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and tomatoes and paired it with a serving of rice pilaf on the side. I enjoyed this dish. It makes me want to go back and try some more Lebanese cuisine soon. It was a wonderful meal and a great introduction to this cuisine especially because I had the assistance of a couple local friends, the "Dearborn Dynamic Duo" - Allison F. and Jacob F., who were nice enough to meet up with me again. If anyone has questions about the Downriver area of Metro Detroit, from divey to not, these guys are the ones to talk to! Im still holding tough with the 40 Meatless days for lent but finding myself havin to find new places. I eat in this area alot but havent eaten here in years. It was basically stop here or don't eat tonight. Without reading reviews or planning I had no idea what to expect. I Ordered lentil soup. 1 Vegetarian Grape Leave Shwarma 1 Falafel shwarma. Soup was delicious and creamy and flavorful. Vegetarian wrap was a good size, not as big as bucharest not as small as Greenland, the grape leaves were tender and moist and flavorful. Slightly lemony like how i like it. Had plenty of hummus. Delicious. The falafel wrap was also a decent size. The falafel was flavorful and cooked correctly so it wasnt dry. I forgot I ordered food from here once before. Had takeout food at work. Ordered lentil, salad and some hummus before. It was all okay, but not as special as I had hoped and was told by colleagues. I decided to give it another try. Hoping for a veggie combo for 2 people. No dice, only have it for 4 people. Have a pitcher at our table but no ones been by yet. Was able to order salmon galliya with some effort, Spicy with a fatoosh sans pita chips and lentil soup. My husband ordered the chicken shawarma plate with rice and lentil. I asked for a fresh OJ but the machine was broken. The fresh bread looked good and was tempting but we are doing gf today. The garlic butter smells yummy. The lentil is super thick, tastes okay, slightly better with lemon juice. The salad dressing is good, lots of sumac, but maybe a bit too heavy on the dressing, the salad was swimming. The chicken shawarma platter's meat was extremely dry, so much so that my husband didn't want half of it. He ate what he could and smothered it with the garlic butter to make it edible. The salmon galliyah was tasty, though not spicy at all. I did explain to the waitress that the chicken meat was extremely dry, she responded that the chicken spit was at the end and apologized. I get carryout from Baba's a couple times a month and am always impressed. Ordering on the phone is a breeze. Their wait times are always reasonable (usually under 15 minutes for carryout) and the dedicated pick-up area is a plus. I'm a huge fan of their garlic sauce... so light, fluffy and deathly garlicy. I usually get a chicken shawarma for about $4. They are seriously huge. I can never eat it in one sitting, meaning for $4, I get two meals. You can't go wrong with that. The employees are always really friendly. I am really glad I found Baba's Grill. Tasty food, large portions and friendly staff mean I'll keep getting my lunch fix here. read more

This place is a hit or miss. It really depends on the service but if you try coming In an hour before close they will make you feel incredibly uncomfortable. They charge you for water even if you don't ask for it. A bunch of fruit flies around the restaurant. Salad tasted old but the kebabs were good. read more

I split the platter for 2 with my buddy because it had just a little bit of everything on it. It was 30 bucks which seemed like a lot but with the amount of food you get it would easily feed four people so its worth the money. The meat was grilled perfectly, had the right amount of char without being burned. Loved the fresh pita bread also, great for dipping into the hummus and they give you a lot of hummus. The food was really good so I have no real complaints about it. I'm giving a 3 out of 5 because the service was really bad. I feel bad for the waitress I think they were way understaffed it looked like they had 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant. My water glass was never refilled, and after asking for to go boxes the waitress brought them and never came back. I sat at the table for 15 minutes just waiting for check, the table piled high with dirty dishes and no one ever came by. I eventually just left enough cash to cover my meal on the table and walked out. Very bad experience for a place that serves pretty decent food. read more
