Arbeel Family Tray for 3
Tawfiq M.

Amazing, homey spot for iraqi kabobs! Our waitress was incredibly helpful and friendly and she treated us like family, she even gave us black tea on the house! We got a platter for 3 which comfortably fed our family of four with leftovers, and at under $60 that's a huge deal. The kabobs were all super flavorful and tender and we loved the beans and the eggplant curry on the side. Will definitely be back if we're in the area!

Good portion of food, beef kebab and chicken kebab were both very good. The complimentary lentil soup was much appreciated on the cold day! The potato stew was just okay. We enjoyed everything!

Arbeel Kabab is an Iraqi restaurant with some excellent food. We usually get the family tray, which is enough for a family and still have leftovers. They don't give as much food as some other restaurants, but everything is high quality. On my most recent trip, I got: Arbeel Family Tray #1 ($34.99) - You get a choice of white bean, eggplant, or okra stew to start. We got the white bean stew - well stewed beans in a tomato broth. Good flavor throughout. It also comes with a salad that's pretty normal. The rice is perfectly cooked basmati. Unlike a lot of other places, they give an appropriate amount of rice here for the meat. Normally I have to order an additional side of rice, but not at Arbeel. The meat quality is great. The chicken tekka (similar to a tawook) is super moist, right on the cusp of still having some pink. The meat and chicken guss - hard to describe, but the flavor profile is totally different from a Lebanese shawarma. Both are juicy and retain that satisfying browning from the scorched exterior. The meat and chicken kababs (similar to kafta) have a softer texture than kafta and retains moistness so much better. The chicken cream chop is fried chicken - hard to not be delicious. The platter came with 2 large flatbreads (the type that is generically named khubz or "Arabic bread" at most of the Iraqi grocery stores in Metro Detroit). I feel like these used to be fresh baked in house, but these felt like they were definitely from an outside source. Or perhaps we were just unlucky and got day old bread. Not that they are bad, just not as fresh as they used to be. Large Hommous Plate ($8.49) - The hummus has a great balance of tahini, chickpeas, and oil. Not very lemony. It's a good hummus but not outstanding. The only real complaint I have is that it comes with a only single piece of bread, which is not nearly enough for the amount of hummus you get. Arbeel is definitely a nice restaurant to visit, especially if you're looking for a slight departure from the many Lebanese and Yemenite restaurants in the area.

$6 dollars for one swarma was a stupid amazing price! It was also one of the best swarmas I've ever had. I wish the fried were more flavorful, but no complaints for the price and amount. Service was quick, and the restaurant was a more casual, laid back diner vibe. It had booths and tables, and large windows. One of the best and affordable places to get food in Dearborn!

Meat sandwich, French fries

Me and a friend decided to check this place out for Dearborn restaurant week. The deal was for 2 meat sandwiches and fries, so that's what we got. The meat sandwich was fantastic. The bread was so fresh and soft. The meat was perfectly acidic and seasoned well. The fries were very similar to McDonald's (in the a good way!) - crispy, and tasty- missing a bit of salt. They ended the meal with a cup of tea Service was fast and everyone was polite. Came for the deal, but I'll be back to try more things on the menu.

The service is nice and quick ... the food wasn't that great ... the chicken was more on the dry side They are kids friendly and the menu for the kids only has 2 options which what most kids go for... I'll be back to try other things on the menu

Arbeel Kabob is an Iraqi restaurant that also serves Mediterranean food and is an excellent place for any meal and any occasion! The meal we had last night was fit for a Sultan! They give very generous portions here. The service from the very nice lady server was so friendly that we felt like we were at a friends house. Plenty of free parking and outdoor seating during the season. We ordered appetizers and also ordered the family platter for 2. If you order this, you get to try a variety of what they offer and it's enough for 4 people! It's the best! We started off with a very creamy lentil soup that was very comforting. We then had the best hummus I ever ate in my life! It was soft, smooth and was really addictive. We couldn't stop eating it. We then had the falafels which were shaped a little differently than most places but they were served hot and tasted very good. We moved on to the salad which was refreshing with the dressing of olive oil, spices and fresh squeezed lemon. The huge warm breads are made in house to accompany your meal. The meat platter was show stopper stunning and every meat item we ate was flavorful and melted in our mouths! We also received a bowl of vegetable stew to eat with the rice. I think anything you order here is going to be delicious. To top it off the hot tea and sweets at the end really finished out a very nice evening here. My favorites from this meal was everything, but if I had to pick then it would be the hummus, boneless carved chicken and the lamb and chicken kabobs. Beautiful place, people and of course the wonderful food!

