The brisket dinner contains 1 lb of slow cooked goodness -- 454 g of "get in my belly" & some very popular highly caloric Mac n Cheese. Other than this place might be a little hard to find, is definitely worth the search. We were greeted by a friendly front counter employee. She was I don't like to talk to as well as very helpful on what to order. I ordered the Aljoom Burger at her suggestion and I was not disappointed. This place is small, but they do have places to eat out back as well as a lunch counter in the front window and along the side. The burger was very tasty, I normally don't like barbecue sauce on a burger but it was very understanding in the flavor of the beef stood out. My favorite new place to eat while in Dearborn Heights. The brisket was so good, very tender and Smokey. All the meats are halal so that's a plus for me. The BBQ sauce was very good, sweet and Smokey. I went two days in a row because I just loved the food I ordered. I'm from the south and we love our BBQ especially brisket. I ordered the boss sausage and also Detroit Loaded fries, my daughter had the Swiss and Shroom burger with ranch fries. The burger was very juicy and the mushrooms and grilled onions just made it so delicious. They also give you so much meat that that I had it for lunch and dinner. Oh my goodness! I was in the area for something else and stoped in for lunch. Small joint, bar sitting only. The cashier was very nice, helped me decide what to get. I ordered the AlJoom Burger or their #1, came with two kinds of cheese, brisket, bbq sauce and a fantastic bun. The brisket had this flavor that was out of this world and a little bit of a char. Update: I hate to change my review but I feel I have to. I don't know what's going on with the new burger meat but they are horrible. It's this thick weird frozen tasting meat nothing like it was originally. Also the Detroiter the last few times we weren't able to eat it bc it was all fat. I told them over the phone that the last time I ordered the brisket it was all fat pieces and to please try any not to put fat in the brisket sub but again it was all fat. I think it will be a very long time before we order from here again and we used to order every weekend and spend at least $100 each time. read more

This place was excellent. I tried the Shak-a-licious burger which was hot, juicy with just the right amount of heat. Egg on top was runny just like I requested. Cajun fries were also hot and crunchy. The only downside is the place is very small with little room to eat in. read more

I found AlJoom's on Instagram. The food pics I saw on there look delicious, and it gets great reviews. The owner and staff are also friendly and helpful. I had the Detroiter sub which is smoked beef brisket topped with onions, mushrooms, jalapeño, mayo, and bbq sauce. The sandwich was huge so we were able to share it and an order of fries. The sandwich is good so I'll give it 3 stars for now. I want to try more of the menu though. read more

My husband and I have been here a few times . Spent $80 on the two of us today .. both for burgers he got the Brisket fries , I got brisket Mac & cheese with no meat .. Mac was 6/10 minus all the oil not my favorite and it's one of my gotos lol... This place is a hidden gem, I did not even realize I work only a few miles away from here. I plan to frequent this place during lunch now. The inside has seating for about 10-12 people max. The staff is friendly and supportive, they helped me decide on what to eat since I was stuck between their standard and barbecue menu. The loaded fries are a must, you can choose a different type of cheese, its brisket style steak, fries, and delicious sauce. The meat melts in your mouth and pairs well with the dish. One order is enough to share between two unless you are particularly hungry. I received my order fairly quick, had a chicken burger which I would recommend to the staff to make spicy, the normal one is a bit bland so I had to add hot sauce to it.
