Hands down, my favorite spot in Dearborn for authentic Middle Eastern food! This place is as authentic as it gets--from the butcher with a few missing fingers to the pounds and pounds of meat being chopped in the back corner, you know you're getting the real deal! You pick your meats from the front, and if you want, they'll grill them over charcoal for you to enjoy in-house. The ribeye is absolutely melt-in-your-mouth amazing, and the toom is the best I've ever had. The raw kafta is super fresh and flavorful. Not only is the meat incredible, but the baba ghanoush and hummus are next-level. The baba ghanoush is smoky, creamy, and perfectly balanced, and the hummus is silky smooth, rich, and drizzled with high-quality olive oil--perfect with their fresh bread. The staff is beyond friendly, stopping by multiple times to chat and check in on us. We ordered chicken, ribeye, kafta, and makanek, all of which were incredible. They also have unique meats like liver, kidney, and heart--I gave the liver a shot (not really for me), but my boyfriend loved it! If you're a meat lover, this spot is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

I NEVER have a less than excellent experience here! They grill the food in the same room where you dine, which makes the whole experience feel immersive and lively. The grilled meats are absolutely the star - on this visit, the chicken was my favorite, but honestly everything was outstanding. We ordered the chicken, beef, tartare, kafta, salad, hummus, pita, and garlic dip, and every single item was excellent. Our table spread fed six people, with leftovers to take home, and the total was only about $100 - incredible value for the quality. If you're looking for high-quality Middle Eastern grilled meats in Dearborn, this is the place to go!!

A coworker recommended this place and it was very good! The place is clearly already very popular. Since it's such a small building, it's very tight in there, but there was some seating along the market side and there was seating in the back that seemed more restaurant style. The service was pretty quick for how busy it was and getting fresh skewers. They were pretty nice and explained the price of each skewer to us. It's definitely a hidden gem in Dearborn.

The best middle eastern butcher around. Buy the meat and take it home or head to the back room and wait for it to be cooked! You won't be disappointed!!

Yummy! I stopped in Dearborn for the first time after seeing the great reviews for this restaurant and couldn't resist. Upon entering, there is a fairly narrow area to sit and wait for your order (took about 15 minutes on a Friday afternoon for my order) so I decided to wait in the car instead. I believe they also have a dining area if eating in. I thought it was pretty unique that they are both a butcher and a restaurant. All their offerings looked super fresh and the employees were welcoming and friendly. I ordered two of each of the kafta, steak and chicken tawook skewers. The Kafta and steak kebabs were stellar. I was asked what temperature I wanted them cooked at (medium well) and both were very juicy and super flavorful. My only complaint was the chicken tawook was pretty dry in my opinion. I appreciated all the pita bread and roasted veggies that are included with the meal, but the meat was the star of the show! At about $3.25 a skewer, I wouldn't say this is the cheapest option but definitely well worth the price. Will absolutely visit again!

I got the beef kabob, heart, liver, and kidney skewers, and baba ganouj to go. The beef kabob and kidney were the best. Beef was pretty tender, and the kidney was delicious and burst with juice on the fattier parts. The heart and liver was pretty good as well, but definitely an acquired taste to it. I usually enjoy organ meats but after eating two whole skewers of heart and liver, it left an irony taste in my mouth. Baba ganouj was interesting. Very different to the ones I've had at other restaurants. The baba ganouj here tasted more garlicky and much watery.

This place is an amazing gem of meats ans barbe que. Come get lunch dinner or meats for your home. Great prices for kebabs and appetizers. Great prices 3.75 for regular meats and $6-7 for premium kebabs. Dining space in the back. Family owned and run place. .

Best place for kabobs. This hole in the wall is part meat shop and part grill. They serve meat skewers that are juicy and fresh. This is mosty take out place with very limited seating.