You had me at chicken kafta. There is nowhere for you to stand for a carry out order here at all. I ordered a half order of chicken kafta, chicken shawarma with side of large hummus, a small salad and a large salad and a lentil soup to go. Order takes about 25 minutes. It's busy inside, that's great. They ran out of hummus, had to wait another 5-10 more minutes for them to make some more or cancel it on my order. Hummus is another must with middle . They don't have any garlic spread here, told me it's a Lebanese thing and they don't have it here. Bummer, we eat our shawarma and kafta with garlic sauce, always. Had to go pick it up elsewhere then. $55.06 is our total for our meal tonight. I do like that they gave us the big flat bread, it's cold since home is half hour away, but it's still chewy. The hummus is really bland, lacking in flavor, lemon or anything actually. Did they miss some seasoning in their haste to make a quick batch for my to go order or something. The chicken kafta is dry, quite so in fact. Good thing I got some garlic sauce elsewhere. The chicken shawarma meat is thick and mostly white meat, but it's dry too. The large and small salad aren't much different as far as size goes. They are both unfortunately made with iceberg lettuce. Romaine or a mix would be better. Dressing is decent at least. Some pita chips somehow made it into my salad. It would also be best to keep the dressing on the side since it was rather soggy by the time I returned home. The lentil soup isn't bad, a bit runny, but okay as far as flavor.

Support this business. Food is great, establishment is clean and nice, and majority of the employees are kind. Everyone will have a different experience. This was mine: I ordered a food tray for 5 today that came with a variety of grilled meat, shawarma, and skewers of meat and chicken over a bed of rice. The tray was very large and there was more food than for 5 people. The portions are great and they come with a salad and with three containers of stew depending on what you prefer. We got white bean and it was delicious. The establishment is very clean and most of the employees are kind. They just moved to this location and business looks like it was been doing well compared to the other businesses that have opened up and closed in this location. When I came in to pickup my order today, I came with a little over $50 and enough to cover tax. I found the menu online(attached below) and to the right column, third row..it says 49.99. I wasn't told the price when I called and ordered. I just assumed the prices didn't change. I didn't mind either way. What bothered me is when I came in and had my cash ready in my hand, and they told me the price was a little over $60, I was a little puzzled and somewhat anxious because I needed to pull my card out. I asked the women with the black hair at the register if I can do $60 in cash and the approximate $4 bucks on my card. She scrawled and gestured in a rude way when I was just being kind..she left the register and called someone else over to ring me out and I was just confused. I didn't do anything besides ask if I can make a split payment since the menu price was wrong. The second women was wearing a hijab and she was nice and normal, transacted it instantly without a problem. Nevertheless, I will continue to support this business despite being off-put by the incident. I hope they can train some of the staff better. There's no need for being unkind. I always respect people and treat them with kindness and full empathy. I will be leaving this same review on Google.

We were also looking for vegetarian options for a colleague that I was with. In a cool part of town, Himalayan Flames is right in the middle of a bustling area full of shops and restaurants. On this particular weeknight, the area was fairly busy. There's some parking on the street but there's also a huge parking lot behind the block that Himalayan Flames is on, so go on back there and find a spot. There are signs on the back of the building you guiding you to a back entrance which leads to a number of different businesses. You'll find the entrance to Himalayan Flames towards the front of the building. We were seated right away and began browsing the menu. Not a huge place, but cozy and nicely decorated. Cool vibe. I opted for the Lamb Korma and Garlic Naan bread. Outstanding on both fronts. The Lamb Korma was full of flavor and perfectly spiced for my taste. I forget the spice level options, but go with what you know. Whatever I asked for was perfect. Lamb was tender and tasty. Combine that with the edible scoop that you can make out of the Naan bread and you're set. Would I go back? Without question. I highly recommend giving Himalayan Flames a shot and check out their flavor filled menu with options for everyone. We were impressed and hopefully you will be also.

I was visiting the Arab American National Museum down the street and wanted to grab a quick bite and I didn't want McDonald's or Burger King. I thought...hmm a sandwich shop. Let's just grab a quick bite. I didn't know what to order so I ordered the Ontario and an iced caramel latte. Once the sandwich came out I thought," Hmm looks good." Ordered carry out. crushed lentil bowl, chicken kafta, two sides: small hummus, small baba ghanouj, large fattoush salad with no pita. $38.13 Food takes about 15 minutes to be ready. Drove all the way back to the office. My chicken kafta looks to be lamb, not at all what I ordered. My large fattoush is covered in pita chips. Had to spend several minutes getting every pita chip out of the salad. It's good I am not allergic to gluten. They shove the dressing packet in the corner of the salad, so you get a bit less, that and the pita chips. Other than that, the salad was fine. I am quite disappointed the order is not right! The crushed lentil soup has a lot of rice in it, which is just filler to me. Has some clumps of something, may be rice and starch? It's too inconvenient to drive all the way back. Do be sure to check your carry out order before you leave the place. The crushed lentil is quite bland, not much flavor to it. Tastes some fennel, quite a few clumps of starch. The soup is more rice than lentil. I could count on one hand how many traces of lentil was in my bowl of soup. What in the world? My husband ate the lamb kafta, since I don't eat red meat. He said it was so-so, but rather dry.
