I'm going to be the oddball out here with this review but here we go... I first saw Corn on the Corner on Tiktok and was craving it so as soon as we came to Michigan to visit, it was one of the first stops. The first time I arrived, I was told that it would be an hour and a half wait - so I immediately left because honestly that's ridiculous. Then, I called the store and was immediately sent a text - mid call- along the lines of give your name and order number and we'll give you an estimate... so I replied back "how long is the wait", I was again quoted over an hour. So I asked if I could text my order and just head that way when it's ready and they replied sure. So I ordered the classic (viral) Chicken Caesar Wrap and their Garlic Parm Fries. The place was packed (seating isn't plentiful to begin with), there are tables inside and out but the restaurant itself is on the smaller side. I arrived when they estimated and my food was being bagged after I went to the pick up counter with my information. When I got to the car and opened the box, I immediately noticed a large pile of butter/oil in the corner seeping out, and the sandwich was cold... it didn't have that crispy Parmesan cheese texture I've seen all over TikTok (bread was soft) and the inside was on the soggy side - so it was quite messy to eat. The fries were drenched in an oil or butter mix that after a few bites, my stomach felt heavy. Overall, for the hype and long wait times - I left feeling disappointed but am glad I got to try it while I was in town so I don't keep thinking about this place every time I see a TikTok about it! read more

I've been here before and tried their corn and grilled cheese. Had a great experience. This time I wanted to try their viral chicken caesar wrap. Last time I went it as so busy it was a half hour wait. This time around I was able to get one for lunch and it did not disappoint. This is a food truck located in a corner of a gas station. Their menu has lots of delicious sounding options. I ordered the Nashville chicken grilled cheese, kale slaw and biscoff banana pudding, the total was a little over $33.00. The owner ( presume) was super nice he took my order quickly, gave me a complimentary banana pudding and bought my food to my car when it was ready. I am a coke slaw connoisseur and that kale slaw was AMAZING...creamy, perfect amount of dressing with a hint of sweetness....sooooo good! I had about a 15 minute drive home and my grilled cheese was still warm and gooey and the bread perfectly toasted when I arrived. The sandwich was HUGE and packed with chicken, I barely was able to finish half and ate the other half the next day for brunch; it still tasted amazing after being heated in the microwave. Neither pudding had bananas on them, which I appreciated and did not miss. Each one was creamy, delectable and packed with cookies. The portions were also very big. The chicken Caesar wrap is an imitation of the one from Frank's deli in Eastern Market, with the cheese grilled on the outside of the bread. Frank's is fabulous. This one was not that flavorful and did not taste fresh. It was a let down. The burger was subpar and you can get a much better smash burger across the street at Famous or down the road at Level Zero. The staff was nice but the wait was just too long for the mediocre food. Despite the green and yellow light from a corn themed neon sign saying "OPEN," they were closed. At lunch. On a Thursday. Don't get it twisted, dear reader: with my spidey senses on high alert, I made it my mission to pop (corn) this mystery. Months later, the call of corn came to me. I heard they had a food truck, and the chase was on. Located next to a busy gas station on Ford Road, I pulled into the lot of the adjacent medical center. The truck staff were welcoming and polite. We ordered, and they asked which vehicle we were in- they were going to bring it directly to us. That's what I call service! It came fairly quickly too, maybe a two radio song wait, and the food showed up, hot and poppin'! A quick 5 min drive home and the food was still piping, a quality I respect. We chose some of the most popular items, beginning with El Chapo, their take on elote. At $12, we were satisfied with the portion size; big portion for a big price. The packaging was smart for such a hot and heavy product. Spices, creamy crema, and a heavy snow of cotija spread across sweet kernels danced in indulgent harmony. All corn, no cob. Next up, a break from cream nation: a Kale Caesar salad. Loads of green kale came with grande shards of flavorful Parmesan. Whatever cheese supplier they're using is a cob among men! Keep them! Dressing was nice, the crushed pistachios were a cool addition, and everything about this salad was pretty solid. We also appreciated that the kale wasn't stem-y. It also came with two slices of toasted sour dough bread as croutons- very fun touch. Finally, the heavy hitter: El Pablo. I'm not gonna lie, at first, the thought of fried chicken on fries with grilled corn and spicy crema did not appeal to me. I was wrong for doubting their mastery of both kernel and cluck. Each ingredient was prepared expertly, and together, you get a savory, spicy, sweet, salty sensation. Everything just worked together in a super satisfying way. We went for the viral parm caesar salad wrap that cost $21 (with NO sides) and turned out to taste like bag salad. We also got the Nashville grilled cheese ($18) and that was so BLAH. Well I had to see if the hype was real. And it's real! This is the best Caesar wrap ever. I saw it all on Instagram and Tick Tock so I wanted to try it for myself. I really never ever order wraps I'm not a wrap person but this was amazing. The chicken is seasoned the dressing they use is absolutely wonderful. They even have a homemade ketchup for your fries that was really delicious. Everyone that works there is so nice polite and welcoming. I really appreciate that they really answer your questions and make sure you're all good and everything is right. And by the way those guys are easy on the eyes so that makes it all the better. This the best food this side of Mississippi. I shoulda been reviewed this I been eating here for like a year now and I've never had anything weak. My favorite thing is the shrimp toast (idk the proper name of it) but I get that almost everytime I eat here and it's never been bad. Outside of that though the Spanish wings are good, the shrimp Po boy, loaded fries, smash burger. Jalapeño burger. All 10 out of 10's. Best thing about this place also is they open until 3. My son has been raving about this spot for a while. So, one day for lunch I gave it a try. On a Monday at lunch time I went to the food truck. No line. It took a good 30-40 mins for my order. I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the El Pablo fries, spicy. They were definitely a 7/10. It wasn't spicy but the flavor didn't disappoint! The corn was fresh. The fries weren't soggy. The best Caesar wrap I have ever tasted. The flaming hot Cheeto corn was just okay and tasted like canned corn that was doctored up. They are extremely slow for the amount of people they have working there....at one point I felt like jumping over the counter and showing them how to speed things up. Worst service I've had in a long time. Went with my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). We were the only people in the restaurant. Our order took 35 minutes while the two employees were seen watching the basketball game, on their phones and ultimately moving slower than it would've taken me to pick each kernel off of a corn cob with tweezers. The food was mediocre. My son's wings were dry with barely any meat and over seasoned, my bowl was drenched in aioli which essentially made it corn and French fry soup. Now for anyone who knows me, I do have a love/hate relationship with food trucks. As much as I enjoy the majority of the food I get from them, they are often overpriced and provide underwhelming portions. I found that to be more of the same here at Corn on the Corner. I decided to go with one of the more attractive menu items I found, the El Chapo. This was a plate of shaved corn with cheese, majo and Cajun seasoning. I even added Flamin' Hot Cheetos just to really ramp the flavor profile. It was $12, but they gave me a bottle of water for free which was generous and these guys definitely enjoy what they do. Food was absolutely delicious, and the owner had great recommendations for us, which was the Chicken Ceasar wrap, Nashville Chicken grilled cheese and the Steak Sandwich.
