We had dinner here for both carnivores and vegetarians in our group. First up was falafel. Adding the hummus and pita bread - excellent. The falafel are larger than I'm used to. Bigger than a golf ball; smaller than a tennis ball. Crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Nice! I ordered the Lamb shish kabob dinner. Great taste and nice texture, but slightly more well done than I would normally go for. Nicely carmelized veggies from the skewer. French fries came with my kabob. Excellent! 3/8" cross section and cooked perfectly. No ugly brown ones (Brown fries = overcooked fries), but that perfect golden tan. Service was prompt, friendly and accurate. We also ordered some extra bits (an extra falafel, hummus, etc). They didn't charge us for some of the items since we had been a generous customer overall. Nice! This one's a keeper. read more

This is a new restaurant with bright, clean decor and boisterously friendly service. My friend and I stopped in just a couple weeks after they opened. The owner and his wife were welcoming. The menu is expansive, with coney island fare and Middle Eastern all the same. I went with my basic Middle Eastern restaurant "test" meal - chicken shawarma sandwich with rice on the side. My friend went for a lamb kafta and fattoush salad. Prices were definitely fair, with most meals under $10. The food came up quickly and everything was delicious. My friend loved the dressing on the fattoush and her lamb was juicy and flavorful. My chicken shawarma was great; perfectly lemony without being overbearing. The rice was tasty. The garlic sauce on the side was good, too. (Side note: they don't have fresh-baked pita bread like some restaurants.) I'd definitely stop back in when the shawarma bug bites me. We wanted to try a new restaurant and my husband spotted this place on his way home. Only a few miles from our home. Since COVID and restaurant dining just really opening up, there was only two other people dining in, so social distancing was pretty easy. The wait staff and cook were really friendly, looks like a family owned business. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Serving size for one is really for two, we brought home enough food for dinner for two for another night! Their garlic sauce was fresh and delicious. They made hummus with parsley and olive oil on top. Another great dish! Their fatoush salad was seasoned just right. The lamb was made to perfection with a seasoning and made a little on the crispy side-just like I like it. They also have great smoothies, I had their banana, strawberry, and mango smoothie, of course, made to perfection with honey! I started with a water and was greeted with the waitress and her very friendly and adorable daughter at her feet ready with friendly hellos and a wave. I ordered a small crushed lentil, which comes with a side of lemon, large fatoosh sans pita chips and a small hummus with sautéed nuts, almonds. Simple decor and the booths are reminiscent of the old diner that must have been here before. The crushed lentil looks a bit more green than I am used to, tastes okay but lacks any flavor at all. Had to ask for some spicy sauce or season to add to it make it more appealing to get it down. The fatoosh has some dried herbs on it, along with fresh parsley, looks odd to me. I expect everything fresh on my salads. The dressing is a bit too tart for my liking and it's heavy on the oil. The large salad is not as big as large salads I usually get at other middle eastern spots. And the fatoosh would be better with some red onions in it. Would like to see all fresh herbs used on the salad next time. The hummus looks good with the slivered sautéed almonds on it. It tastes pretty good too and like the random bites of the almond as I eat it, not a bad texture. The hummus is nice and so smooth and so nutty and flavorful with the almonds actually, but seems a hefty price for some chick peas and almonds if you ask me, cost $9.95. I was expecting a bunch bigger bowl of the hummus that what I received. The Pita is in the small baggies, not a good sign. I looked around and there is no place or setup for a Pita oven, such a bummer. I would also recommend the waitress not wear perfume when at work, her perfume was so strong I could smell it lingering when she would come to my table or walk by and it's pretty overpowering and makes the food taste different too. read more

This is a review based on a first-time carry-out order. And I will get to the point, this was a great impression and experience. We were visiting some friends in Dearborn recently, and they offered to pick up some dinner for us all to nosh when the wife and I arrived. I'm always down for yummy Dearborn food! They suggested a couple local places that they enjoy, and they're avid yelpers themselves so I trust their judgment of restaurants around town. This is where they preferred and so we went with Andalus. I can't assess the restaurant itself, though it does have a convenient location on Telegraph. That much I saw driving by. All I can really assess is the food. We got Baba Ganoush, Hummus (and veggies for dipping), loads of Pita Bread, Rice, Fattoush Salad, and sandwiches - two Falafel and one Shwarma. Portions were generous enough that we all ate until full and still had plenty of leftovers. I can't comment on the Shwarma but my friends really enjoyed it. I can say that the Fattoush had perfect dressing and a really good distribution of pita chips for that satisfying crunch. They gave us a really generous amount of pita bread, which I really appreciate. There's nothing as dissatisfying as getting an inadequate amount of pita bread with your meal. Let's be honest, that's what we're all going to eat the most of. The hummus and baba ganoush were both excellent, creamy and full of flavor. My wife isn't a big eggplant fan but I sure am, and I really enjoyed the Baba Ganoush. Also, having crunchy veggies as a delivery method for putting hummus into my facehole is always a win. And that falafel! SO flavorful, a good amount of tahini to go with. My wife and I started conservatively, split one in half to share. We ended up splitting the second one in half to share as well. MMM. I'd definitely recommend the place because the food is fantastic. Also the restaurant's location makes it really accessible. Will definitely eat here again. read more
