I went to this place today without an appointment, I just wanted to pamper myself a little bit. I asked for a pedicure with gel and acrylic nails. Well, they did my pedicure and wasn't bad at all, they had to remove my past gel, which I guess that's why they charge $43?! But they did a horrible job with my nails, they look like my daughter painted them. They look very thick and they didn't cover the sides, also the edges are very sharp! Haven't had a pedi in a long time so while waiting on a red light I spotted this location and made an unexpected visit. I was able to be seen as a walk in and the wait was as long as it took to choose a color. They have massage chair while you're being worked on, which was a nice touch. I got the guy didn't get his name but he did a pretty good job, he was a bit light handed for me and I did enjoy the leg massage but that was very short maybe like 2-3 mins per leg. They have relaxing music going and it was super great to see couples go in. Now I know I can go in with my Mr. I just hope they don't scare easily, haha! It does state they charge $1 for credit card use but when I took cash out it charged me $2.85. They should invest in a C.C reader because it charges customers $1 or less. As I mentioned making an unexpected visit...I had tennis shoes and socks on so I was happy to get offered those temporary foam sandals but I did have to get seen walking to the atm on my bare feet to get them offered instead of them asking at the end of my pedi. I feel like I need to write this review because I am so unhappy about what happened yesterday at the salon. The first time I went in I had a great experience with May. The last time they told me they could not do my toenails because they didn't have time. I don't think I mentioned that. And I mention it now because it happened again yesterday. I had a lot to do because I'm trying to get out of town. I had a 12 o'clock appointment with the nail salon and I took my dogs to the groomer across the street at 11 o'clock. I stopped into the nail salon and I asked if it would be OK if I went to the pharmacy first (Chula Vista) and I might be 10 or 20 minutes late. They said that was OK. I came back at about 1220 or 1225 and they said they couldn't do my toenails because I was late. I said I was very sorry that I had to go someplace else because I didn't have time to come back two days in a row and have it done. They told me I could come back at 2:30 and have everything done but I had to be on time. We agreed and I came back at 2:30. When I came back the young woman who was helping me was trying to understand what I wanted. I like to have the colored powder on my nails and my toenails so that it's a perfect match. I like the deep looking color of the acrylics and I don't like the gel. She talked to me for 10 minutes about how I did not need gel on my toenails. I know what I want and I've been doing it like this for years at my old salon in El Cajon until I moved down here and I've tried try to find closer salon. I've had my nails done three times since I've been here and none of them have been very good, with the exception of the job that May did last time at this same place (but they didn't do my toenails). I was getting pretty frustrated that this woman would argue with me the way that she did. She assured me that they had the exact same color of gel as the color that I picked out on the acrylic nail samples that I was looking at. I told her I would try it but I was pretty annoyed that we spent 10 minutes trying to talk me out of what I want it. It probably had more to do with the fact that they didn't have enough people there to do the job that I wanted then anything else. Then we went on to discuss rhinestones which I like to have one each finger and the big toes. She told me that was too much and that I should only do it on one finger. Then she told me she didn't have the rhinestones to do what I wanted. She said most people don't want those. So I was going to do something else, rhinestone flowers on just one finger and the big toes. I really tried to be polite all along but I was very frustrated that she argued with me every step of the way about what I wanted and what SHE THOUGHT I should have. I also requested two colors of acrylics at the tip and clear on the bottom. After a LONG discussion between the lady I was talking to (in English) and the person who was doing my hands, I asked what the problem was and she said she didn't know how to do that. I said that's fine you can just do the one color. So then she did clear acrylic's only, not the pretty blue that I was looking at. When I asked why I didn't get the blue powder on the tips of my fingers they said it was because I chose gel. That they were putting blue gel on my nails. I said I don't know how I could've been more clear than I wanted acrylics on my fingernails and my toenails and then I was settling for a perfect match of gel on my toenails to the acrylic color on my fingernails. She told me that's not what I said I wanted and that the samples I was looking at was gel. I said that's fine will try it this way. Then when it came time to do the rhinestones, I said I really wanted rhinestones on everything her and I was going to choose another color. One of the ladies went into the other room and she came back with a big box of rhinestones in every color including the colors that I wanted in the first place. But I already had a different color of rhinestones on my big toenails so I couldn't use the ones I wanted in the first place. So why didn't they just borrow some from someone else in the first place instead of telling me what I wanted was over the top? I've done a lot of bling on my fingernails for years. It's the way I like it. She (the young one) also argued with me about issues of a personal nature while we had small talk as she placed the rhinestones on my fingers and continued to tell me why the gel was better than the acrylics and how it looked much better. She sent me out with the gel still tacky and it's dull looking today. I don't like it. Both of the ladies who worked on me and the man doing a manicure next to me were very nice and I'm so sorry to leave this bad review because they don't deserve it and neither does May. But that young woman who was helping me yesterday (and I don't know her name) really blew it with me. If I might go back again but I will not be talked out of what I want again. read more

May did my toes and Nikki did my nails this time and they did a great job. Two visits in one week! They must be doing something right!! I went in to get a pedicure done early Friday afternoon. They were pretty busy and had four appointments come in at the same time. I was asked if I would like to come back at a later time so I didn't have to wait. I said sure and made an appointment for later that evening. I came back for my appointment a couple hours later. They were casually busy, but I got in really quick. Kit gave me a pedicure and I must say, he is great! Very personable and kind! All of the staff is very friendly as well. He took his time and made sure I was okay with my pedicure with every step. I am THE MOST ticklish person when it comes to feet and I told him that. He said that's fine I will try not to tickle you. He did a fantastic job catering to my needs. Not once did I jump, he didn't tickle me at all and I don't even know how it's like he has magic hands! Lol At the end of my pedi, he told me- we saw your review on Yelp and would like to give you your paraffin wax for free plus 10% off. I insisted that I pay full price and they wouldn't take no for an answer. Out of all of my time going to numerous nail salons, not once have I ever received a discount. However, today, I encountered an angry employee who was mean and kept hitting my fingers and telling me to relax. Which was not relaxing. Service can be hit or miss. I'm not sure if I'll be back. They did a horrible job, they definitely don't know how to do nails they couldn't even cut my toenails straight they painted my toenails horribly it looks like a 5 year old kid painted them & my acrylic nails were done so sloppy first of all they're very thick then they're also very dull, they have no sharpness ait looks like she put the acrylic on without filing it and then went straight to putting on the gel.
