My nails were average compared to the shop I normally go to. I initially called and was given one price and once I arrived I was given a higher price. My pedicure was rushed & she kept slightly cutting into my skin throughout the pedicure. My nails were not painted to my cuticle. It was overpriced for the quality that was provided. Another customer threatened to call the police while I was there because her nail was damaged during her appointment & she was refunded. I should have asked for my money back but it honestly was a last minute walk-in because I couldn't go to my shop. I don't think this shop has much diversity so that may have an effect on the quality of service you receive. This shop doesn't have refreshments of any sort while getting your nails done which I'm use to at almost every shop I've been to, I'm offered a water, juice, or cocktail with maybe a snack. This place isn't horrible but far from the best. read more

Coronado: 5 stars; San Diego: 4 stars. Plush provides one of the best pedicures on island and at very reasonable prices. I love their service - if you book an appointment for pedicures for 3 friends - they will accommodate you. Many places wait until you show up and then only can take one or two people at a time, despite telling you otherwise over the phone. Plush service is always impeccable. They have the standard bells and whistles - spa, parafin etc.. If you want super high end (sea moss toe mask etc..) then go to Hillcrest and overpay. read more

Fantastic salon in Coronado. They have always done a great job for me. I use them for pedicures and manicures and the ladies are very attentive. I opt for the full service with massage and my feet and legs thank me every time. Lemon scrub on my arms...yes and thank you. Hot towel and paraffin make the difference. Prices are very, very reasonable for the level of service and attention to detail. Walks-in welcome but you can make appointments. When I travel back to Coronado coming here is always on the agenda. read more

Lee is rude and short tempered. She did my gel manicure and was literally cutting my skin.. Super super bummed out about this experience. I asked her to please not file my nails too short, and she filled then VERY SHORT. I have been trying to grow my nails out since taking a break from acrylics and she filled waaayyy too short. Also did not bring the paint all the way to the sides. Plus left a bunch of dead skin on my cuticles? Very weird experience. She was upset when I told her I just wanted two coats, I knew the color was very light and that it would end up looking very thick. She got verrryyy rude and upset because of this and grabbed my hand back and put another TWO coats on.. lol... then showed me and asked if I liked it. ‍ When I was done she said "ok get up" such a bummer, such a bad experience. My pedicure was AMAZINGGGG tho! Literally one of the very best I have ever had. read more

I have been getting Brazilian waxes for over 10 years, so I am used to quite a bit. I went for one here at Plush and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had! There are times you have to hold a little to help out, but this technician was pulling and shopping my hands in fingers into place and went over the same spots over and over again. When she was "finished" there were still many many hairs left which she plucked out manually. Not to mention that she didn't wear any gloves throughout the event! And, here's the worst part, I was actually bleeding from it afterwards!! Never again! Worst experience EVER! read more

Love them! The shop was quiet when I came in so I was seated immediately. My nail tech asked me what I wanted and I showed him a picture of pink chrome nails and he executed them better than the picture. My first experience was great because I was a first time customer, it was my first time getting acrylics and I didn't know any better. Came back to get an acrylic fill in and my experience was a complete 180 and was overall a huge letdown. My nail tech was Nancy the manager. Here's everything that went bad and why I will not be going back to her: She was 30 minutes late to my appt. She nicked my thumb and it stung for a good 24 hours. Felt some burning with the drill. She didn't completely remove my old nail color so there are still some little green specs that I can see on my middle and ring finger nail (apologies if the camera didn't pick it up very well). Some nail shapes are uneven (I asked for short almond and one side isn't as narrow as the other and I wasn't aware of that until the French tips were painted on). Also, the ends are very rough and not smooth. There's bubbles from the acrylic beads. My cuticles were absolutely demolished by the drill and she was very heavy handed. She used a sheer gel polish before doing the French tips so you can still see the older acrylic underneath. When she asked me if the nails were to my liking and I looked at them they were clearly rushed and there were still spaces that she didn't completely cover so I asked her to fill those spaces in. Also, the French tip on my ring finger is far thinner than the rest so you can see my natural mail underneath. The paint at the tips are already chipping after a day. Overall this experience was very rushed and unpleasant like she didn't care about the details as compared to my first visit that I paid $70 and tipped her heavily for. I was charged $55 USD for the fill which was far too overpriced for the less than standard job that she did. I was completely ripped off. Just because you're busy and took on too many appointments and customers doesn't mean you can do a rushed, subpar job. read more

I decided to do gel manicure and I told the lady I had a broken nail and if she can fix it. She just looked at my nails with no response. She glued it but i told her can you make sure it stays that way, maybe add powder or acrylic to make it stronger and she didn't say anything at all. So I figured the glue was enough. Every time I would talk, she wouldn't really respond. A day later, that same nail broke from the same spot. She didn't do a very a good job fixing my broken nail and didn't even bother trying to do what I recommended. I had to spend more money trying to fix my broken nail at another nail salon. This place looked promising as it looked nice inside especially with all of the pretty nail polish options that they had. But that doesn't matter if they don't do a good job on your nails and don't bother talking to you.

Fast forward to the day of the wedding and our salon experience was amazing. Minnie even went the extra mile in getting us snacks as we were getting ready -- as well as taking pictures of us to remember the moments. Both Minnie and Christina were absolutely amazing. They finished well ahead of our photo deadline and their prices were also very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them and this salon if you're getting married nearby!

Van's space is privately located in the breezy back of the shop which I preferred away from the main stream traffic. She is such a personable gal w/a fun dynamic personality and we hit it off immediately w/our ethnic heritage that we both share! (My mom's name is also Van?!) I had been taking a long break from gel manicures because of the UV lights, but Van assured me that they now only use LED lights... so I was very happy to resume my shellac nails which she does so beautifully Her pedicures are even better...my neglected feet were smoothly reborn after her skilled callous treatment & lavish foot massage! I'm absolutely thrilled to have discovered Van here in my local salon and am almost hesitant to share her...but she deserves to be applauded and recommended for her awesome nail expertise!!

I usually booked with David because he's very gentle, takes his time, and clearly knows what he's doing. Unfortunately, while the appointments were comfortable, my gel manicures consistently ended up with a very thin polish layer. My nails often felt thin and scratchy afterward, and the polish rarely lasted more than 10 days before chipping or lifting. I went back several times to have one or two nails fixed, but after multiple visits, I realized this seemed to be the technique being used rather than an isolated issue. I also tried booking with other technicians, but they always seemed to be unavailable. On several occasions, the person answering the phone (Lee) came across as rude and not very welcoming, which made scheduling appointments unpleasant. On the positive side, I had a few pedicures with some of the younger technicians, and they were excellent. They were gentle, thorough, and provided a great experience. One thing that has always made me uneasy is that I witnessed a few clients cry out in pain after their cuticles were accidentally cut during their appointments. Similar to my experience at their Downtown location, it makes me feel anxious every time I come in, even if it isn't happening to me. I wish there were a greater emphasis on gentleness and client comfort, because the salon has the potential to provide a much more relaxing experience.