Dearborn Meat Market is certainly an interesting place. A big butcher room with workers cutting up meat and making skewers right in front of you in, with a display case full of fresh skewers, hummus, baba, and tabbouleh. The front area is very narrow with just a couple of seats and basically no room to maneuver. Past that is the counter where you place your order from a very friendly gentleman. And then past that is a small hallway to the storage areas and restroom, and only at the very end do you get to the dining room. The dining area is six small tables crowded together in a tiny room. Sharing this dining room is the grill where they cook all the skewers and veggies. We were so excited to visit after we first heard about this place a couple of weeks ago and just had to visit before Ramadan started. At 2:30 PM on a weekday we found this place super crowded - all the tables filled, and the front area full with customers trying to order. I placed my order and I was given a estimate of 30 minutes for takeout! We ended up getting 2x Shish Kabob, 2x Kafta, 1x Tawook, 1x Makanek, and the tabbouleh. While we were waiting outside, there was a steady of customers parking on the street right in front and picking up orders. Overall, it ended up taking around 25 minutes in total. While we wanted to dig in right then, there were no seats available inside and we didn't want to spill any of the food in the car. The smoky smell of the fresh grilled meat smelled absolutely heavenly as we drove home. We dug in immediately after getting back while everything was still hot. The skewers are served between two pitas (standard commercial ones, probably from Yasmeen), which allows them to soak up the juices and infuse with some of the meaty smokiness. On the side, there was a small cup of toum - garlicky, a bit lemony, very fluffy. I'm not sure if they make the toum in house because it tasted kind of like a grocery store one (which isn't a bad thing - most of the toum from grocery stores around the area are still good). There's some additional pita on the side and a small tray of charred vegetables, including tomato, skin-on onions, and chili peppers. Skewers ($3.49 Each) - All the skewers had a very nice smoky fragrance and char. Unfortunately, that's where the disappointment starts. The makanek had a pleasing sourish flavor that introduced some variety vs the other meats, but was very dry. The beef kabob cooked more than well done, making it dry, tough and difficult to chew. There was a piece of beef fat included in the middle of each skewer which is a nice touch. Unfortunately, it was also tough and chewy. At some places, you can specify the doneness of the meat, but here I wasn't given the option. The tawook exterior had a nice orange hue and tastewise was savory with a bit of an acidity. The inside was bone dry. I could literally see all the muscle fibers where all of the juice had evacuated. The kafta was not only dry but also exceptionally salty. It felt like my mouth was burning for each bite I took. I am not even exaggerating - I took two bites, had to drink half a glass of water afterwards and my mouth was still burning for several minutes after that. In addition, it seemed to be 100% meat, making it dense and added to the dryness - there are no green herbs mixed in to give a bit more lightness. All the skewers were oversalted, but the kafta was by far the worst. Parsley Salad ($4) - I guess there's a reason this is called parsley salad rather than tabbouleh because this only contains parsley and onion. There isn't much olive oil added; there's just enough to moisten the parsley but it's still a bit dry. The diced onion adds a bit of a sweetness - I think they are actually pickled a bit because they don't have a raw bite. There's an additional acidity added by lemon juice and a tartness from sumac. At first I thought it was overpowering, but then as I ate more I found it to be balanced decently with everything else. Dearborn Meat Market has such good reviews and is so highly rated that I feel like I might have just caught them on a bad day. Ugh, I wanted to like them so much but it was just such a disappointment in the end. There are other places around that cook their skewers way better that I can't see myself going here again.

This is the place to go for if you're into kababs. They had a good variety on what all you can order for dine in and some only for takeout since their main business is meat. The dine in place is pretty small but servers are so nice and friendly.. best service I ever received, even though in the busiest hour of the day, there was no frustration and everyone was so polite. I will most likely take to gos from here next time.. I ordered 1 chicken sandwich, 1 chicken kabab, 1 drink and 1 hummus appetizer, all this was 14$. They give complimentary pita bread, grilled veggies on the side.. this is my lunch and dinner both for 14$ which is 7$ a meal, most likely the cheapest I'll get in the state!

My whole total was a measly $11 for a dozen of falafel, a plate of rotten turnips pickles and parsley 2 mini containers of garlic and tahini and 2 huge containers of garlic and tahini that were both sour and old tasting, I kept my mouth shut and didn't call them to complain and figured they lost a long time customer bc why would I even go back when their packaged items are all dusty and expired and flies all over their produce, in the whole produce isle I didn't see one fruit or vegetable that was edible and everyone was trying to buy stuff but they were walking away after trying to pick through. Way better markets in the area. Skip this place if you care about what goes into your body, threw the turnips pickles garlic and tahini straight into the trash upon opening, ate 2 of 12 falafels out of hunger, then threw the rest away bc what would make me think it was ok to eat them after everything else was rotten, pathetic third world vibes in this market, defiantly has gone down hill, hope they shut down and use that big space for an actual edible market
