Ariana Afghan Restaurant in Dearborn delivered one of the most memorable Afghan meals I've had. The rich, savory flavors of the Borani Banjan paired beautifully with the Lamb Karahi, creating a combination that was both comforting and deeply satisfying. The lamb was exceptionally tender--perhaps the most tender lamb I've ever had--cooked to perfection and infused with remarkable flavor. The Qabuli Palaw was equally impressive. The rice was expertly seasoned, fragrant, and perfectly cooked, while the accompanying meat was incredibly tender. Every bite was balanced and delicious. The Qabuli Palaw was simply out of this world. If you're looking for authentic Afghan cuisine with outstanding flavor and quality, Ariana is a must-visit. read more

I love Afghan cuisine and Ariana delivers. We had their mantu and their BBQ platter for Two. Both were delicious. The BBQ platter comes with rice that's mixed with carrots and raisons. The meat was deliciously seasoned and juicy. They also make their own doogh drink which I liked a lot. Not too sour or thick. Overall the food was Amazing. Service was kind as well. The waitress checked appropriately and ensured our dine in experience was going well. Ambience was causal. They had dine in options with a number of booths available. read more

This place has a lot of potential. Overall food quality and taste was just not there. Their shami kabobs were flavorful, but dry. The qabuli palaw and chicken kabobs were a bit bland. Parts of the mantu were not cooked propely. The bread was tough and cold. The overall vibe was below average. I hope they are able to work on these things and continue to improve. read more

Ariana Afghan Restaurant is outstanding. I'm glad the Detroit Free Press put it in its Top 10 dinner spots because it absolutely deserves the recognition. The food is incredibly flavorful, with a great selection of dishes that feel genuinely different from what you'll find at most restaurants around Detroit. It fills a real hole in the city's dining scene from a cuisine standpoint. Everything we tried was delicious, satisfying, and memorable. A fantastic addition to Detroit's food scene and an easy recommendation. read more

First time going into this restaurant & I was amazed at the attention & politeness of staff. Service was great. Their selection is small, but the service, food quality & taste make up for it. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

If you made a list of all the types of cuisines that Metro Detroit is lacking, I can easily say that Afghan food is one of the most underrepresented. I think part of it is because there isn't a large Afghan community in the area, but also that there are plenty of Middle Eastern/West Asian restaurants offering similar food. But from my experience, Afghan food is quite unique and offers things that cannot be replicated by other neighboring countries. The only time I've had this type of food was in Virginia, and I was a huge fan. On this first trip I went with some traditional items that included the Qabuli Palaw (rice pilaf with lamb shank), the Mantu (dumplings filled with ground beef and topped with yogurt sauce) and the Bolani (bread filled with potatoes and chives). This was a great combination that truly gave an idea of what they offered while also being accessible. I could tell everything was made to order with fresh ingredients. The lamb was so juicy and fall off the bone tender, and the bread was quite satisfying in the sense that it could be a meal by itself. Overall I was impressed with their hospitality and I most certainly want to explore the rest of the menu because I can't see any weak offerings as it stands read more

Overall excellent food, food portions are perfect for the price. Meat is soft, tender and easy to eat. Mostly flavour full, the chapali kabob could have more spices and slight less fat, and maybe slightly well done. Plenty of space, and very clean but nothing fancy. The owners and servers are very polite and helpful, and they make sure you are well served. read more

Very welcoming place and feels very homey. You can see the women cooking in the kitchen and it seems like a family affair. We went with the BBQ platter for 2 and 3 of us could not finish. It was a lot of food and that platter encompassed majority of the menu. The meats were flavorful and spicy which I love. The yogurt was a nice and necessary relief. We also got the meat dumplings and that was my favorite. Very flavorful and great food overall. read more

I love Afghan food and I'm so glad they opened this Afghan restaurant in Michigan. Came here with 3 friends on a Friday night and had a table with no wait. It's a cozy family owned restaurant. The food is the best kebabs I've had in Dearborn and rivals the best I've had in the US. We shared a platter for 5 which included 5 types of meats and every single one was juicy, flavorful, and delicious! The rice is also amazing. There was definitely more than enough food for 4 hungry grown men plus leftovers for one more. read more

By far the very best new restaurant in Dearborn last couple years, overloaded with Burger Chicken Coffee and Dessert shops. Something totally unique and new just open Saturday, been twice in five days Yummy . On Michigan Ave East Dearborn across from the Strip Club and Ford Dealership, just Google it. Such a beautiful design two full dining rooms, brightly lit and spotless clean. Opening day had half off all food on Saturday, place was hopping while a line out the door. They actually ran outta food both Saturday and Sunday, for a very good reason. Such fast friendly service and low prices, marvelous unique food makes this a must try . First visit blown away by the Aush Afghan Noodles Soup explosion of flavor, Bolani Omg traditional Afghan bread the restaurant was ordering Unique fantastic bread. Chicken Tikka Kabob and Sheek Kabob with mild heat spices, similar to Iraqi style spot on amazing. Today visit the Mantu little dumpling filled with Meat and veggies OMG , similar to Armenian Mantia the restaurant in Southfield. Had the national Afghan dish Kabuli pulao is the Afghan national dish. Unmistakable in its appearance with its glistening carrots and large tender chunks of lamb, Kabuli pulao is an unforgettable dish, it's spelled differently many variants. Mega Lamb Shank on Pulao Rice, best dish I've eaten in a long time. We finished with a piece of Pistachio Cake for the win . Take a look at Yelp and Google for many great reviews and photos already posted. Stay tuned for Authentic Afghan Breakfast coming soon . @ariana_restaurant_dearborn #ariana_afgan_restaurant #eastdearborn #afganrestaurant #mantu #aush #bolani #qabulipalaw #downriverfriendseat read more

Delicious food and very friendly staff. From the qabuli to kababs to the veggie dishes...everything tastes delicious and freshly made.

Excellent food and service. We had never had Afghani food before so wanted to check it out. For those who are curious, I would say it is somewhat of a mix between Persian, Punjabi and Indian food and delicious. We had the chicken karahi and the manti and both were excellent. We can't wait to go back and try other items. The service was good was well. A definite repeat for us. read more
