I've been hearing about the Nashville hot chicken sandwiches at District 12 for a while and finally convinced my family to try them. We tried two trios of sliders - the Nashville Hot and the Nashville Not (no spice). Both were very good and two sliders for each person was plenty of food. We all preferred the Nashville Hot because of the added flavor - the heat builds on you - it doesn't seem too hot at first but you can definitely taste it later. We were interested in sides too but couldn't find fries or onion rings or anything like that in their online menu. Reviews seem to indicate they have them, but I really wish they would add them to their site so carryout diners know the full options. The restaurant is very attractive and would be nice in summer when you can dine on the patio. read more

Was recommended to come here for lunch. It wasn't busy. I walked in and ordered food which was ready in 15 mins. I ordered a fried chicken Caesar wrap and Cajun fries. Overall, the meal was good. My wrap was a tad bit dry but did not lack flavor. I should have ordered a side of sauce. The fries were great; shoestring fries. For the whole Combe it was less than $17. Went here to meet a friend for lunch before the holidays. The place was mostly empty, and we ordered at the counter. The people at the counter were pleasant and helpful when I asked questions about the menu, since it was my first time there. The place was a bit spartan/minimalist inside, with mostly just tall metal chairs and tables. My Nashville Hot crispy chicken sandwich was good. The bun fell apart a little bit while eating, so I had to go get a fork and knife to finish it. I loved the chicken, which was super tender, and the spices and seasonings and toppings were spot on. Just needed a more serious bun to hold all of that goodness together and keep it as a hand-held lunch. The sandwich was $13, though, without any sides. Adding a small fry was $5. Adding a lemonade was another $2.25. My simple lunch of a chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink was over $20, and that's before tax and tip. I don't feel like the meal was "$25 lunch" level of good. I can get a steak dinner with two sides and a beer at many other restaurants at that same price point. I don't anticipate going back to District 12 unless they have a lunch special that brings the total cost of a lunch similar to the one I got down in the $15 range. read more

I ordered the crispy honey siracha wrap (can also get it grilled) with tomato tortilla (you can choose that, white or wheat) and the Mac and cheese bites. He made my order a combo and I got a drink. I was told I could choose fountain or can, I opted for fountain. They have Pepsi products. My total came to $20.00. This place is small but cute inside with a lot of Detroit themes on the wall. You can eat in or take your food to go, they even had connect four and cards sitting out for people to play with. Everything seems to be made fresh and I was told my food would be ready in 12 minutes...it was (actually may have been less than that). I've been seeing this place when driving around the area and when I pulled up their website EVERYTHING looks amazing. I definitely want to work my way through the menu! I really wanted to try a shake but opted to be healthy (lmao) so will save that for next time! I've never had Mac and cheese bites and these were good, very crispy and cheesy with a creamy texture and good flavor. I thought they would be like a cheese stick but they decidedly are not. My wrap was good, the siracha for sure was present, very spicy! Almost too spicy for me. I think they may have burned my chicken because there was a distinctive charred taste in there that was off putting but overall the wrap was still pretty tasty. I dipped it in the ranch and that took it over the top in the best way. I wouldn't get the siracha honey again but they have a ton of other items and wraps that I would like to try. read more

There are a lot of specialty burger joints around metro Detroit as we all know and this is another one on par with those... -Prices are hefty... Burger, Shake and Fries was $20. -I had a BBQ Burger... it was cool, I like my burger closer to medium, my burger was closer to well done but I could tell the guys there took pride in making everything. My Butterfinger shake was pretty good too... I think the taste of the shakes are up there with the best ones out there. A customer came in and bought just a strawberry shake while I was there. The Cajun fries were cool... I'd go with regular fries instead... they're a McDonalds type of fry and we all love McDonald's fries. - A perk is they do not skimp on the food. A "small" fry was literally a basket of fries, you and a friend can definitely share the small. There was enough shake for your buck too. New to the area, I decided that I would support local businesses for lunch instead of the fast food chains. I found District 12 here on Yelp with pretty good reviews. I called in my order to a friendly voice and it was ready when I got there. I ordered a Cedar burger, but modified it subbing cheeses and sans the ketchup. I wasn't pleased with how dry both the burger and coleslaw were...the fries even seemed dry. It would've been a fabulous burger were it juicy with slaw that had a bit more dressing; and if the fries were greasy. I will definitely try it again on another day, however. However, the sandwich had no taste very bland. It also taste very greasy not the chicken, but just the breading, I called and spoke with someone they didn't even care. he told me that the grease was changed yesterday. I also agree with a previous reviewer that the bun holds no weight. The Nashville sauce is just oil with paste. While driving down telegraph last night every major fast food chain had cars lining up out into the road. I didn't want to wait in a line like that and it was getting to the point where I might turn and go home. Then my partner and I saw this place. It's in the lot where the shawarama restaurant used to be. Next to the gas station on ann arbor trail and telegraph. Easy to pass. My advice would be to try it out instead of taco bell across the street. Nashville hot chicken is a mild spice for me, though my tolerance for spice is high. There's a really nice smokey flavor and hits every side of your mouth. Sriracha honey wrap is what I got. Its exactly what you want and expect in a good way. Cajun fries were good. We waited 20 minutes for our order so call ahead. They are busy even if you see no one there because of all the delivery apps. I do suggest if it's on your commute to pick up the food yourself. The drive way is clean, I saw them wipe tables multiple times while I waited 20 min. and it'll help the business from soaking the fees from door dash. PS the interior is cool. I usually try places once I get the Yelp suggestions and man am I glad I tried this place. I ordered the Nashville hot sliders, boneless wings and fries. The sliders were awesome. The cole slaw gives it a good crunch and the sauce really adds to it. The boneless wings were good, but have no sauce to them so you'll need a dipper. The small fries were enough for two people.
