If you made a list of all the types of cuisines that Metro Detroit is lacking, I can easily say that Afghan food is one of the most underrepresented. I think part of it is because there isn't a large Afghan community in the area, but also that there are plenty of Middle Eastern/West Asian restaurants offering similar food. But from my experience, Afghan food is quite unique and offers things that cannot be replicated by other neighboring countries. The only time I've had this type of food was in Virginia, and I was a huge fan. On this first trip I went with some traditional items that included the Qabuli Palaw (rice pilaf with lamb shank), the Mantu (dumplings filled with ground beef and topped with yogurt sauce) and the Bolani (bread filled with potatoes and chives). This was a great combination that truly gave an idea of what they offered while also being accessible. I could tell everything was made to order with fresh ingredients. The lamb was so juicy and fall off the bone tender, and the bread was quite satisfying in the sense that it could be a meal by itself. Overall I was impressed with their hospitality and I most certainly want to explore the rest of the menu because I can't see any weak offerings as it stands

Overall excellent food, food portions are perfect for the price. Meat is soft, tender and easy to eat. Mostly flavour full, the chapali kabob could have more spices and slight less fat, and maybe slightly well done. Plenty of space, and very clean but nothing fancy. The owners and servers are very polite and helpful, and they make sure you are well served.

Very welcoming place and feels very homey. You can see the women cooking in the kitchen and it seems like a family affair. We went with the BBQ platter for 2 and 3 of us could not finish. It was a lot of food and that platter encompassed majority of the menu. The meats were flavorful and spicy which I love. The yogurt was a nice and necessary relief. We also got the meat dumplings and that was my favorite. Very flavorful and great food overall.

I love Afghan food and I'm so glad they opened this Afghan restaurant in Michigan. Came here with 3 friends on a Friday night and had a table with no wait. It's a cozy family owned restaurant. The food is the best kebabs I've had in Dearborn and rivals the best I've had in the US. We shared a platter for 5 which included 5 types of meats and every single one was juicy, flavorful, and delicious! The rice is also amazing. There was definitely more than enough food for 4 hungry grown men plus leftovers for one more.

Likes this kabob place that came highly recommended by so workers and YELP. Myself and two other chefs are away from home on assignment. Wanted something different to eat. This place did not disappoint. We all shared all of our samples and got the same entrees as well. We all really enjoyed our company and dinner. Sadly we were so full there was no room for dessert. The restaurant seemed a bit cold with all the tile and woodwork but the service shone. She realized that us chefs just wanted the real deal and we got it... Highly recommend this place...

There's a parking garage in the rear and plenty of spots. I did enter through the rear of the establishment since I parked there. The menu is pretty extensive. Ended up getting the half order of hummus. A basket of warm pita and two sauces came out. I initially thought that was the pita. This was complimentary I believe. The garlic sauce is solid. The other one is a spicy sauce of some sort. This spicy one was super good. The hummus came out. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. I opted for the lentil soup. That came out piping hot. This was delicious. Flavorful and good texture. My entree came out and wow. The portion is way more than what you pay for. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.

One guy seated at a booth on the phone and two ladies with their suitcase at another booth. Other than the 3 people, place was empty. Ordered carry out. crushed lentil bowl, chicken kafta, two sides: small hummus, small baba ghanouj, large fattoush salad with no pita. $38.13 Food takes about 15 minutes to be ready. Drove all the way back to the office. My chicken kafta looks to be lamb, not at all what I ordered. My large fattoush is covered in pita chips. Had to spend several minutes getting every pita chip out of the salad. It's good I am not allergic to gluten. They shove the dressing packet in the corner of the salad, so you get a bit less, that and the pita chips. Other than that, the salad was fine. I am quite disappointed the order is not right! The crushed lentil soup has a lot of rice in it, which is just filler to me. Has some clumps of something, may be rice and starch? It's too inconvenient to drive all the way back. Do be sure to check your carry out order before you leave the place. The crushed lentil is quite bland, not much flavor to it. Tastes some fennel, quite a few clumps of starch. The soup is more rice than lentil. I could count on one hand how many traces of lentil was in my bowl of soup. What in the world? My husband ate the lamb kafta, since I don't eat red meat. He said it was so-so, but rather dry.
